My Wedding Day
A Rundown of the Day...The Good & The Bad
I loved reading other brides details of the day. Just to hear what they felt exceeded their expectations or not, what worked and what didn't. So, here my rundown of the good, the bad and the ugly :)

The Good

Photographer - Our Photograpger was incredable!! He exceeded our expectations. The man was just amazing. We had booked a room for him as well. So, he was taking pictures until about 1:00am. This is an area that I would not cheap out on. After it's all said and done...you have your memories and your pictures!

Hair and Makeup - Getting mine and my bridesmaids makeup and hair done on site was awesome. I did not have to leave my house until it was time to go to the ceremony.

The Venue - My venue was so accomodating. Everything looked exactly how I wanted it to, as I had no "day of" wedding coordinator the venue took care of all the setup. The food was delicious! The bartender was awesome. The day after the wedding, we had a large group for breakfast, it was no problem, they set up a private room for all of us to eat. They also handed out my Out of town bags to all guests that booked rooms upon check in.

Flowers - Absolutely beautiful!! The bouquets and arrangements were stunning. My florest added red crystals in the centre of the roses in mine and my bridemaids bouquets. I didn't know she was doing that, it was a nice surprise :) Also, when she delivered the arrangements to the venue, she gave my Husband a bag of left over petals for him to place in our suite. Needless to say, when we did retire for the night. There were rose petals scattered everywhere in our room.

The Dresses - My Dress fit like a glove. I loved it! The only problem was the bussle kept comming undone. My MOH had to re attach it probably 16 times throughout the night. My Bridesmaid dresses were not altered correctly. My maid of honors dress was not hemmed and one of my bridesmaid dresses was big in the chest area (her girls would have been hanging out) Good thing we went in the day before for the final fitting.

Tears of Joy - Every single one was gone, they were more popular than the programs :)

Chocolate covered spoons - were a hit not one left by the end of the night.

Out of Town Bags - Everyone loved these. I had a thank you note in each allong with: water, snacks, candy, tylonol, advil, scope, candle tin, tissues, halls, breath mints etc.

The Cupcake Tree - Was beautiful. there was not a single cupcake left by the end of the night!

The Bad

Cameras for the tables - Don't bother ladies! You will end up paying alot of money for them and to develop the pictures only to get pictures of peoples feet or chest area.

The DJ - Our DJ was good, everyone loved him. What everyone did not know was that he did not have our play list! So, the songs that I really wanted played did not get played. It was still good, but I worked my ass off creating that list for nothing. We tried requesting them but half of the songs he just did not have.

Programs - I thought these would be all gone, but I still had about 50 left over!!

Our Picture Matting - Ladies, When the hall is packing up your stuff at the end of the night, please make sure that they pack your matting (if you are having one) separately. Our ended up being packed with our cupcake stand and it got iceing streaks all over it. I still love it! It kinda makes me laugh when I see it :)

The Ugly

My Hair stylist's wallet was stollen at my house!! Yes that's right. Someone who was in my house the day of my wedding took my hair stylist wallet!! Picture this ladies you are 5 min from having to leave to get to the ceremony and all of sudden your hair stylist's wallet is gone! She refused to leave until it was found. After a frantic search, still no wallet. We ended up leaving, because we had to go or I was going to be late for my own wedding.

At this point and time, I truly thought to myself this girl is crazy, her wallets probably in her kit, no one took it. The ceremony was done and we were eating at the time, when the event coordinator came over to the head table and asked if anyone in our party had lost a wallet. My
stomach went up ladies! I asked to see the wallet and sure enough it was my hair stylist! Someone took it from my house and diched it under one of the chairs in the ceremony room. It was found when they were removing the chair covers. I could not belive it!! That someone could do that to one of my vendors on my wedding day!!

My Mother in law ended up calling her to let her know that her wallet had been found and she could come and pick it up, however all the cash that was in it was gone. This could have turned into a scene as she had been (while I was getting married) frantically calling my house, my Mother in laws cell, and the police.

So, we let the venue know the "problem" they posted guys at the door and were told that under no circumstances was she alould inside the reception. I wanted her to pickup her wallet of course, but I was worried she would cause a scene as all the cash in her wallet had been taken.

She was actually really cool and was just happy to get her wallet back. She did not cause a scene at all. Rob and I ended up writing her a check to replace the money that was taken.

No one ever admitted to it! There was blaming and finger pointing going on throughout the night. Only the people who where at my house really knew what was going on. We hid it very well from the guests. I was just so disapointed, and we will never know who it was. But, I hope that person feels like a piece of S**T.

The people in my house on the day was: My bridal party: 3 bridemaids one maid of honor, My Parents, My FH's Mother, the photograher and his assistant and a friend of one of my bridesmaids. You really can't trust people ladies...the worst of it is after the wedding was over and we got back from our honeymoon I have noticed other things have gone missing as well :(

It will all come out in the wash one day ladies...

The next upset...My Father in Law was hammered at the ceremony! I could not believe that the man could not even keep it together for the ceremony! He was blurting out stuff, it was mortifying. He sobered up by the time the speaches rolled around, thank God. He's a good man but he just had a few to many pre drinks.

So ladies thats it...the good, the bad and the ugly. All in all, the day was fantastic and all of our guests had a great time! Things will go wrong but always remember that no one knows but you. So keep a smile on your face and enjoy it because the night goes buy so quickly.

Wedding Day
Unprofessional Pictures :)
I'm Back Ladies!!! To be honest, and I'm sure other brides have felt this way as well. I have just been avoiding WBC since the wedding because I feel like I have soooo much stuff to post that I don't know where to begin. So...I'm going to start with some of my unprofessional pictures of the day!

It was an amazing day!!

The picture of My husband and I wearing wigs was for our grand entrance. We walked into the Austin Powers Theme song (I am officially Mrs. Austin) while wearing the wigs and doing a funny dance.
We had so much fun!!

Wedding Day
Tomorrow is the Big Day!!!
Well ladies the time has just flown by and I can't believe that I am getting married tomorrow!! I'm so excited :)

Everything had been droped off at the venue, I pick up the dresses in a few hours and I finally feel relaxed, because there is just nothing more that I can do...it's out of my hands now :) I can't wait to have a relexing evening with my girls.

There is so much suff that I have not posted yet...but I will!

I would love any "day of" advice that you may have fellow WBC brides!!

Parents Hankerchiefs
I bought these Hankerchiefs on etsy from a seller named mollyandmom. She was fantastic and she has so many designs and colours to choose from. She did a great job and I love the Damask design. I got 1 for both my Mom & Dad and 1 for both of my FH's Parents.

Father of the Bride reads: Dad, you may be giving me away today, but I will always be your little girl.

Mother of the Bride reads: Mom, to dry your tears as you have always dried mine.

Mother & Father In- Law reads: Thank you for raising your son to be the man of my dreams.

The key chain was also bought on etsy, from a seller named leathermadenice. It reads DAD on the front and on the back it says THE FIRST MAN I LOVED.

Christian Lacroix Evain Water...Score!
Ladies, I just could not resit buying these. I found them in Winners. They are 750ml bottles of special edition Christian Lacroix designed Evian water. Such a huge score...I can't even take credit for it because it was my good friend and fellow WBC bride Octoberbride11 that spotted them and promptly told me to go buy them :)

I got enough bottles for all the tables durning the reception.

Chocolate Covered Spoons...
I am really happy with how well these Chocolate covered spoons turned out. I will have them on the late night coffee and snack table for people to enjoy :)

They were really easy to do ladies, here's the intructions should you want to do a bunch up for your wedding.

Ingredients

Milk Chocolate
Dark Chocolate
White Chocolate
Toffee Bits

Materials Needed

Sturdy Plastic Spoons. Use a descent quality spoon since the cheaper one tend to not hold up well with melted chocolate.
Wax Paper or Parchment Paper
Cookie Sheet
Small clear candy wraps bags (I got mine at Michaels)
Ziploc baggies

Directions

- Line cookie sheet with wax paper.
- Melt Chocolate of your choice slowly in a double broiler, Stirring frequently until smooth. Remove from heat. You want the chocolate to be thick and *just* melted so that it won’t be too hot that it melts the plastic spoon. You can let the melted chocolate rest for a moment in needed.
- Dip spoons in the melted chocolate. Be sure to cover the entire tip of spoon, going up to about quarter of an inch up the handle. With spoon side up, gently tap handle of spoon on side of bowl to remove any excess chocolate, with the spoon itself holding a full level of melted chocolate.
- Lay spoons in a single row on the cookie sheet with the handles resting on the rim of the cookie sheet (to keep the chocolate level in the spoon)
- At this point you can cover some of your spoons in toffee bits or any crushed up candy of your choice. Refrigerate for 30 – 45 minutes
- Melt the white chocolate and the dark chocolate chips/squares separately. How it did it was to place the chocolate in Ziploc baggies, seal shut, then drop them in a bowl of hot water (not boiling, or you will melt the bag)
- Once the chocolate is melted, dry off the bag and snip a small hole in the corner of each bag. Gently drizzle the melted chocolate onto the chilled chocolate covered spoons. Chill Again for another 30 minutes.
- Once the chocolate is chilled and set completely, wrap up each spoon with small plastic bags.

After many hours I am finally done the place cards!! I couldn't be happier with how they turned out :)

I colour coded them by pining flowers on each card, to make it easier for the servers during dinner:

Red - Prime Rib
White - Chicken/Shrimp
No Flower - Vegetarian
