Marriage License
We got it!!
We have our marriage license! I am so excited! I had to pick it up by myself, so I didn't get a picture of us with it. The days are getting numbered, but I am so close to finishing my last tasks!

Ask a Question
Umbrellas
I just fell into the 10 day forecast range, and it is predicting a very high chance of thunderstorms. That being said, I want to make sure I am prepared for this by having umbrellas for myself and my bridesmaids. Have any of you found a site that sells umbrellas in cute colors for a reasonable price?

Wedding Music And Songs
Traditional Selections
As a wedding musician, I have performed for many ceremonies. I am performing at a wedding in the beginning of June, and I thought I would share their selections to help out brides who may be looking for ideas. These are selections for violin/cello duo, but they are available in other arrangements as well. This is for a traditional wedding, with pretty traditional music selections.
Prelude: Air on the G String-J.S. Bach Largo from Winter-Vivaldi Processional: Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring-J.S. Bach Wedding March-Wagner Candle Lighting/Interlude: Arioso-J.S. Bach Recessional: Hornpipe from the Water Music Suite (in D)-G.F. Handel Trumpet Tune-Purcell Postlude: Ode to Joy-Beethoven Rondeau-Mouret |

I found new inspiration!
I should really stop looking at/searching for decoration inspiration. Every other week I am finding something else that I like, and then I change my whole game plan for decorating. So this new obsession is:
Tissue Paper Pomanders! I can see them at the ceremony for sure. I stumbled across one while doing a google search, and I fell in love! The best part of all of this? I can buy stuff to do a practice one at the dollar store, so if I fail I am not out tons of money! Has anyone made these? |

Ask a Question
Indoor or Outdoor Ceremony?
We have the option of both at our ceremony venue, and we can even wait until the day of to let them know which way we want to go. I really don't want to wait until that day to make up my mind though.
I am indecisive and I can picture us in either space, which is what prompted this post. I attached pictures of both spaces so you can also see them. The only thing I have for the ceremony so far is the unity candle, so I am not tied down to too many decorations. How did you decide on an indoor or outdoor ceremony? Are you happy with your decision? Did you use a unity candle, or did you go to an alternative option? Thank you! |

Wedding Decoration
Wedding Centerpiece Inspiration
We are having three centerpieces in our space. We will not have to buy any of the vases/candle holders, because they are included in the price of our reception (a perk of having a Friday reception).
The first is for the bar tables. They will have a cluster of three votive candles. We may put them on a small mirror to reflect the candle light. The next will be two cylinder vases surrounded by votives. The contents are still undecided. One idea is to have both filled with colored water and topped with floating candles. The other idea is to have one vase filled with colored water and a floating candle and the other holding a stem or two of orchids. This would also be on a mirror. The tall centerpieces will probably be similar to the picture I posted. My fiance is against the use of branches in our tall centerpieces. He will probably win that argument. We would surround the bottom with votives. My problem is seeing everything together. I like all of them individually, but I am worried I will not like the finished product. I hope to do mock ups soon. |

Vistaprint!
Can I just say that I love Vistaprint? Most of our paper products are coming from them. I thought I would share some of the things I have ordered and also some products that I will be ordering soon. I never took a picture of the STD, so that is a screen shot.
*Our STD was a magnet. The quality was great and we received great comments. It was a template from the site. I was too nervous to try and create something without knowing how it would turn out. *Our RSVP Postcard. They came out great. I upgraded to the matte cardstock. The printing is easy to read. The best part? They were free! *Return Address Labels. I have ordered so many of these in varying designs and every single one has been great. Most of them have also been free! *Keychain. This was probably the one product I still am unsure about. It was for my fiance and when I received it, both sides were more grainy than I was expecting. He likes it, so I guess it is ok. A free item! *Wedding Notebook. Great product. I ordered mine with blank paper, and I have used it for everything from lists to sketches. Another free purchase! *Pens. Pens are free almost all of the time (at least when I order) so I have a bunch. They have our names and wedding date on them. They write nice. *Tote bag. This is the small tote bag, and it was another free product! The printing is solid and the size is great! *Lawn Sign. This is the small size. I haven't ordered it yet, so this is a screen shot. I made it double sided so we only had to cart one sign around. I am ordering it without the stand. I am still working on menus and programs, but they will be done soon! |

Wedding Reception
Menu!
We are having a cocktail reception and we finalized the menu last weekend!
Starting at 5 pm, we will have: *cheese and sausage platters *veggies and dip *large cocktail shrimp with sauce *tomato bruschetta *fruit Starting at 6 or 6:30 (ending around 7:30 or 8), we are adding: *chef carved turkey and ham *bbq meatballs *garlic lime chicken satay *spinach and artichoke dip At 9:30 or 10, we will have: *assorted homemade pizzas! There will also be pretzels at the bar all night and cupcakes for dessert. Food will be served in 3 stations, hot, cold and chef carved. I am very excited to do something different from what our friends and families do for wedding receptions. I just wonder, should I have some menus scattered around that say what is being served and when? It was a thought that crossed my mind, and I am wonder what others have done that have had cocktail receptions. |

Unity Candle mock up :)
Here is the mock up of our unity candle! The floating candle is from Michael's, the vase and gems are from save-on-crafts.com, the tapers are from the Dollar Tree and the taper holders are from IKEA (and I already owned those). I am very happy with it. The only thing I may still try is adding lighter green vase gems to the bottom. The candle will be on a small round table with a white tablecloth, so the blue gems will definitely will be more noticeable. What do you think?
