I found these pictures on etsy and I love these table ideas. You really should check out etsy if you're looking for damask runners, tablecloths or squares for the middle of the table. They are decently priced. :)

with the holidays here, it is pretty easy to find Damask wrapping paper. Cut a square, put a piece of glass over it (can be found in stores where you find candes, mirrored circles, etc), and you get this same look for really cheap!

That first picture (black tablecloth with damask placemat square) is exactly what I'm doing! Tall centerpiece, a few votives, the whole bit.
