Honeymoon
Better Late than Never [Post]
We waited about 6 days till we jumped on the plane for the honeymoon, only because the inital flight day would have us leaving at 9pm during our wedding reception, and we didn't want to do that.
We took a flight from Toronto to Barcelona Spain. Took a shuttle bus from the airport to the dock and checked into our cabin [with a balcony] on the ship [NCL]. It was amazing! We sailed for about 24hours going to Malta, which I have to say was the most hottest place eva. My calve muscles were dripping sweat it was crazy. We spend basically about 8-12hrs in each place. After Malta, it was off to Italy: Naples, Rome & Pisa. Naples...not so nice, probably where we went, ppl will try to hustle you for your soul, you don't get a chance to breathe. Remember back on Seseme Street when there was that one muppet with the trenchcoat?, he'd open it up and there would be numbers all hanging on the inside of the jacket? .. Well in Napes, I remember this one African doing that, trenchcoat, but when he opened it after we kept saying we didn't want anything he had, his jacket had all these watches hanging down, it was funny..he's like, "I got Rollie's! I got Versace! What do you want, I give you good price!!".....We ran away....and there were sooooOOoo many knock off purses. I didn't buy any, I couldn't bring myself to. But I kept thinking on the plane back, I should have, just because maybe the leather was real being in Italy even though everything else was fake. 60Euro for a Prada purse...tempting. lol Anyway, Rome was beautiful, we saw The Basicilla, St Peter's Square, the Colliseum, etc. We felt the most foreign though because really and truly, no one speaks english there other than understanding "money" "American? no? Canada! yes!" Than Pisa--let me tell you the Leaning Tower isn't as tall as you'd think. lol Back to the ship, we sailed to France, Michael and I took a train to Nice, and had fun on the beach. The cruise itself was amazing, the food, things to do, parties, definetly something I would do again!! I encourage you to do a cruise if not for your honeymoon, at least just for a vaycay. |

We Did It :)
Our Wedding Was Amazing
So, it went down Saturday at 2pm
It poured all day!! About 5 minutes before I got to the ceremony--the rain stopped and the sun came out hard :) My dad walked me down the aisle, which was actually a pathway full of exotic flowers and trees leading to the backyard of the mansion. He walked too fast, I thought I was going to fall..but I didn't :) When I got around the corner and everyone could see me, I could see all the groomsmen and the bridesmaids crying. lol I didn't cry until the vows time...Michael cried first [when he said his]. Once he cried, everyone watching cried. lol When the last picture was snapped after the ceremony, the rain poured down again!! But we were already in the Jag. Everyone was at the banquet hall, on our way to the hall [while it's still raining like nobody's business] Sophia [one of my bridesmaids] calls and says the guestbook and wedding favours aren't at the hall..so we drive back to my parents to get them. Then they call back again, saying the hall won't open the wine or serve alcohol because they don't have our liquor license. So we had to drive back to the other side of town to get it. My foot was sooOOOooo swollen<----o! because I wasn't able to wear my beautiful heels because of the torn ligament in my foot, my white & gold Shox were covered in rhinestones! Everyone loved them, even the photographer. lol So when we got to the hotel, Michael and Priya [MOH] went back up to seach for this license...lol Once we finally got back to the banquet hall [rain stopped] and the party began!! Our grand entrance was 30 minutes before dinner was served, so we couldn't do the recieving line, so later on in the night we went up to every table, thanked everyone individually and gave them their favour...everyone seemed to really appreciate that. I know I did. ********* Tips -If you are serving your wine for free--don't forget to hand over the liquor license to the hall!! -Wear comfortable shoes, even if they are runners. lol -When you sign your registry--calm down!! The minister said to me, ok Latoya, print here and sign there, these will be the last times you write your full name again..it took me some time to get my head around that and figure out out to write with a caligraphy pen...AND look classy the whole time...I left out 4 letters out of my first and last name. almost just wrote a big L across the page. lol -Make sure all your help has everything from the moneybox, guestbook and favours at the hall from the NIGHT BEFORE..... -Don't let your hubby to be play paintball 2 days before the big day [[Michael had a bruise on the top of his forhead :| ]] -Drink some Gatorade Rain or some kind of protein drink that day...everyone will tell you to eat something...and you probably won't cause you wanna keep as much as your morning tummy flat as you can, or just nerves.....but trust me...cause even during dinner you won't eat as much as you think because of speeches, and those kissing games, and the servers clearing the plates....meh. ******** Thanks for all the love ladies!! We finally remembered to go get the Marriage License today! Woo!
Short line [behind us]...$122 later...the city smiled at us. Then on the escalator leaving on those stupid crutches, I "hopped" on the steps as Michael told me to, and fell forward flinging the sticks down the stairs behind me. He giggled. Then asked me how I did that. I was so embarrassed...and told him to help me not wonder how I did that....lawd. I really hope this isn't a sign for the [near] future. lol And we got the liquor permit...."special occasion" permit..as we won't be selling alcohol...it's an open bar. That was only $25 at the LCBO. Done and done :D |

Dreams & Nightmares
Are you tripping out too??
I had this horrible dream the other day....no one came to pick me up from the hotel! Oddly, all the bridesmaids were gone to the ceremony already, and I guess someone was suppose to come back for me, my soon to be sister in law called me and said "Toya! You have to be here in half an hour!! Don't be late!" And I was like, "Ok man!"....then I was waiting.....and waiting.....and waiting...in my dress....freaking out.....these 3 old white ladies were in my room sitting in these fancy chairs, one was totally calling me names like blackie and worse and wouldn't move when I tried to pass her..I had to push the back of her chair up off the ground to get around her! And she just sat there giving me the baddest cut eye. I looked at the time, it was 1.45pm..the ceremony started at 2pm....I looked in the mirror at myself and pulled out all of my weave. lol.. I started going nuts! I took it all out and tried putting in a pony tail with the ratty peice of hair. Using a barbie brush. I started crying and my make up started running, so I had to redo everything...my makeup ended up leaving me looking so greasy..I called back Rebecca crying that no one came to get me, then she yelled at me that she told me not to be late!! And hung up on me as she yelled at the groomsmen that I was still at the hotel ruining everything......I woke up with a start almost heaving....I swear I will remember that dream for the rest of my life. Down to the old biddies outfits.
But then a few days later I had a dream that during the reception Michael sang a song to me...you're beautiful or something....I was crying [again]...I woke up an hugged him. I hope I get more happy dreams man.....lol |

I wasn't intending to do any major changes to it for the wedding...I bought a hair accessory that I will pin either behind or below one of my ears and just pump up my hair. I'm leaning towards this Ciara style, then "hair-3", "hair-2" than ms halle berry style...actually probably not that one now that I think about it...I'll look for a new number 4....lol |

I have my photographer, Tiger, but I do remember him asking me to look for pictures that I like, and after seeing what she posted...I figured I better do it now and shoot him an email with the pics. We hired a dj I know who is popular in the club circut, but will do weddings for friends...just my luck..heh heh...He's very professional and proper..I didn't have to tell him we don't want no shoot em up "six million ways to die choose one" music [lolololololol]...cause he already knew...had the details of the contract typed up, asked the age group expected, how many people, yadi yadi yada...bringing his mc and a smoke machine and some kind of light machine..$700. Funny cause it seems everything is always $700. lol
