What do you think about this???

More so than not our centerpices will be some type of glass cylinder, similar to the one pictured, not as big though.

I was thinking about having the cylinders (or what ever we use) engraved and giving them to our parents, grandparents, and special guest. This way they can have something from the wedding as a keepsake

The engraving will have fh & mine's name, date of the wedding, and possibly our theme "Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, & Forever, A Love Withstanding the Test of Time"

Since I am pretty sure I will be doing a DIY for my centerpieces or atleast purchasing the vases instead of renting them from the florist (if we go that route), I've been thinking what am I going to do with them after the wedding & this idea popped into mind.

What do you ladies think of that idea?

I have seen this before and it looks really awesome. The wedding that had this put a light in the bottom of the vase so it lit up the vase and flowers. Really nice when the lights are dimmed!!

Looks fabulous.  This is exactly what we are doing.  We also purchased lighted bases to go underneath the vase.  It looks fantastic on a black tablecloth!

sounds like a really nice idea...but also pricey.

shop around for some delas and dont be afraind to negotiate. =))

These are wonderful!  I love the idea of getting them engraved and giving them to your special guest...they should really love that.

These are fabulous!! I have tons of pictures saved with centerpieces that look like this and I love them all lol. I think these centerpieces with look chic and your special guests with love the engraving since it shows you took the time out to do something special like that. So great idea and major kudos!!

These are lovely! They are certainly statement pieces, and can add a really glamorous touch to the reception. The only thing I would be concerned about, and I know you mentioned you may do a shorter vase, is if they are tall, they may be tippy. If a guest bumps the table or something like that happens, they will tip. Very pretty though!

@ hashbrown the idea with the light is EXCELLENT...thx I never thought about that.

@ inluv2myshrek I 2 am a lil concerned about pricing, but I also have some time on my hand to space the cost out. But I am definitely going to look around. I know that I have  Things Remembered in the area & they can get up in price so I'm going to do some searching and see if I can find somewhere else to compare and see if they can give me a good deal.

@ acowley I doubt if the vases that I get will be that big as I want people to be able to talk without having to look around a centerpiece.
