Color Crisis
Light Robin's egg blue, light teal......

Ok, so I want to change the shade of blue I use in my wedding. Visually I know what color I want but I don't know the name of it and David's Bridal does not have what I'm looking for.......so what is a girl to do? On saturday I'm going to meet with the man from the decoration company and I need to have some swatches to give him to match the linens to.....BUT I don't just want to go to some random fabric store and pick some swatches and not be able to match them to anything else (bridesmaids dresses etc).

I thought I saw the color I wanted online until I printed the picture out. It was nothing like it looked on the computer. Soooooo.....I'm at a lost.

Ok, so the dress in the picture is the color I want (at least on my computer it is) but when I printed it out it was more green than it looks.

The bottom swatch is called light teal but it looks really green in print

They might not be printing true to color and I really wouldn't recommend matching anything printed on a home printer. You're better off going to a bridal store and looking at dresses in that color scheme.

The dress you have in the pictures looks teal or maybe aquamarine green.

What are the other colors you are using. If you can't find the exact color dress that you want, get it in black or ivory or another color you're using and use the teal color as an accent on the dresses.  There's no rule that bridesmaids have to match the linen.

I do like the color you picked, the undertones are flattering on any skin color. I'm having a mixed bridal party and definitely wanted to pick something that would look good on all the girls.

Good luck I hope you find the right color. I'm curious to see what you come up with.

Interpretations of colours are horrible..I am in the same dilemma with Burnt orange!
What I have done is asked the bridal salon to order me fabric from the manufacturer of my dress. (I have the burnt orange band on my dress that is burnt orange and I want that to be the exact burnt orange of all my accents and bridesmaids dresses. I am getting my bridesmaids dresses made so its a bit easier for me. Im also changing the band that comes on my flower girls dresses and making the men's tascots/tie out of the same fabric, so that it is an exact match.
You may want to consider asking the bridal salon fo ra swatch (my bridal salon gave me a piece) if all else fails.
GOOD LUCK:)

I understand your dilemma!  Since my bridesmaid's dresses will actually be the contrast color (steel gray) & their belt or sash is the aqua/robin's egg, I can do a little more.  The only recommendation I have is not to match with the computer color, but to either get a fabric swatch, a paint swatch or even cardstock in the closest color to your preferred blue.  The thing about it is that you'll have the elements scattered & it wont all run together, seeming like a clash of blue hues.

In areas where I'm scared of the color slash, I usually go with my secondary color so that there is no conflict.  As for the linens, you may be able to layer them in 2 colors to lift it up.  You don't have to buy tons of fabric....you can do strips of fabric to overlap & create a table runner out of that, or have it cut to the circumference of the table top & then add your centerpieces.  I wish I had more of a visual to provide, but I saw it on Whose Wedding Is It Anyway.

I was having the same exact crisis - which color of blue to use. My original idea was teal and then I couldn't get it to match right with everything that I wanted to do - then I changed it to light blue. I think I finally have it to turquiose, but it was a hard decision to make. I find that turquiose is easy to find.
I hope that you were able to figure it out!
