Ask a Question
What is your weekly/monthly grocery budget?
I am really curious as to what each of you spend all across the country on groceries. My husband and I have been married 5 months and we are trying to stick to budgets.
My husband and I are finacially stable but recently started Dave Ramseys Total Money Makeover which has really opened our eyes to where every single one of our dollars goes. We are trying to get out of debt (car loans, school loans, ect) in 3 years. So we have started the envelope method and have allotted ourselves $100/week on groceries. We live in Dallas, TX and we have been trying very very hard to stick to The $100/week on groceries but we always seem to go over. That's over $400 a month! BUT that's about 3 meals for 7 days= 21 meals x 2 Adults= 42 meals. Also includes household cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other items that typically are bunched together in a familys budget (since theyre often purchased together). We love to go out to eat and try new places and we have had to drastically cut back on that. :( We try to get wholesome, organic, great quality foods. I also have a health condition that calls for me to have a special diet. I dont want our health to suffer just to save money. I usually end up going to 2 grocery stores on Sundays. A Whole Foods/Central Market and maybe a Neighborhood Walmart Food Center... I always make lists to make sure I dont stray and end up buying things we dont need. I also try to plan out our weekly dinners Mondays-Fridays so again we dont buy things we dont need. My husband and I both work full time and I simply do not have time to clip coupons. What do you girls spend? for just 2 adults? Where are you located? Any cost cutting ideas? |

Ask a Question
Just received our Marriage License- What is the easiest and fastest way to get my name changed?
I keep seeing alot of websites saying for $30 bucks they will do it for you...but is it worth it or a wast of money?
www.missnowmrs.com or just do it the old fashion long way? __________________________________ InstructionsThings You'll Need: Telephones Note Card Marriage Licenses Thank-you Greeting Cards Step 1 Order extra certified copies of your marriage certificate for agencies that require originals before allowing you to change your name on documents, such as the department of motor vehicles. Step 2 If you're a man changing your name at marriage, check your marriage certificate to see if there is a space to indicate a name change. If not, you will need court papers to legally change your name. Contact a local attorney to find out the procedure for name changing in your state. (This is not necessary for women.) Step 3 Request a new Social Security card or cards reflecting the name change. Call the Social Security Administration at (800) 772-1213 to obtain forms and instructions. Step 4 Make an appointment to visit the department of motor vehicles for a new driver's license. Ask in advance which documents you'll need to bring in order to certify the validity of your name change. Step 5 Obtain and complete a Passport Amendment/Validation Application. Send this along with appropriate fees, your current passport(s), and a certified documentation of your name change (such as a certified copy of a marriage certificate or court papers) to the nearest passport agency. Step 6 Order replacements for checks, business cards, credit cards and other documents that contain your old name. Step 7 Call employers and schools (if you are a student) to let them know your new name, and ask them to change it in their records. Step 8Change your name on your car registration, with your insurance and mortgage companies, and with your frequent-flier program. Step 9 Contact the post office, utility companies and registrar of voters. Step 10 Make the announcement to friends and family (ideally to your in-laws first), using stationery or thank-you cards with your new name printed on them, or order name-change cards designed for such an occasion. |

I'm married!!!
FYI: I recommend a Day-Of-Wedding-Planner
The time went by so fast but it was so amazing and beautiful. Of course not all went perfect but J and I were so happy and got to see our friends and family. That is all that matters. Plus no one seemed to notice any of the gliches....all were saying how this was the most unique and fun wedding they had been to this year :)
Planning a wedding is stressfull but be sure to take time out for just you to, to soak in the moment! All I would do differently is hire a Day-of-Wedding-Planner. There def needs to be a non-family, non-friend in charge of managing the pre-ceremony (rehearsal dinner ect) ceremony and reception. It was at the very end that all started to slighlty dissolve.... My mom, sister and I designed all of it, decorations, intinerary, every single detail..we had a few church members help my mom execute the final layout ... phew it was crazy That is my biggest piece of advice for you girls. HIRE someone please!!! I still had a blast and it was beautiful but it was super hectic and confusing for the bride and groom at times. I cant wait to see video !! more non-professional picks at: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2289781&id=9207777&l=5b855d2c83 |

Wedding Day Emergency Kit
...a good MOH will have this down pat!
The best type of maid of honor is like a boyscout always prepared and always helpful. To earn your merit badge, put together a bridal emergency kit, full of those oh-so-useful things everyone seems to want on the day of a big event. but no one has except you! Brides, in case your maid-of-honor prefers boy watching to boy scouting, you could either ask someone to help you put this bridal emergency kit together, or pull it together yourself
Stay one satin-shod step ahead of any marriage-day mishaps by stocking an emergency kit with items like the ones shown here. Make sure it's close at hand throughout your ceremony and reception, and you're sure to get hitched without a hitch. Get small travel sizes if possible: For Clothing 1. Sewing kit with needles, thread, buttons, and safety pins 2. Tape (keeping clothes in place, fixing hems) 3. Scissors 5. Clear nail polish (for runs) 6. White chalk (for masking stains) From the Drugstore 1. BREATH MINTS!!! 2. Bandages 3. Blister protection 4. Antacid 5. Pain reliever 6. Tampons 7. Straws (for drinking without messing up lipstick 8. Eye-drops (look for redness reducing) 9. Contact lens solution 10. Baby powder (also useful for getting out last-minute spills on a white dress) 11. BOTTLED WATER!!! 12. Lint Brush 13. Earring backs 14. Iron For Touch-Up 1. Make-Up 2. Cotton swabs 3. Tweezers 4. Emory board/nail filer 5. Tissues 6. Hand lotion 7. Bobby pins & Hair ties 8. Comb 9. Small mirror 10. Nail polish in the shade you're wearing and in the brides shade 11. Hair Spray 12. small Hair Dryer Good extras: charged cell phone, camera for taking getting dressed candids, list of vendors phone numbers, wristwatch. Make sure to have a special bag for the bride with her essentials such as her cell, her charger, medications, ect.. (this should be in her overnight bag already) |
