I haven't done of these in a while and figure I will do one today, in tribute to my new fave book/outlook on life - The Book of Awesome.
This book rocks, just little things, here, there and all around us that make you happy. It spurs a great positive attitude and outlook on life. I think the author is somewhat of a genius and turns out that my cousin (through a good friend) and another good friend, know the author and think the same, and they both say that he's also a laidback and fabulous guy!
Anyway, my Friday Five is simple - list me 5 things in your Book of Awesome - ie. what things happen that bring you joy - this book as the cover states, lists big things and little things - like finding extra fries in the fast food bag (LOL), finding money in your pocket, dancing in the rain, etc. etc.
I've lsited lots of stuff on my blog that make me happy so I will give you a breakdown for this week!
My 5 for this week are as follows:
1) Finding a Starbucks card with money on it! WICKED.
2) Finding a little bit extra on my paycheque this week.
3) Seeing a sun shower -soooo awesome!
4) Finding out there's a hot yoga studio walking distance from my house!
5) A very happy baby learning to walk for the first time
My girlfriend and i decided that everytime we see something 'awesome' we are going to email it to each other and have an online log of awesome! HA! We're then going to keep a little book in our purses too, with our own books of awesome, to cheer us up if needed, or just have it ready to note down that next best awesome thing.
What are yours? Doesn't have to be from this week, but what are 5 little things that just make you really happy (smell of fresh bread, first snowfall, etc)
2) Unexpected hugs from FH
3) The feeling you get when you jump down from the hair dresser seat! Refreshed & beautiful
4) Help with my dishes & laundry!
5) The feeling I get when I've cleaned the house, my floors are drying & I'm on the back porch with a beer!
1) Using coupons on discounted merchandise. Double the savings!
2) Finding spare change on the street.
3) Giving spare change to strangers.
4) The loving look that Chris sometimes gives me
5) Getting things in the mail (except for bills)
Christa, love the list! Double savings rock, giving spare change to strangers - just shows how giving you are - awesome. :) I love the loving look, nothing better! And getting mail is sooo great!
1) The feeling you get when your FH tells you he can't wait to marry you!
2) When I miss my honey with each passing minute he's gone even though we've been together for 10 years!
3) The steal of the day (my seester aka sister in law knows what I'm talking about!) It's when we go shopping and we find one thing that we love and got a SUPER awesome deal on it (like my $8 bridesmaid dress)
4) Walking up christmas morning with my family and trying to fit all 9 of us on the stairs for our annual pic! - my brothers are all 6'4" - 6'8"!!!

0.----------
1. Listening to my 17 month old son trying so hard to talk and only he understands. He puts so much feeling into what he's saying
2. Sleeping during a thunderstorm
3. The smell of turkey dinner cooking on Thanksgiving
4. Getting something special my daughter made for me at school
5. The look of snow right after a fresh snowfall
I'm shocked that I thought of 5 so easily
sherri02, hope next week is waaay better and def check out the book, it will remind you of the good things in the world when we need some reminders :)
2) Hearing a song on the radio that takes you right back to a specific moment in time.
3) Being told you were the best zombie at the Zombie walk that year....
4) Having your husband be a quirky as you, with twice the fun.
5) Getting your hair cut waaaaay shorter than you anticipated and having your husband say that you look beautiful.
Zombie Walk? COOL! I loove the hubby's response to the hair, he is a great man! :) And I totally understand the music one - I was transported back in time all day today and had the same experience, and it was totally awesome! Mark and I spent a while making him a playlist for working out and some CDs to play on the drives to Kingston and back lol. Love the theatre story, that would totally make my day :)
1. an all-inclusive vacation= overeating, overdrinking and overindulging in everything. I think I tried every tropical frozen drink on the menu because I could :) and that is awesomeness. Sorry have honeymoon still on the brain.
2. Hearing from God....perhaps nothing like knowing He has my back all the time and then Him reminding me of it. Mmmm, that brings me to tears.
3. Laying under a protective straw canopy with a great book & a hot husband while it rains through the sun around us (got to do this in Mexcio).
4. Going to Chicago during Christmas; having SBucks peppermint mochas with my sis, walking around Michigan Avenue, going to the water tower for bbq lunch, visiting our old stomping grounds with Matt and spending every night surrounded with family and love.
5. Seeing Matt smile. That makes my heart happy.
But I like to tell him that he IS my book of awesome Vol. I, I am working on Volume II :)
