I am planning my wedding on a 13-14k dollar budget. To cut a lot of the cost...I have done a lot DIY projects and I shop around for the best price. I don't believe that one has to go broke to have the wedding of their dreams.

Also, since I am a math teacher....I am stickler when it comes to numbers.

I started off with an $8K budget....however with the honeymoon and EVERYTHING we had to extend the budget to $12K. I would just say cut out anything that isnt a "Must have"....take advantage of all deals you can find and shop at discount stores. I have also used Craigslist to get some great used items. This site has also helped alot to get ideas and find deals that other brides have found. Good luck!

I'm working on a strict budget and honestly the best thing that I can tell you is to network and see who knows who. Believe it or not I have saved so much money doing this. My venue was reduced by 1,000.00 and my photographer shaved off 1,200.00. We reduced our guest list by 75 people to our close friends and family only. When shopping for venues, I was interested in places that had an open vendor policy. This saved me over 2,000.00 because the price per person to be catered ranges 20.00-30.00. With a buffet style menu, my parents can cook our food and we save. And once again... DIY!! It is so much easier and allows you to be creative and add your special touch. I hope this is a little help! =)

we are trying to stick to our 15k budget doing alot of DIY since we have a few years to go  im taking advantage of any sales that  i find saving money here and there and trying to much myself as much as I can. 2 of our good friends who are great photographers one actually runs his business taking wedding pics will do ours, My bff will be helping in making our mini indivual cakes. At first we were going to have our wedding on a sunday  which is cheaper but had to change the date . We are using foam white roses instead of real, they are way cheaper  compare to fresh which dont last long, I actually found my flowesr at a dollar store sounds weird but they came 8 roses to a bunch for  $1 picked up  a box full to do my bouquet, pomaders, bouts and crossages Got my beautiful dress at a boutique that was closing so I got my dress for 100 dollarsGot my center pieces at walmart and other stuff to put them together at the dollar store, it amazing the stuff you can find when u look around.Oh we are not having alcohol just a cash bar since most of our guests dont drink. There are so many things you can do to cut the cost and still have a very special day that wont have you go broke or in debt

We are on a very tight budget of $6-7k. We have a lot of DIY. A lot of the vendors we have found are up and coming and we have saved thousands by going with them. Also our wedding planner is not afraid to negotiate a phenomenal deal!

Hello, We are doing it on a 4-5,000 budget. I've gotten very lucky and have alot of close people. We have our catering for next to nothing, a great photographer for $300. Luckily our friend who is marrying us is also letting us use his backyard. We did still rent a hall for the reception but we also got a great price on it. And they just redid everything and bought all new table and chairs. Its hard doing alot of it yourself but I think that makes it all so much better! Its alot of hard work but in the end it'll all be worth it :)

I am on a $10k budget. I also have almost no time for DIY projects. I have found that the people I know and love have so many wonderful secret talents!!! My best friend worked in a flower shop, she is going to put all of the flowers together, so I can buy them wholesale and save a bundle! Also, researching the least expensive (but still pretty!) flowers has saved me a bundle! My fiance's best friend is an amazing photographer, and she offered to do our wedding for free!!! Another friend's mom loves to play with cake, so she is going to make our cake for us, complete with the music note decorations I am dying to have! Seriously, this is one of those events where you get to lean on your friends, and be so totally thrilled with the results! Good luck!!!!!!!
