The Proposal
Marcus and I are high school sweethearts. We even went to college together. We were dating 6 and a half years by Christmas of 2007. My family always has a big Christmas Eve party, and Marcus arrived late. I had NO IDEA he had the ring in his pocket as I told my family members, after a lot of wine, we were no where near getting engaged! He too had drank too much out of nerves and decided not to propose, because he thought I would think he was joking, or be angry he was drunk! lol. The next morning was so stressful. I took a shower and came upstairs in my bathrobe. I had my hair in a towel and my glasses on. I was complaining about how the magic of the season was gone, and Christmas has just turned into stress. I reached for my hair dryer and turned around to him on one knee, smiling ear to ear, and a shaking outstretched hand with the ring box. He said "Will you marry me?" and I made sure he was serious. I lifted him off of his knee and cried into his chest. His heart was pounding!! I said yes and proceeded to stare at the ring for about an hour!! :) Turns out he had the ring for 10 months, and carried it around many times, waiting for the right moment!
