I paid about $2 dollars a piece for these. I got the beer mugs from dollar tree and a glass etching ...

Ask a Question
Help!! Wedding website advice needed!
I have a question for you lovely ladies who have created personalized wedding websites. Which site did you use? If you could tell me which site you used, and what persuaded you to make that choice
I would LOVE it! I am ideally looking for FREE, or a relatively low price.
I want to have a source for guests to get additional information regarding the wedding, but I am undecided on which site. I feel the ones I have found have good aspects as well as several limitations. PS: My wedding is a year from yesterday! Finally feeling the crunch to get some decisions made instead of just LOOK at all the fun wedding stuff!! |

Future Hubby and I got engagement pics taken last week Monday. Today our photographer posted a sneak peak! I already LOVE the first picture, and cant wait for more to come later today!
We went around the Milwaukee area for our pictures. This one is at the old Pabst Brewery. No longer a functioning brewery, but is being redeveloped into apartments and other businesses! Its a great area of the City! |

Top choice so far, love the hint of sweetheart neckline with simple beading. (Mori Lee 268) Close second, afraid the one shoulder might be too "in" and 20 years from now not be ideal in pictures. Like the one shoulder without the flowers. The girls all love it! (Mori Lee 282) Tied for third. The only reason it isn't 2nd is the hot pink that it comes in is HOT PINK and might be too much for a whole dress. They didn't have a dress in that color yet as it is a new color optio Tied for 3rd. Same designer as the previous dress so we have the same hot poink issue here. Also, not sold on the flowers (Bari Jay 103) Not a fan of the shade of pink offered, and could see both girls belly button rings sticking into the dress. Not as forgiving for all body types. Beautiful fake diamonds under the, eh hem, "girls" ad |
Bridesmaids
Day one of the search...
The same day as trying my dress on for the first time since ordering it (YAY, loves it!) I had two of my bridesmaids try on dresses as well. I decided recently that I like the idea of chiffon, and something long, but relatively low key. My dress isnt shinny and super sparkly, and I just feel my girls would be better served in a simple yet elegant dress. Also, August Wedding in Wisconsin = hot and humid. Plus with the rare chance that they will actually wear it again, they might as well spend money on a dress they feel beautiful in, and not just like a bridesmaid. However, choosing bright pink may ruin any chance of forgetting its a bridesmaids dress. They all said that bright pink was ok because its my wedding
well, sorry girls, you gave me free rein!! :-)
Here are the top 5 choices so far, all in bright pink. The two toned has a yet to be decided band color should we go that route. Thoughts? Comments? Advice?? |

Wedding Dress
I love me a beautiful Wedding Gown!!
The dress trial went AMAZING! I still loved by dress. No tears, or Im getting married freak outs, only non-stop smiling and laughter. I felt a little guilty keeping on the dress for long, staring at myself, and making others stare at me. Well lets me honest, I more thought I should feel guilty, but really loved it! Come-on, its my wedding dress; Im allowed to be like that any time its on me!!
In a last ditch effort to keep the dress on longer, I suggested trying on a veil. I have been anti veil on me from the start. It just doesnt do anything for me, but feel I should have one. I instead have been in love with this flower (pictured) and will be wearing that. WELL, after a failed single tier veil, she put on a bubble veil with my (yet to be purchased) flower, and it was a group love at first sight. It just completes it and I feel so much more bridesy. (Note: Also allowed to make up adjectives to describe myself when wearing said dress.) Thoughts? Comments? Smart a** remarks?? :-) |

Wedding Dress
My dress is in!!
I got one of those random yet amazing phone calls today.... MY DRESS IS IN! I love how she said, "Your bridal gown has arrived."
I am so excited to try it on again. Now I just have to wait until one of my friends is available to go with me to try it on. I cant exactly go alone and ooo and aah over myself. Its so much better to have someone there to help me marvel at the dress beauty! :-) I hope Ive fallen deeper in love with my dress!! Posted are the pictures from the Mori Lee website, although I dont love how the dress looks on that model. An early post included pictures of me in the dress from the day I ordered it. |

Honeymoon
First Purchase!
Thank you so much to Laurie88. I have made my first honeymoon purchase. I do not have a destination, am 13 months away from my wedding, but man I will look good!! I love Vickies, and for only 6.99 a piece, I couldn't pass it up! That is cheaper than my normal Target for swim suits!
I hope my body will look like this but my honeymoon too! HA! ;-) |

DIY Wedding
Street Sign Table Numbers
Instead of table numbers I plan to use Street Signs to name the tables. The names will be reflective of the people who are seated at that table. Since I know people will have to be placed at tables that are not all in the same group, the street name can serve as a conversation piece as well.
To make it easier to find the tables, I will create (or pay someone to create) a map of the streets that replicates the arrangement of tables within the room. Today I found a website that you can create street signs. http://www.buildasign.com/ I utilized the feature under Famous Street signs and simply edited the content. I played around a little today, but did not add any of the clipart that can be included at this time. I would like to add more to the final two designs to make them look more like Street signs. I do however like the addition of our names and the Wedding Date. You can order the signs in a variety of materials from Aluminum to vinyl decals. There is a range of prices, but all still seem high to me. I saved the previewed proof as a picture, and when I paste it in PowerPoint at 12 inches wide, it only got minimally pixilated around the edges. So I could potentially do that and get them printed. Or I did consider looking into finding an Esty seller to make them for me. Any advice on finding one to make something customized? Even just for the process of printing/placing the sign on whatever is the right material. So here are a few samples that I made today when I found this website. One of my favorite Uncle died three summers ago, and for my Aunt and Cousins table I want to honor Uncle Ron as the street name. One sample is with his name. The rest are honoring his favorite signer, Neil Diamond. As a note, at the luncheon after his funeral we played Sweet Caroline and everyone sang loud and had a happy moment to honor Ron. This is the type of memories I want to use to create the street names of who is sitting at the table. Any thoughts from my fellow lovely WBC brides?? |

Bridesmaids
Will you be my Bridesmaids puzzle
Thanks to lampebride for being my inspiration for this project. If you check out her blog, she used a picture of her and FHs hands making a heart, added a poem inside, and was going to utilize puzzles as well.
I used the same idea, but with my future sister in law used a poem and the rest utilized a list of The Top Ten Reasons to be My Bridesmaid/Maid of Honor. I loved them, but they were a huge pain in the-you know where. I purchased a set of 12 24-piece puzzles from Amazon. First I had to finish cutting the puzzle apart with an X-acto knife because where each piece met the next, the puzzle wasnt completely cut (Im assuming so it didnt just fall apart). Next I centered and pasted the photo (which was created in MS word) into place. Cutting out each piece proved more difficult than anticipated. The best method I found was to flip the puzzle over, and to press the X-acto knife down along the entire board of each piece, creating what looks like connect the dots. Then I flipped the puzzle over and connected the dots with the knife. I have given it to two of my friends, and they both loved it!! I put it in an envelope, and had them open it with me standing there. So they had to put the pieces together and I got to watch their growing excitement! They also both said yes! So my two newest best friends, who I could not have gotten through Physical Therapy school, without will officially be my bridesmaids. I plan to ask my Maid of Honor on Monday when I head to my hometown, and hopefully my other friend that day too. I am going to mail it to my future sister-in-law. We are not that close, and I am not sure shell want to say yes because she will be 37 y/o and I have heard her say that shes happy shes done with that part of her life. Its ok if she says no, but I dont want to make her feel awkward as I stand there and watch. I dont care if I make my other girls feel uncomfortable!! :-) What do you girls think?? |

Bridal Accessories
Great find at VS for undergarments!
I completely lucked out today! I decided to stop at the mall and look for corsets for under dresses because my wedding dress will be at the bridal shop in a few months. I just wanted to get an idea of how they fit and prices. I stopped at Victorias Secret, my guilty pleasure and favorite bra store, and they are having their semi-annual sale! I happened to find a nude, plain corset bra top, with ribbing on the sides and back. Its perfect! Bonus, it was half off the normal $78 price, and since its my birthday month, I had a $10 gift for the store! Not only am I a self admitting snob when it comes to VS bras (they fit me so well) so I really wanted it from there, but they discontinued the corset top, so finding it on the sale rack was so meant to be!
I am standing up in a wedding in September and we have strapless dresses. I think I am going to wear it for that wedding to get an idea of what it feels like all day long. That way I can decide if I want my seamstress to sew a bra into the dress or wear the corset top separate. What are you WBC ladies doing for undergarments? |
