NEVER Order From...
...WINDY CITY NOVELTIES!
This place SUCKS! I ordered pink glow-in-the-dark cocktail sticks to put in the martinis and they just came in today. I opened them up and cracked a stick to make it glow and you can BARELY SEE IT GLOWING...EVEN IN THE DARK!!!! I'm PISSED!
The return policy states, "Internet images and descriptions may not always accurately reflect the color, style, or size of a particular product." Ok, fine - it may not be as bright as expected - but you can barely tell it is glowing!!! So, of course I want to return it but read further into the return policy... "...any AUTHORIZED return requesting a refund will be subject to the following charges: a 25% restocking fee, the original shipping charges (plus return shipping charges) and charges for any product not returned." Ok, let me note that the shipping was $16.04 for 2 TINY boxes that weigh nothing but was in a ridiculously HUGE box with a heavy-ass catalog in it!!! So, I would need to RE-ship it back - let's say it'll be $10 to ship back and plus 25% restocking fee would be around $13! Adding both shipping charges and the restocking fee equals $39.00!!! $39.00!!!! The damn total for everything was $52.04! That means I'm only getting $13 back! I might as well keep the dumb things! Can you tell I'm pissed?!?!? I just looked up reviews of this place and there are horrible reviews of bad customer service, blaming the customer for their mistakes/broken items, making the customer pay for everything, etc. Whatever you do - DO NOT ORDER FROM WINDY CITY NOVELTIES! http://www.windycitynovelties.com/ Thank you, Ladies and Good Night! |

Wedding Invitation
Wedding Invites SENT!
Ahhh! I sent them out yesterday and people are already getting them TODAY! Soooo excited!
The best part... they only needed 44 cent stamps! And, they hand cancelled them for me (apparently they needed to be 64 cents to be hand cancelled, but I guess the lady was doing me a favor!) Here's some pics of them! xo |

No one's buying & shower this weekend?!
My shower is this Saturday. I don't mean to sound rude or anything but, I have been stalking our registry list (probably not the best idea) and it only looks like 5-6 people have bought things off our list. What's up with that? There will be over 30 people at the shower. There's only one Crate & Barrel in our area (maybe even state) and it's getting a little late to have things shipped.
Has anyone experienced this? Do people just not look at the list and buy whatever they feel like, give money, or get nothing at all? I'm quite confused and I thought maybe some of you could shed some light on this? |

Spray Tan... Yay or Nay?
I'm pale and I need color! My shower is this weekend and I want to have at least a "sun kissed" look. I can't really stay out in the sun with my prescription face meds (sun makes my face peel and break out). Plus, the weather isn't calling for sun this week.
So, I thought about getting a spray tan but I have NO idea anything about it. I want to go to one of those booths that you stand there and you get sprayed. I need help! Who has gotten a spray tan? Does it turn you orange? Does it work well? Any tips? How long does it last? How often do you need to go to keep the color? Thanks a bunch, Ladies! xo |

Honeymoon: Where are you going??
I am curious to see where everyone is going for their honeymoon. My FH and I were going to Sanibel Island for 2 weeks, but due to the oil spill and contemplating if we really want to go there to begin with, we need some ideas! There's so many places to pick, it's overwhelming.
So, tell me ladies, where are you jetting off to & where are you staying?? |

Wedding Hair Style
I *think* I found my wedding hair!
I was watching 27 dresses last night and I lovvvved Malin Akerman's hair during the rehearsal dinner. I think the style is romantic yet fun. So, I looked up a bunch of similar hair styles and I think this is what I'm going to do! I have been trying to decide up or down since I'm not wearing a neckless and I'm wearing a strapless dress. This is a little bit in between an up and down style and I just love the look. The only change I want to do is have my hair "bigger" or "poofier" at the top of my head and not so flat. What do you think?

Which body shaper brand is the best??
My dress is in! Hurray! It came in super fast... all my BMs dresses and my veil are in too! I can't wait to try it on!
I was wondering everyone's opinion/experience on body slimmers? Which brand are you buying? I have been doing some research and obviously looked at Spanx but I looked some other ones such as TC, Flexees and Mirclesuit. I'm looking for something for my mid-area. My dress is pretty form fitting, so I need to suck it in! haha! Opinions please! Thanks! xo |

I really, really, really need your help! :-/
Hey All,
I realllllly need your help and any advice. As I posted a couple months ago, I was in a car accident in the beginning of April. Since then, I have been out on medical leave from work, in and out of the doctor's offices, and now just started 2 weeks ago with going to the chiropractor 3 times a week (as a last resort before I'd have to head to surgery). I injured my neck, shoulder and upper back in the side-impact accident. I am unable to move well with my shoulder and neck, and can't walk more than 10-15 minutes without needing to sit down or lay down. I am also unable to stand up straight (think old lady hunched over) or lift anything more than light items on my left side. Before the accident, I was on a great timeline with working out 3-4 times a week at 6 months before the wedding... I planned to drop 20 lbs. Now, I'm 96 days until the wedding (3 months!) and have not lost any weight! My FH just ordered a rowing machine last week, but when it comes in, I won't be able to use it. I am about to order a stationary pedal exerciser so I can exercise my legs. I have to mention, I don't eat badly; I'm a vegetarian, never eat fast food, soda, chips, etc. The doctor hopes that I will be able to stand up straight within the next month but that still doesn't help with the pain in my neck and shoulder. I am so overwhelmed, disappointed and panicked. I don't know what to do! Please, please, please help with any tips or ideas. I really need the help! Thank you so much! |

NWR: Pet Lovers! What's your pet's name?
This has nothing to do with weddings!! haha. But, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE animals. Pets make life so much more enjoyable and happy. I love animals so much that I'm a vegetarian. Anyway, I'm sitting here watching my adorable parakeet (that my fiance surprised me with a few months ago) and thinking about my other wonderful pets.
Who else is a pet lover out there? What kind of pet(s) do you have? What are their names? I have 3 dogs: Maggie Mae (aka Mags, Maggie Waggie) and she's a Black Lab/Border Collie Mix. She's the love of my life. We are super close. I also have 2 Australian Shepherds; Icey Bear (aka: Burger) and Zoey (aka: Zoey Woey and Chunky Monkey) and they are the bestest of friends. My "Rare" Parakeet is named Martini (aka: Tini, Booger, Budgie, Teen Bean, Tini Weenie). My pets are my world. Animals really do increase your mood and make life amazing! Everyone loves to talk about their pets, so lets share! :) |

Need help finding Bridal Shower dress!
I've searched far and wide for a bridal shower dress and I can't find any that suit my shower/me/the weather! I've looked at Neiman Marcus, Lord and Taylor, Bloomingdales, Bebe, White House Black Market, J Crew, Express, Limited, Arden B, Victoria Secret, Dilliards, Anthropology, Banana Republic, Gap, Macys, Ann Taylor and probably a few others and I can't find anything I want!!! I found a cute dress from Express, but it's a little short for a formal bridal shower (plus I'm 5'8).
I'm looking for something sophisticated and fun (probably something that is not strapless but, something that shows my personality and is appropriate for the location and type of bridal shower). My mom is throwing a high tea bridal shower (with a zebra print theme)! I wanted a different and unique bridal shower, and I love this idea. So, my question to you ladies is: where did you find your dress? Do you have any other suggestions on where to look? Thanks, loves! |
