as i am adding up at the costs of my wedding i already know that i need to make some cuts. ( tear rolling down my cheek). To have or not to have a limo? It will save me about 800$ if i am able to have my bridal party drive to the ceremony, than pics, than the reception. I know it would be nicer and i guess "more special" if i had a limo picking me up and taking me to the church but, i seriously dont have the money. what are you guys doing? ANd for those of you who are also using other mode of transportation besides a limo please leave me a comment. Thanks

I am stubborn and I dont want a limo! SO I am getting ready AT HOME(all except my dress) and I am driving my truck! My mom is pissed, but atleast it gives her an excuse to drive his car back. My dress wont fit in the car and I know I cant take it off in between. But I may even drive from the ceremony to the reception, just for the sake of being a smart a$$. We will have to see if I can drive in my dress.

We aren't having a limo but that's because we are staying at the resort where our wedding will be, we will be picked up on a trolly type thing that transports the bridal party to the Ceremony site. My Mom did pay for a party bus to pick guests up where we live (about 2 hours from where the wedding location is) because she didn't want anyone drinking and driving and of course we want everyone to have a great time =) I don't think you NEED to do a limo but if you wanted you could always just use one for the wedding arrival and ceremony and that should cut your costs significantly. OR if the departure is a big thing for you then just pay for one to pick you up from the reception at the end of the night =)

My ceremony is about 2 mins down the road from my house on the beach so the only thing I would really need transportation for would be from there to the reception which is about 20mins. FH really wanted a limo but my Mom and I agreed it would be silly so as of right now we will be using my stepmoms VERY pretty WHITE Ford Taurus. It's brand new and almost looks liek a limo lol So her and my Dad will just drive FH and I in that and then everyone else can drive separate. I live in a rural area so after the reception we are getting a school bus( yes school bus lol) to come pick anyone up that wants a ride back to town or to a hotel to make sure everyone can get home safely and enjoy themselves lol

I will be getting there using my car, my AWESOME Scion xB that I love to death so I will not be sad in the least that I dont have a limo. I would rather put the money into something like photography, because those pictures last a lifetime, the limo not so much.

How about renting something? Some rental companies have "baller" SUV's, It was much cheaper when I had done the pricing, to rent for the weekend than to have a limo. for 4-6 hours. Ask someone you're close to, who is not in the bridal party to drive it. You'll get to spend time together, and it is a way for them to be part of the wedding.
OR
If you like the old, classic cars, a lot of times the guys and gals that participate in the free, weekend car shows are willing to do a wedding for $100-$200. Maybe visit a show one weekend, pick out cars you like, and strike up a convo. with the owners?
OR
Put an ad on Craig'slist with the amount you're willing to pay, the hours you need, and the type of vehicle you want and maybe you'll get lucky!

I don't think I can afford a limo as well. What I may do is rent a Chrysler 300. It looks regal and you can designate a relative to be the driver if willing.
