DIY Wedding
Genius! OMG!
Okay so something I totally spaced, I'm a seamstress! hahaha
Why buy a runner for $$10 when I can make it for $2. Today me and Isabella (our daughter) went shopping for decorations just to break up the wedding cost throughout the year. I found some good buys on the clearance rack at a few places as well as a few cute things at Ross and Marshals! I need to hit the Home Goods Store for sure! So the idea is that I'm not just buying a bunch of wedding decor that will go into a box when I'm done or I'll end up selling on craigslist after I get sick of looking at it. I can buy things that I enjoy having in my house. yess! Also I already own a ton of shabby chic style decor.. So I can just add to my collection. Here's a little demo of some things I have and purchased today let me know what you think. Also the "runner" Is a set of curtains I made earlier this year, I would make real runners and matching napkins! |

Wedding Dress
I fell in love with this dress the moment I saw it not only that but the price is worth smiling about as well. The shoes add an unexpected pop and a little excitement to a traditional white wedding gown.

Beach theme or not?
I love the look of damask and the sophistication. On the other hand I like the beach theme and the natural element it brings to a wedding.

Going beachy
So if I'm going beachy here's my idea white table cloths with a teal runner or black and white damask runner with teal tablecloth.

The home we planned on marrying at was booked until august of next year so I'm on the prowl for a new location! Here are some places I've been looking at.

Location
Were looking to buy a house in the next 6 months so we decided to do the entire wedding ourselves to avoid a costly ceremony/ reception.
The idea is this to rent a vacation home for a week, one on a good bit of property, beautiful location, views, plenty of room and a large deck for our dance floor. |

Engagement
He Finally Proposed!
After waiting for two years, on Fathers Day June 20th 2010 he finally proposed to me! We went out to brunch with his family as we have every year, then I had a little picnic planned for the three of us; Jerry, myself and our beautiful 11 month old baby girl. We had a kabob lunch then he suggested we went for a walk. Now to paint a more clear picture this is at a state park in gold country, ca. Beautiful weather, green grass, leafy trees, and the feather river flowing by.
Our daughter had fallen asleep by the time we had weaved through the park and reached the water. We splashed our feet in the water while we talked then decided to head back, on the way we past a green field with trees randomly placed and lay beneath one. again we talked, but this conversation was about how we met, fell in love, and how he knew when we met that I was the girl he was going to spend the rest of his life with. I got an inkling that the conversation was heading somewhere big but when he said that we should continue back to the car, I figured that inkling was wrong. I got up to put my flip flops back on, I looked up to find him on one knee! My heart was racing, a rush of emotions hit me as he popped that long awaited question. I said yes of course and began to tear up. |
