My Advice
To the Brides To Be =)
So here are my words of wisdom to the brides whose wedding day is coming!
1. No matter how much you try to sleep the day before...you won't be able to. I took a sleep aid and it didn't work at all! Taking good multi-vitamins and staying hydrated is the key to looking fresh on your wedding day. 2. A good wedding day coordinator is a life saver. Even if he/she isn't a professional choose someone you know that is extremely organized and is good at communicating. I chose a friend to do this for me and she was absolutely amazing even though she had no previous experience. 3. The two areas you should not skimp out on in your budget is photography and florist/decor. We spent 2/3 of our wedding budget in these 2 areas and the results were totally worth it. 4. Make sure you plan out your wedding day schedule in advance and everyone that is in the wedding party should have a copy of it. However, be FLEXIBLE! My schedule changed every 5 minutes during the wedding but as long as you keep your wedding coordinator in the loop and he/she is doing his/her job things will run smoothly. My venue told me that my wedding was one of the smoothest weddings/events they've ever done and they've been in the wedding business for over 10 years and they are exclusively a wedding/event venue. 5. Flexibility is the KEY to not stressing out on your wedding day!!!!! Seriously, don't sweat the small stuff and just take things in stride as they come. We were 20 minutes late to our own wedding but I was determined not to let that stress me out. All my bridesmaids, photographers, makeup artist and other vendors were shocked by how calm I was the entire day. 6. Don't try to micromanage your wedding day, it'll just make you super stressed out and will dampen the experience for everyone. Trust that people will do what they are supposed to do when they should do it. 7. ENJOY your day! This day is all about celebrating you and your husband! Take the time to cherish the moments and the memories. It is after all, once in a lifetime. =) |

I'm married now!!
Mr. and Mrs. Chris Solis!!
Our wedding day was absolutely fabulous! Everything was so beautiful I could not have asked for more. God blessed us beyond anything we could have imagined.
Our day actually started a bit rough as we were running almost an hour behind schedule with getting everyone ready in the morning but somehow it all worked out so perfectly that we actually were ahead of schedule by the time the ceremony was finished and stayed ahead of schedule from then on. I could not believe how perfect our decor was! I actually didn't get to see a lot of it but everyone commented on how gorgeous all the flowers were. I can't wait to see the pro pictures of everything. We actually ended the reception early but it gave us another hour of photography time with our photographers so we took advantage of it and took a lot more wedding portraits with him after the reception even though we had already done all that we really wanted to do before the ceremony. Overall our wedding was absolutely the BEST start to our married lives together! The pics I posted are just a few I grabbed off Facebook from some of my friends to share with everyone. I won't get my pro pics back for probably 4-5 months but I know they will be worth the wait. =) |

Figgie Shoes!
They're finally here and they're amazing!!! <3
I sent my shoes to Deborah at Figgie Shoes at the very end of January and I just received them yesterday! They were soooo worth the wait and better than I could ever have imagined. If you're thinking about doing them I'd definitely say go for it! Every single piece of art on these shoes is very meaningful to both my FH and I right down to all the flower embellishments and scrolls. I am in awe of these shoes and cannot WAIT to wear them on my wedding day!

Etsy Find!
My custom garter!
I actually had this garter designed around the Hello Kitty charm on the keepsake garter. Pink is my favorite color but there was no way my FH wanted a pink wedding so this is my bit of pink! I had Mary from hellodesigncrew on Etsy help me design and make this garter.
Mary was absolutely awesome through the entire process! I took different elements from several different garters in her shop and this was the result. I am super happy with the outcome! I highly recommend Mary and her Etsy shop for your garters. Her prices are super reasonable on all her garters. I paid $25 total for this custom set. |

Eyelash Extensions
My new addiction!
My friend/boss paid for a set of eyelash extensions for me as she wanted me to try them out before the wedding. I must say that I totally love them! It makes it so much easier in the morning not having to worry about eyeliner and mascara. I've seriously cut about 5-10 min out of my normal face routine just by having them on.
They lasted me about 2 weeks before having to go back in for a fill. For the wedding I'm planning on doing the lashes fuller and slightly shorter than the current length on the pics. Only one small downside to note, when the lash extensions come out completely your natural lashes will be thinner and shorter than usual but they will grow back! If anyone is hesitating about doing this I highly recommend! |

Wedding Hair Style
My Hair Trial
I had my hair trial in January but I've been too busy to update this blog much until now. I had a couple ideas of what I wanted and took them with me to my hairdresser and this is the outcome. I think for the wedding I want her to have the bun slightly lower on my head and more centered but other than that i love it! My florist will be providing orchids for my hair the day of the wedding.
The best part about all of this...she didn't charge me a penny for the trial and said she's not going to charge me for the wedding either! I've been going to this particular hair dresser for over 10 years and this is her wedding gift to me! |

Makeup Trial!
I love my MUA!
I had my makeup trial this morning and just wanted to share the results! I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do but she made some suggestions and I went with it! I really love the outcome too. The eyes are pretty dramatic but I am all about the drama...lol. We went with a dark plum purple on my eyes, false lashes (for the wedding I'm doing lash extensions), and a pretty pale pink lip gloss. First set of pics were done without flash inside and the second set were done in day light. Enjoy!

Figgie Shoes
I'm GETTING A PAIR!!!!!
So I'm sure a lot of you have heard about Deborah and Figgie Shoes. She hand paints and personalizes your shoes to whatever you want. I knew I really really wanted her to paint a pair of shoes for my wedding mostly because I can't get super elaborate heels (my FH is only 1" taller than me) and I couldn't find any flat or short heel shoes I liked.
They are expensive considering this will be one of the only times I will ever wear them but to me it's worth it. I'm doing them as a surprise for my FH and I'm going to have Deb paint things that are really meaningful to us as a couple. Total after she paints them I'll have spent a little over $300 on my shoes. I'm sooo excited to see how they turn out! |
