Wedding Cake
I Found My Wedding Cake!!!
![]() OMG!! This is the most beautiful tiffany theme wedding cake I have ever seen. I ABSOLUTELY love it. It is perfect. And I already have the cake topper(I think thats what clinched for me) so it is like it was fate lol lol. The only thing I am going to change are the flowers, instead of them I just want more dramatic bows, I don't care for the flowers. But other than that this is my cake YAYY!!!!! I just love it. My cake flavor is going to be red velvet w/ cream cheese filling and the icing is going to be butter creme and only the bows and ribbon are fondant. What do you ladies think? P.S. a thanks go out to divabride, she is the one that gave me the website to go on. THANKS GIRLS!!!!!! :) |

Ask a Question
What Do you Think????
![]() Hey ladies got a question. I am a huge Taylor Dayne fan I love her music (even if it is 80 pop) lol. Her song I will always love you is beautiful and I love her lyrics. I want it to be my song I dance to for the first time as a wife, but it gets a lil midtempo in some places, and it is a slow song but it is not a soft song ( I hope you guys get what I am saying) Taylor has a very strong, soulful voice so the song tempos vary throughout. I don't know how well I would do dancing to it lol. What do you ladies think? |

Ask a Question
Ladies please I need your thoughts!!!!!
![]() This is going to be a long post ladies so get comfy lol. Ok I put down the deposit for my venue today, THANK GOD!!!!! I am so grateful that in this trying time in our economy I am still able to afford the wedding of my dreams and not be put in a bad situation by it (knock on wood lol). So this was an exciting day for me. I met with the sales rep at the hotel, which by the way if anyone is thinking of going to the embassy suites hotel in Downey California and have your wedding there, you must talk to Isela Arroyo she is an absolute gem. But we finalized my menu and I looked at the reception room and the patio area again. Now here is where my situation begins. So while we were looking at the patio area (this is where I am holding the actual ceremony and it is connected to the ballroom where I am going to have the reception keep this in mind as you read on) Isela tells me of another bride who is going to get married in the gazebo/ atrium area on the staircase. Now this really intrigued me because I was a lil worried about weather, not just rain but heat as well. It can get pretty warm here in may, and we also have rain in may as well. So when she told me this we went back inside and she showed me how it is going to be set-up. Now ladies this is where I need you guys infinite knowledge and opinions. Now if you look at pictures 2, 3 and 4 these are pictures of the patio area. Pic #2 is of the outside entrance to the patio area. I really like this because it gives my wedding an excusive edge like VIP status at the club lol. Pic # 3 and 4 are pics of the actual patio area. I love all the trees and plants, the tropical look to the area and the privacy element as well as the fact that it is connected to the reception room. The things I don't like about it is the size of the patio they can only fit like 89 people in there and that may be a bit cramped and the weather as well. If it is not raining it will be hot and I will have a lot of older relatives at my wedding. Now pic# 5 is of the inside area. If you look to your left of the pic you will see where they will set-up the chairs for my guests. In the far left in the back that is the elevator where I will come up to the 2nd floor walk along the way to the top of the staircase ( and all my guest will be able to see me the whole time) which is to the right of the pic. My FH would just walk up that small flight of stairs at the far right to the round part of the staircase. that is where the officiant and the arch everything will be. I will come down the main set of stairs to the round area, and my wedding party would be standing along the main staircase. I love the look and the feel of the atrium. With the outside area my aunt was going to sew me some seat cushions (for the stone benches) and draperies to hang along the walls and stuff. With the inside part I don't have to worry about none of that, except I would probably buy a gazillion rolls of Tiffany blue tulle and wrap the stair rail in it to give it a more personal touch but that's it. the whole tropical, Mediterranean theme is very beautiful and inviting to me. Those are the pros, now here are the cons. If you look in the far back of the pic that is a restaurant that they will not close. The path in the middle of the atrium is also open to people where they can just walk through while the ceremony is commencing (but I was thinking that I can just post an usher at either end and have them ask the hotel guests to go around). And the big gazebo in the middle of the picture could possibly be booked for and engagement at the same time so something could be going on there as well. So I feel that l lose the privacy element completely. Isela was saying that at the moment of my wedding I am not going to be at concerned about that. And that no matter what, it is not going to take away from my day, and that all eyes will be on me. And I kind of get that and that is why I am considering the inside ceremony. what do you ladies think. I hope I explained the situation with enough detail so that you all can get a clear idea of what I am talking about. But please if you can I am really interested in seeing what the WBC crew thinks lol. I would your ya opinions to help me make my decision. Thanks in advance ladies :) P.S, I told you guys it was going to be long lol. |

Wedding Decoration
My Matchbooks and Napkins came in YAYY!!
![]() I honestly was not going to order the personalized matchbooks and napkins because I thought they were corny and old fashioned. I remember seeing those at my aunts wedding back in 1989 lol. But when Wedding channel.com had them on sale $17.99 for 100 napkins and $17.99 for 100 matchbooks, I said what the heck I jumped on the sale and ordered them, and they look great!!!! They do look a shade dark for tiffany blue (I ordered them in robins egg blue) but they are still in the color scheme and they came out really nice. I am going to put them on the bar outside on the patio. I think they are going to look fabulous. The matches say "Our Wedding Day" with our names and the date, and the napkins has a picture of champagne flutes and our name and date. The pictures are a little blurry sorry :). If you ladies are ordering I suggest you check weddingchannel.com from time to time or sign up for them and they will send you a email when they go on sale. I got both of them plus shipping for just over $50. Not bad huh :) |

Ask a Question
What kind of Kiss are you doing? Tongue or no tongue?
![]() So me and my FH had an interesting conversation yesterday. We were talking about what kind of kiss we were going to do when the minister say the he may kiss the bride. Now for me I didn't think that there was any need for discussion because I thought it was obvious. I am getting married and I want you to slob me down in front of all of our friends and family lol. Well I was shocked to hear him say that he just wanted to peck and do you ladies know why????..... Because his momma is going to be there and he is embarrassed to kiss like that in front of her WTF!!!!!!!!!!! In my opinion a peck kiss is an insult to me. We don't peck kiss ever. So why would I think we were going to peck at the wedding. So I asked him how about just an open mouth kiss without tongue he still said no WTF!!!! It's not like his mom doesn't know we are together or something. I want something more passionate. Ok ok he don't have to slob me down in front of the guest lol. But I want something more than a peck. We are getting married for god's sake this is a big step I want some passion. Am I making a big deal out of nothing? What kind of kiss do you ladies want? And have you and your FH talked about it? Feedback please :) |

Ceremony
Guestbook, ring pillow and flower basket
![]() Ok so I was at this store named Alin's Party Supply. I don't know if there are any in other states but it is like a party city but I think it is way better. So I was in there this week and I found the cutest set. It had the book, pillow, basket and garter in it. And it is ivory and it has this weave pattern on it and in every corner of the pattern there is a rhinestone it is so cute. I personally haven't seen one like it so I had to buy it. At $70 it was a steal. Now here is the dilemma I actually had a woman make one for me in my wedding colors. She had some made already but her Tiffany blue was darker than mine so I asked her could she swap the colors and make the ivory the more prominent color and the Tiffany blue the accent color. She said she could and was working on it as we speak. That was a week before I saw this one. So now I feel bad because she made it for me but now I don't want it. She actually has a bunch of other stuff that I want to buy from her but now I am afraid to call because I know she is going to ask about the set lol. But I really want the other stuff she has for me. What a dilemma lol lol!!!! |

Wedding Favors
I am getting what I wanted YAYY!!!!!!!!!!!
Let me start off by saying that I live in the best place on earth when it comes to bargain shopping. I live in Los Angeles and we have the best downtown in the world if I do say so myself lol lol :). I have found so many deals down there it is not even funny. All you need is a free day and some comfortable shoes and you can find anything down there that you want or have seen on the internet cheaper. No joke :). I really wanted to have diamond paper weights engraved with our name and wedding day for my wedding favors. But as I researched the idea I soon realized that this was a very expensive favor. I wanted the medium or large weights and those run from 4.00 to 6.00 a piece and I need 100 of them so that is $400 to $600 and that is not even including the price for engraving them. So I licked my wounds in defeat because that is way too much and not to mention I don't have that kind of money to spend anyway. So I was downtown getting some things for my centerpieces when I found a guy that sell the paperweights and engrave them. So I asked him about my favors and what I wanted. He told me that he would do 110 medium paperweights or 100 large paperweights and engrave whatever I want on them for $250. CHA-CHINGGG!!!!!!!!!!. PAYDIRT!!!! I am so excited and I am going back next week to put down my deposit for them. He said that they will be ready in two weeks. I am so happy that I am able to afford to get what I want. YAYYY!!!!! |

Weight Loss
Progress
Well like I said in my previous post this time is just flying by and not only did I still have a lot to do, but I also had not lost a pound. So if nothing else this has given me motivation to get on the ball and lose weight. I know that a lot of people have negative things to say about the atkins program but you gotta admit you can't beat the results. And not to mention that this is the only plan that works for me. I want to lose 50 to 70 pounds by my wedding and if I am going to get even close to that I need something that works immediately. And also I read in an article with a woman defending atkins, she was talking about how you don't have to eat a lot of meat and fatty foods for atkins to work you can eat healthy alternative foods and still cut down carbs and lose weight without damaging your overall health. She lost a 100 pounds on atkins in 10 months and she is keeping it off by working out 3 times a week and eating healthy and keeping her carbs under control. And I am mimicing her plan. I have done atkins in the past and lost 40 pounds but I gained it all back because I just went right back to my old eating habits and I stopped working out. I think I would have gained the weight back no matter what program I had used to lose it. You have to make a lifestyle change and I understand that this time around. I have lost 8 pounds in two weeks. So like I said, say what you want about atkins you can't beat the results :). Wish me luck ladies. What are you guys doing to lose weight before your big day? |
