Excited!
Bridal Shower This Weekend!!
I can't wait for this Sunday! It's my bridal shower!! Instead of having more than one, we decided that having one big one would be easier and a lot more fun. My mom and my bridesmaids are planning it so I've been told that I'm not allowed to know anything at all!
The past two years have been crazy for me with being in multiple weddings (2 cousins and 2 friends, not to mention participating in many wedding festivities for weddings I haven't been in). So, going to a wedding event that is being put on for me specifically is so exciting! It hasn't fully set in that it's happening yet haha! |

Countdown
99 Days Left!!
I can't believe we are officially into the double digits! We started out with 1 year and 8 months before the wedding (609 days lol) and now we're down to 99 (3 months 8 days)!
I have pretty much all the big things done, there are just a bunch of little things that keep coming up. It seems like there's something new that has to be done everyday! I can't wait though! I'm so excited! I have been to two weddings within the past month and they have gotten me even more excited!! |

Wedding Photography
Engagement Photo's
This past Wednesday we had our engagement photo's done. We had them done in the past but weren't exactly satisfied with them. Our photography package came with an engagement photo session so we were so excited to finally get some professional pictures. We had them taken in a small vineyard town near Niagara Falls, Ontario called Niagara-On-the-Lake.
The photographer was amazing. Her name is Kendel and she was so fun and easy-going. She made it very relaxed for us. I love each and every picture that she took and absolutely can't wait to see our photo's on our wedding day! DIY Wedding
Ceremony Programs
I have been searching forever for a unique idea for our ceremony programs and haven't found anything I liked. I eventually went on to the Martha Stewart Weddings website and saw these beautiful and creative programs. The front and back covers are made of fabric (it says taffeta but we chose a nice satin). There is a ribbon that ties it together too.
Our colours for our wedding are brown, ivory and gold so we made the satin ivory with a chocolate brown ribbon and the printing inside is coloured chocolate too. I started cutting and sewing them tonight and they already look amazing. I like them more than just the typical paper style programs. I will hopefully post some pics when they are finished to show how they look! |

Countdown
5 More Months!
There are 5 more months exactly today until our wedding! Time has been flying by so fast!! We started out with just under two years of an engagement and now we are less then half a year. All we need to do is wait it out through the summer and the month of September until we're home free haha! I'm so excited!
Any other October 23rd 2010 brides? |

Wedding Reception
New First Dance Song!
Originally we both chose Brad Paisley's 'Then' as our first dance song, but lately I've been feeling like it was way over played when it was popular and now I just don't even feel any emotion when I hear it. I have been really loving Lady Antebellum lately and we have chosen to change our first dance song to 'When You Got a Good Thing'. I love the sound and the lyrics.
Can't wait to dance with my husband on our wedding day to this song! |

Slippers!
Slippers Instead of Shoes!
Hey ladies!
I recently went shopping for wedding stuff with my family (specifically shoes). I would love to wear tall heels on my wedding day, but I am 5'7" almost 5'8" so I'm choosing to remain shorter than my FH haha. The style that I have been searching for is ballet slipper styled with a shimmery, satin finish. When we went shopping we looked in every shoe store and found nothing. All the shoes were either too white (my dress is ivory), or too expensive. Eventually we made our way to the last store. It was a small store and didn't exactly sell formal shoes. I didn't find anything that I liked as I made my way to the back of the store. I ended up in the slippers section. Then I immediately saw a pair of soft, plush, ivory slippers. I fell in love! When I tried them on they were so comfortable. I didn't plan on wearing slippers at my wedding and I know it's kind of strange, but I actually have grown to love the idea. Now my feet won't hurt on my wedding day and they look cute too! Anyone else wearing slippers instead of shoes?? What do you girls think? :) |

DIY Wedding
Need Help with Monogram!
I really would love to create my own monogram for our wedding. The only problem is that I don't have any nice enough script fonts in my Microsoft Word program. Right now I'm using the Microsoft Word 2003 program.
Can anyone help me figure out how to either download a nicer font or find a website where I can make my own monogram free? Any help is appreciated! |

Wedding Photography
So Excited to Meet Our Photographer!
We have been searching for our wedding photographer for months! Both sides of the family know people who do photography but either they aren't available or the quality isn't what we are looking for.
Finally, we have found the perfect photographer. We found her through someone we know. Her price is the cheapest we have seen and her photos are beautiful. The website is www.kotwophotography.com. Engagement Photos
Finally Got Our Photos Done!
I'm so happy and excited to show my friends and family our engagement photos! We finally got them done. A woman that my mom works with does photography on the side so she offered to take them for us. She was house sitting her sisters place for a few days so we decided that would be the location. It was a gorgeous $750,000 house located in a beautiful upper-class neighbourhood in Ancaster. The Hamilton Golf and Country Club was literally just on the other side of their backyard.
The pictures turned out great and I am so pleased with how the whole night went. There were four of us there and we had a fantastic time listening to music, taking great photos and drinking champagne. I am so glad that we lucked out with our photographer and the location. I will post a couple of the pics that were taken on here so you can all have a taste :) |
