Seeing as it is the Holiday season, I wanted to share this delicious recipe that is my all time favo...
Fun Monograms & Such - How fun is it to make something your own
... with your own initials, colors, story, what-have-you.
I love customizing things.
I love this site. I don't know exactly how or where I would use this, but I hope to when I get all hitched and stuff.
You've Just Gotta Love a Good Quote
Especially when you're feeling melancholy for no good reason
One of my favorite blogs is:
La Dolce Vita. It is super awesome. Paloma has a great eye for detail and a wonderful knack of photoshoping (or whatever she uses) beautiful quotations into works of art.
Check it out. It will either motivate you or make you smile. Both of which are very good things.
By the way, I want this bolero. Period. This is it. Johanna Hehir. Of course it's probably not available in the US. Major bummer!
Way too expensive Zac Posen dress.... this is awesome. I'd love this for a bridesmaid dress... YES!
This is a good idea.... I don't know why I'm all into lace right now, but I sure am.
This is my 3rd place dress..... I know I shouldn't feel like I made the wrong decision... but what if I did?
Here's the back of 3rd place.
This was my #2. I think I totally made the wrong decision. EFF....
This Girl Is Totally Into Sleeves Right Now & Of course, I bought a strapless dress...
ha! how appropriate!
I bought the best dress in the world -- for me, of course it is strapless and I'm just really into sleeves (cap sleeves to be more particular) right now. Maybe I can just get away with a bolero?
Here's some pretties to gaze at in the meantime... because I actually have a computer right now YEAH! I need to buy a new computer :( boo.
and now that I'm looking at sleeves, of course I'm looking at the other dresses that I didn't end up getting....
insert hyperventilating moment....riiiiiiiight here!
Yea, what if I picked the wrong dress? Why am I freaking out, you may ask?
I think it's b/c I showed my mom my dress this past week and she didn't like it. She didn't say that she didn't like it, but she said that she wouldn't have expected me to pick THAT dress.... and that it was interesting. Which is short in mom-talk for, 'Michonne, your dress is not pretty, is not what I wanted you to wear'. How do you give a dress back? Maybe I should just get it dry-cleaned (b/c it's a floor model and a ginormous deal) and then try to sell it on one of these sites??
OH GIRLS, I need your help. Please help me. Here. Freaking out.
How do I remedy this. UGh.
Flowers....and General All Around Bling! Just because I'm liking flowers right now.
Yes, more flowers.
Mainly because I cannot get ahold of anyone regarding a venue so I'm going to focus on some bling for my own sanity.
It's funny, I think I'm into Ranunculus.. not just for wedding stuffs, but for everything. I went to the local scary Home Depot and bought a bunch of flowers (basically to make me fall back in love with my house -- I'm a bit disenchanted since the break-in or as my coworkers like to put it 'You've been burgled' which always makes me laugh.) all being ranunculus. They're delightful flowers. :)
I think I'll always have a place in my heart for anemones though. YES! awesome!
Just also want to mention that the yellow/white/gray Rubie Green headboard is to die for. I think I could make my wedding inspiration around that one headboard alone.
Venue Contact Issues? I am having trouble making contact, Houston.
I am the ultimate commitment-phobe to really anything, paint, colors, hair length, shoe colors, house trim, anything you name and I'm sure I've been indecisive about it.
About a week ago, my mom came to town to get my butt moving on my wedding. Basically to make me pick a venue. We went to a few places and nothing looked neat, fun or very Mike and I for that matter.
All of a sudden it hit me: we needed to get married at The Hotel San Carlos... (I think) and it would be perfectly historic/retro/vintage for us! I cannot get ahold of the booking/reception lady for the life of me, though.
Other than that, no big news on the getting-married-front for this chica.
I have decided that Phoenix is not exactly my dream town to be married in. Not alot of options for me. I would love something outdoors (not so smart in this desert we've got here, though), something with green grass and neat old trees (green? hahahahhah! not here), historic buildings are a possibility (Nope. Phoenicians do not like anything > 40 years old, our motto is tear down and replace. STAT!), I think I might just be entirely too picky.
Compromising is not my favorite thing :( boo.
Getting in SHAPE!
I am attempting to start running again...
It is really hard to find motivation to get my hiney moving after a 10-hour day of running around a concrete floor answering phones, doing things that I do not think are entirely necessary, other peoples' jobs b/c they are lazy, and in general taking care of the babies at my hospital b/c not everyone has the work ethic that I do.
Really, I do not mind it that much b/c I would rather not be bored so I am not complaining, but merely explaining why I am having such a hard time motivating myself to workout.
I am not a small-busted lady. I KNOW I am not alone when I say that I routinely wear 3-4 sports bras for a good run. If I don't.. IT. HURTS. Bad. Really, really, really bad. Harken back to the days when your boobs were actually growing... that pain multiplied by approximately 10 thousand. Yikes!
WHICH is why I was super stoked when I found this new bra. It's from Title 9 and it is called the 3-reasons sports bra, it wicks, it flattens, it spreads, and it keeps the girls from moving. Period. It is super duper awesome. I want one in every color except for the fact that it costs $45.
Anyone know of a super duper awesome bra that holds the girls down and doesn't cut into your ribcage or your wedding budget?
I'm all ears! and you know what, I don't care about uniboob, I just don't want uniboob bouncing around and causing pain. :)
Gag me with a splintered wooden spoon.
I just adore these...for every day use even!
Want these minus the ankle strap.
Come on, ladies these are pretty vintage flats!
These are cute for the heel-shy lady,
Yup, big fan of Irregular choice. Not the ankle strap so much though.
These could look adorable!
Romantical and awesome!!
On the right girl - would be awesome
This girl is totally into grey and yellow right now.
And they even have a pared down version for heel-shy ladies! Yeah!
Shoe Selection, Ladies
Please Do Not Give Up on Yourself and Wear Ugly Shoes... Please?
C'mon ladies! Let's not give up on ourselves. We love ourselves, right?
Wearing sweatpants in public runs a very thin line....and for obvious reasons, so should Crocs.
I even work in the healthcare field and I do not wear them. They really are not all that comfortable. Do not provide much in the way of support, are are not all that protective with holes everywhere...imagine a procedure with liquids dripping off tables, etc... riiiiight into those little holes. Yep. They're a terrible idea.
If you're afraid of being taller than the Mr., we can work with that! Let's get you gals into kitten heels or super cute flats!!
If you're not anywhere near being too tall for the occasion or if you don't care, there are some awesome shoes out there.
Just get over the pain, it won't even be an issue after the wedding ... right? Am I totally missing the boat here? or am I crazy? I would rather be somewhat sore and quite possibly carrying around a really cute pair of shoes rather than wear a pair of flats... that's just me. :)
I'm probably going to hell for even thinking these thoughts, right?
What About a Non-Traditional Wedding Party?
I am still going back and forth on colors and peoples' feelings...
What about something like this?
It would be kind of theme-ish... which could be totally fun or ridiculously embarrassing 10 years from now...
I really do like this idea for my other close gals who will not be bridesmaids BUT have played ginormous and important roles in forming the person that I am today..
ahhh dang it, I've gone and gotten all sentimental awwww....
Ain't Nothin' Gonna Hold Me Down
Oh No, I've Gotta Keep On Movin'
Yup, I'm using the fiance's laptop. Yep, robbers who steal my crappy and broken/breaking laptop. BAHA! Jokes on YOU! :)
SO no new laptop yet, no new tv, but I did get an iPhone.... hoping I could somehow access my iTunes. Alas, the answer is no. Very sad because I"m totally into Katy Perry and Taylor Swift right now and I'd very much so like to break it down to a few of their tunes while making dinner or getting ready for work. Boo. OH well.
Like I said, my house was broken into just over a week ago, so I have done NOTHING wedding-related.
I really need to get moving into high gear b/c I still do not have a place. The fact that my dream place is booked until March 2010 and then it is a lottery for weekend dates from there on out is somewhat intimidating.
My mom is coming to town in 3 weeks. I think she senses that I am dragging my feet on finding another venue and she might be trying to light a fire.
Do you gals feel that your mother is pressuring you?
To get married somewhere particular?
To wear something particular?
To select certain colors for both you and your gals?
ugh, those good catholic mommies :)
P.S. thanks for your kind comments :) You girls rock!
My house got broken into :(
They took everything.
This past Wednesday while I was at work, some crazies broke into my house!! Terrible. Money: gone. Aaalll electronics: gone. Alcohol: gone - don't care about that, just veerrrryyyy interesting. I am afraid that I interrupted them, too because of their odd pattern of going through my house, which is super scary because what if I had gotten myself into a situation... Creepy. Anyways I'm just glad my dogs are ok aanndd that they got my craptastic, close-to-tidying laptop (haha! Joke's on them! They took a broken laptop!), iPod, stereo,my flatscreen tv, and a few other random odd personal things. Rude. Hope you ladies are all doing much better! Xxoo
