The Hotel San Carlos before there were sky-scrapers on all 4 sides of this building.
The Historic Home in Encanto/Palmcroft tha I ADORE. Love. Swoon over. Le Sigh.
Fun.. I don't know how I could/would incorporate this, but I just love everything about this.
Wanted to string lights and lanterns in area over pool and patio at that VRBO house.... :(
Would have been easy with an intimate space (think that house) but now don't know how to decorate a park/palm trees this way... ???
omg. SO loving this. maybe there's a way to make this work out inside of The Tuck Shop?

Venues That Did Not Work Out
I Just Cannot Seem to Break Up With One.
So I am feeling a little butt-hurt about venues that didn't work out.

It would have been rad to have whole shin-dig at the Hotel San Carlos. It's easy, downtown, historic (Heck, it even has a Marilyn Monroe Room AND is supposed to be a haunted building! C'mon, this is really pretty neat!), close to our homes in Coronado, and charming.

I am sad that that the VRBO didn't end up working out. I still have dreams about getting married at this place. From the historic home, to the lovely backyard...... ohhhhh love...

I am still trying to figure out how to make it work, but I am just not feeling all that creative right now. Maybe if I could get those PediCab people (http://www.azpedicab.com/group.html (link for my own reference later ;)) after a quick bit of research, it costs $60/hour/bike + travel costs = Yikes!) to run people from a public park in Encanto 4-5 blocks to the rental house.... hhhhmm..... You see, one of the major problems with the house rental was that the real estate agent setting up the VRBO made it crystal clear that the neighborhood did not like riff-raff nor did they like a bunch of cars parked on their street. Which I completely understand and would not force them to endure. I am a respectful young lady!

Hm...... more thinking to be done on this matter, I can see. It's obvious I'm not ready to break up with that stupid VRBO. Ugh.

Pretty much my dream wedding - this sums up EVERYTHING. Down to the wedding gown, foliate, colors, AND lighting!

Busy Little bee - Looking At Veils
I have been really busy with work, Mike's greyhound (who just got very sick and had to spend nearly a week in the hospital - hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, it happens to humans too!) and fixing up my house... the continuous process.

SOOOOO.... for relaxation and more importantly, FUN --- I have been checking out some super sweet veils.

Now I adore the vintage birdcage veil. Love it. Love it to death, but I am wondering and pondering, probably a tad too much, and think that this timeless style might clash a bit with the dress that I have committed to. SO, I might get to go with another style that I love!!!

Something fun.... little less timeless, but very beautiful still. The boutique where my dress is at had a trunk show for Toni Federici this weekend. Usually I just have to delete their voice mails because I am way too busy and it's always on a weekend that I work, as was this trunk show. But I decided to look his work up online and was completely blown away and I love his work!

Has anyone tried on any of this veils? I still need to go into the boutique and actually scout out the damage.... Ugh, bet they're ridiculously priced, huh any idea on maybe how much??? Yikes.

Eyelash Extensions -Yeah, I'm Asking About It.
Has anybody gotten them before?

They look really great! So pretty!

1.) I'm kind of a drama-for-your-mama-queen. I'm a wee bit afraid that I'll find the only eyelash-extension-er-person who will manage to glue my eyelid to my eyeball or something else twice as catastrophic.

2.) How long do they really last?

3.) Will I look like a camel or a giraffe?

Yes Cartoons. Because I can.
I like to think that cartoons make people laugh when they are stressed out.

I am stressed out because of work. No I am not at work, but alas I am still stressed out.

In light of said stress, I would like to share one of my favorite cartoony-people. Natalie Dee. I have posted some of her stuff on here before and here are some more!

I had all the best intentions of making everything wedding-related, but it's just not working out so well so I'm posting whatever makes me happy :)

I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

Of Sorts - Real Wedding In Bisbee, AZ At the Shady Dell
This place is a super duper cute little place. It's a bunch of vintage airstream trailers that the owners of this park have lovingly restored to pristine condition.

It seriously is a timewarp stepping onto their property. Each trailer has vintage EVERYTHING inside. Vintage cups, plates, sheets, curtains, wallpaper, even BOARD GAMES!

It is super fun. Can't wait to take some pictures and share.

What a fun place to get hitched!

It's going to be a Rock-A-Billy affair to remember. (the couple is pretty rockabilly). We're headed out tomorrow for a Sunday AM ceremony. I hope that there's not too much rain for them!!!

The Proposal
And How We Met, I Guess I Never Quite Shared These Either??!!
We both live in one of the Historic Districts in Phoenix, AZ. It is not one of the fancy-schmancy districts.... but it is an up-and-coming district with alot of character. I moved from Reno, NV to Phoenix in March of 2007 began volunteering for the Arizona Adopt a Greyhound (AAGI) group in an attempt to meet people and make some friends while fostering 3 greyhounds as well as taking care of my own 2 greyhounds. Our neighborhood is small, so I would see Mike and various other greyhound owners walking their greyhounds in the mornings, but we had never met. We also had no friends in common. I even remember driving past him on occasion (very early in the mornin on my way to work and I would pretty much do a double-take each time I saw him - I think he's just as handsome as the day is long).

Well, one hot Phoenix summer morning we both got up very early in an attempt to avoid the 110+ heat. I to move the sprinkler around my front yard so that it would look like someone actually lived here and loved their home while Mike was up to take his spastic greyhound (Ihop) for a walk. As luck would have it, Mike walked by my house at exactly the time that I felt the need to move my sprinkler. It was at this moment, I decided that I had absolutely nothing to lose if I approached him, I mean c'mon - he's got a greyhound! I had five at the time, that totally gave us something in common to talk about - I might get a friend out of this! So I run over to the sidewalk and pretended to be interested in his greyhound and in setting up a greyhound play-date, all the while wondering why he is backing away from me like I have the plague or 11 eyes. Afterwards, I just assumed that he was married and he thought I was being aggressive. No big deal, I had nothing invested to begin with. Who cares if some random hot guy in the neighborhood thinks I am hitting on him?!!

Long story short (Mike hates this part) he was backing away from me because he was wearing a pair of wrinkled up shorts, mismatched socks, dirty lawn shoes, he had not yet brushed his teeth and he was afraid I would notice and never want to talk to him again. Needless to say, I didn't notice, he has been much better in doing his laundry, and his hygiene is wonderful. I know it's long-winded, but it's funny. :)

Mike proposed to me right after a dog-walk....exactly on the same spot where we met (according to him) on January 3, 2009. We were finishing up a short dog walk, which we do daily, and he turns to me and asks me, 'Isn't this the exact same spot right here where we met?" At this point, I'm turning down the path to my house, my back is to him and I'm non-chalantly saying, 'Actually no, we met right over there (pointing) across the street'. To which he grabs my wrist to bring me back to the sidewalk and he replies, 'Well you'll remember this one better' and he got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. It was incredibly romantic and wonderful all at the same time.

Ask a Question
Dogs at Our Wedding ...And By Dogs, I Mean OUR Dogs
.... I don't know.... is it rude for me to have my own dog at my own wedding?? Is this a safe practice?

I guess my nightmare is that my 85+ year old grandfather who is nearly blind will end up tripping over my frail little greyhound. It will be a horrible, terrible mess and then I'll have to reveal my true colors when I rush my dog to the vet and leave my family member in a blind haze.

KIDDING.

No, I am a bit worried, though. What if we do have a tripping episode? I would be such a wreck with worry. Maybe we should not do it? I'm leaning towards not doing it though..... greyhounds are notorious for bolting when they see something white and/or fluffy. I would be heartbroken if one of our greys got away because someone who doesn't have dogs left a gate open. Also, I'm thinking the place where we finally hold our event might not want doggies :) I understand. :)

Only reason I even pose the question is because Ihop (Mike's greyhound) is the reason that we even met in the first place. All 3 of our dogs were there when he proposed.

Wedding Rings And Jewelry
I Can't Believe I Haven't Shared, Yet!?!
Wow, I was just looking on here and it finally dawned on me: I haven't shared with you peeps on here what my ring looks like.

Well, it's a Tiffany ring, and it is round. It's wonderful in platinum. I adore it and am even more excited that my future husband selected it all by himself. When it comes down to important things that will be lasting forever, I am traditional.

:)

Serious question, though. Gals with rings like this one, what are you going to do for the wedding band? The Tiffany setting has that round part around the diamond.... does it drive anybody else nuts that the wedding band will not sit flush against the engagement band? Or does this really even matter?

Help??
