Wedding Dress
My First Love
I had been engaged once before, when I was 16. Go ahead and laugh. Actually, the funniest part is that he is engaged to a 16 year old again, despite the fact that he's 20 and it's his niece in law.

Anyways, I had happened across this dress all those years ago and it was, I had thought, already discontinued. I have just found it on the net for around 500. I guess either it was not discontinued or they started making it again.

I'm looking at it now, and though I'm crying (which is hard to make me do!), I know it's probably not the dress I will want. I'd love to try it on after my surgeries I plan on getting. I want to look quite a bit like that girl, and maybe that's why I really loved it, especially in a time where I was actually very confused about myself.

This picture has been on my hard drive for almost five years now. Wow.

What was your first love dress? Did it look good on you? Is the one you picked anywhere near it. Mine will probably be of the same vein, honestly. I wonder how long they will keep making it and if I can find it in a store nearby.

Might be worth buying it just to have it if I get a good bartending job after I'm 21 like I hope to.

Any other trans out there? Breast redux?
HELLO BRIDES.

So I have something to tell you all. I am a genderqueer. There's a lot of other words for similar things and genderqueer can end up being an umbrella term, so I will explain by saying that mentally I do not conform to one gender.

I rather be a mother, but also an uncle. I call people 'they' quite often instead of 'he' or 'she' and wish people would do the same for me, or at least call me by male pronouns more often to cover the entire spectrum.

I am not necessarily a 'man in a woman's body' but more that if I could have no genitalia at all, I think I would be happiest. I do think that I'd probably have been better off being raised as a man, but you get what you get, and I do not want a sex change.

However, I do want a breast reduction. An extreme one, going from an F to, I don't know, perhaps an A or B?

I'd also like to say that while I like to act gentlemanly, I am the bride of this wedding. I've always wanted to be the bride of Frankie-stein. That is not an issue for me.

However, deciding my breast reduction is. While I want to visibly be impossible to tell what gender I am (and thus based on who I am, and not what I have down south), I am not sure if I would still like to have breasts or not on my wedding day.

Should I wait? That's still a long time for me to be uncomfortable in my own body. I'm trying to lose weight, in hopes I will lessen my curves. But I wonder if having no curves in a wedding gown will make me unsure about how feminine I look on the one day I want to be supergirly. :C

Are there other trans out there? Perhaps actual operative ones or androgynes? I would love to read their experiences.

Wedding Dress
The White Side
Awhile back, I did a post on colored dresses. While that idea isn't totally out of the water, I've ended up straying away from peacocks and focusing more on a vintage/retro feel, so I'm thinking lighter for my dress.

Actually, what I would love color-wise, is a dress that is silver/ivory or some other mixture of grey && a warm tone.

I love lace. HEHEHE.

I want something that looks like it could be my mothers or grandmothers, generation-wise.

I need to go try on dresses to see what looks good on me. I'm short-waisted, plus-size (though I'm dieting so that will probably change before the end of 2012), and big-busted.

What one do you like? How did you choose your dress? Any dresses you like you want to send my way?

Wedding Colors
Live In Technicolor
Based on old photos, which you'll notice lose the intensity (or never had it, I'm not sure I wasn't there) of the black. A no-black wedding! :D No white either. Ivory!

Couldn't decide what we wanted, pink or peach or coral or salmon because all are important. A lot of vintage dresses for bridesmaids are in the coral-peach tones, while retro stuff we want to incorporate in the wedding (polaroid camera & typewriters) come in pinks.

What do you think?

Should I feel disappointed?
My friend Noni is getting married! October of next year. Yay!

She's my best (female) friend and is aware she's going to be my MOH. She says I'm her bestie as well, but she has more friends than I do so it's a bit different any way you split it.

I don't know who she's having her BMs be, but I am not one of them. She asked if I could do the photography because she cannot afford professional photography. This is right up my alley, honestly, I dabble in photography and am saving for a good Canon. I, of course, accepted because I'd love to add to my portfolio as well as some other personal reasons (spite of someone, I'm bad I know). However, I can't help feel a little sad that I didn't end up being at least one of the BMs. :C

What do you guys think? I know being chosen as a photographer is a compliment and an honor, but still...

EDIT: subtitle used to be "should I feel offended?" but I think that was too harsh for my actual feelings. Sorry.

Wedding Invitation
Polaroid Invites Demo
I simply could not wait to test out what they would look like. Even though our picture is totally goofy and old.

I think I will invest in two types of stamps when we get around to it, horizontal and vertical, that way I can decide based on the picture. Still don't know what our colors will be yet.

Also, look at the examples of people have done a polaroid postcard. There's whole groups of people that do this. Like penpals, but more photopals. Mine will look slightly more formal, however.

Decided that, for now at least, we like the whole who, what, when, etc. Very journalist, and that kind of fits into our ideals.

Opinions more than welcome.

Wedding Invitation
A Polaroid Postcard
Let's be honest, I'm the creative one in the relationship. I oughta be, anyways, considering how much I spent on art school and how much work I put into the art that hangs int he Artists Studio Association here in our town. Plus I decorate cakes.

Frankie was totally cool with me taking over. He wants to know, but he trusts me to make it perfect, just tell him if I need anything. He loved my ideas concerning retro and cameras and typewriters.

Then he comes back into the room and is like. "Hey, what about Polaroids?"

"What about them?" They are pretty much the inspiration for the theme in the first place, I'm not exactly sure what he meant.

"Get a bunch of pictures taken of us, throw a stamp and type the address on it, then type the invitation itself on the back."

Blew me away. It's perfect. Right now we're unsure about how to type on a Polaroid, since they aren't exactly bendy enough to go through a printer or typewriter, but we'll figure it out. Any ideas?

What do you guys think?

Ask a Question
Weight Loss Goal?
Hello ladies. ?

I've decided I'm going to lose weight. Not really for the wedding, but they do go hand in hand. More I have become aware that between aging & having kids, I'm sure to gain weight, and while perhaps I'm okay with myself now, I won't be okay with myself with 50 extra pounds.

I'm currently around 240 lbs.

So I've decided to lose weight, but I'm not sure how much. I really don't mind being large, it keeps me from looking exactly like my mom. Should I set a clothing size? A BMI goal? A specific number of pounds?

I don't really have to be a certain size by a certain time, so I don't know where to begin goal wise.

How did you decide? And while we're at it, what are some things you've started and stopped doing since you started your dieting and/or exercise regimen?

Menswear
Gray Like the Oregon Sky
I've posted a lot in the last 24 hours, I'm sorry. ?

Looking at guy's clothing, mostly for FH. I admit I really thought suits were lame until I saw the one with the scarf (if you look at my display picture, you may see why), and that detailing on the fourth picture. The fifth picture is just cool.

I really like the idea of some sort of mix && match. No ties or bowties. Was thinking scarves or ascots or nothing and the man just being a sexmuffin.

What do you guys think??

POLAROID IS BACK!
I mean original Polaroid.

For those who didn't know, a few years ago Polaroid closed off making the film for their original snap-and-print cameras. Though I have not owned one in years, I always wanted to get one again but once that happened I was disheartened.

NOW IT'S BACK. Well, it will be under a different name, but now I can find 600 (and similar) films for low prices!

To celebrate this, I'm changing my theme (not that I really was all that committed yet) from peacocks to retro. I have some great ideas for it, check back in later.

Vintage is too classy, and while I want some class, I'll be honest and say I have no idea which era to pick, so right now I'm not. I like Victorian, but not enough to theme it that far. I like 1940s gangster era, but not much more than that.

I'm thinking, and tell me if I'm crazy, a clash of everything but under the theme of 80s, but as if things were back in style. Because thing reoccur like that.

I mean, check out them shades. :D

Any ideas? Color themes? I wasn't there during all except 20 months of the 80s.
