Wedding Photography
I'm so nervous.....

Girls, I am seriously sooo nervous. We booked our photographer a year ago. She was great, loved her pictures, everything was awesome. We put a deposit down, and she told me when it got closer to send her some sample pictures I liked and also a list of important people.

A couple months ago, I sent her the photos I liked, list of important people and shots, and also the remainder of what we owed her. I had asked her to send me a receipt and let me know what she thought of the shots. Never heard from her. So once the check cleared, I text her, it took a couple days, but she text me back saying she thought the pics were great. OKKKKKK.

Also a couple months ago, she posted on facebook that she was giving up photography after Summer 2012. I posted on there I was glad she was doing our wedding and she said yep, beth, we're going out with a bang for your wedding. Then I felt so much better.

So we had our detailing with the venue, and she asked how much space the photographer needed for "photo booth." I text the photographer and didn't hear back until I finally told her I needed to know for reception. Then she said she would send me a list of photo props she already has. This was 5/23. I never heard from her. I emailed her, I called her, I text her. FINALLY on 6/5, yesterday, she sends me a text saying sorry for the delay, she was in New York and was sending the email now. Well, that was yesterday. Still have not heard from her. I emailed and text her this morning telling her I didn't get the email and that I needed to know what props she had so we could buy whatever else we needed. We only have 16 days left. NOTHING.

Am I being pushy? I feel like I can't just let her take her time, because I need to get the props. And I had a dream that I couldn't get hold of her on our wedding day and she never showed up. Not helping matters. :( How would you girls approach this? I really need to know that we are all set for the wedding day, but the last thing I want to do is piss her off. I want good pictures. UGH!!! I'm at such a loss of what to do. HELP!!???!?!?

It's just so frustrating, because every other vendor is good to go, and has even contacted me on finalizing things. Why can't she just be on board? I don't feel like I'm asking alot. Please let me know if I am freaking out for no reason, or what you would do in my shoes???

No you are not asking a lot. You PAID this women in full already for service and you want to make sure everything is on point. That's just our job as Brides. You HAVE to stay on top of people and really I'm like that on a daily basis not just now. At least you have all your other vendors on point. So yes. spend the time following up with this woman to ensure your day is the way you want it.

Honestly this works sometimes. If you haven't already next time you call, call from a totally different number. Not private, but different just to see if she answers. If she doesn't answer, say you are on your way to the store to pick up props. If she would be so kind so forward to you right now so you know what to get it will be appreciated. If she answers, I would think she was avoiding you. Don't know why she would be, but maybe she is.

Do you know this woman personally, or was she recommended to you by someone you know? that seems very unprofessional that she isn't getting the info to you in a timely fashion. This is just one more thing I'd be nervous about also. Good luck! Let us know what happened.

Beth you have every right to freak out you paid her she should do her dang job no matter if she is not doing it anymore she agreed to do your wedding pictures and you already paid her it isnt right that she is doing that to you guys so you have every right to freak out your getting down to the wire for your wedding she needs to get on the ball and stop giving you the run around personally i would be screaming at her because I'm not good under a ton of stress and she is causing your stress for you and so far you are handling it way better than i would at this point i give you props on that girlie but try not to stress too much about it I know thats hard to ask for but in the end it will all come together and you are going to look amazing on your wedding day beth so happy for you :D WE ARE ALMOST THERE GIRLIE

Thank you so much for your input, ladies, it really means alot to me. I'm glad to know I'm not alone in feeling that this is so unprofessional!!! Ksteward, I may have to try that, I will be calling her tomorrow, and then if I don't hear back, Philly is going to take over, because I am at my wits end with this!! She is a local lady, so I thought everything would be great, ya know?

Tiffany, thank you so much, I am trying my best to keep my cool, but it is getting so hard. I mean, we are 15 days away!!! And at this late date, it's not like we can get anyone else. Philly says that no matter what, we will get it figured out, even if we have to fly someone in from Philadelphia. Im just ready for the stress to be over, ya know?
