my wedding day!
It was the best day of my life!
I am going to post a few pics to give you anidea of the perfect day I had! There were definitely a few bumps in the road that weekend buti t turned out to be memorable for all. We picked up relative's from the airport Friday night. Packed up 3 cars on Saturday and drove 3 hours To Huntsville. Got our rooms at the Delta Grandview and a number of people including myself were unhappy with the rooms. No time for me to complain because I was trying to get ready for our 5pm rehearsal. Broke a gel nail, no makeup bag and watching a 4 year old held me back a bit. Rehearsal went well!
Rehearsal dinner was awesome but I think staff at every venue were a little on edge this weekend because it turned to be a great weather weekend and everyone was busy. Lots of pics and lots of happy tears already! Went back to our teeny room and put together favor boxes, candy buffet jars, reservation tags and some other stuff. drank some wine with the wedding party and crashed. Good sleep actually! Dave got up and golfed on site with his boys while I tried to fix the nail and pack for a room change. We changed rooms to a gorgeous spacious lake view suite and then we headed down to the venue. Worst nightmare! the area we were to set in was a mess, and still had previous days wedding guests having brunch! Lost my composure and complained even more than when I broke my nail on their garbage bin, crappy room and service. I had to only half set up my venue and then leave to get ready while staff and the boys finished. I was late to walk down the aisle because the BM dress ripped oalong the zipper and I knocked the middle out of my Moms wrist corsage (glued with nail glue back in). Dave's 22 yr old cousin from Scotland almost broke his ankle playing basketball but he ended up having a patially torn ligament(he was in and out of the hospital in time for the wedding on crutches) It looked great! Better than I imagined! The flowers were gorgeous, the ceremony went flawless, the guests were happy (a little hot), the photographer amazing support, bar filled with ice cold beverages, blue sky, sparkling lake views, delicious food, great service, unforgettable night! the only advice I would give Brides with small children is to hire a sitter to watch over their child because they get so excited and are all over the place and no one person is ever watching out for them! Everyone wants to have fun so itis well wrth the money! I didn't and I now regret not doing it because Owen was off to the pool by himself, took a tumble, not enough food or water and sleeping by 9:30pm. I would have felt more at ease if I had a designated sitter from outside the guests to look out for his best interests! You will be the happiest bridesw on earth on your special days no matter what! |

Cross your fingers
When you plan an outdoor ceremony you always imagine it sunny and bright! Today I had to make emergency arrangements but the weather so far shows clear skies and 23 as the high!

Just 1 week left! Here are my inspirations!
here are my favorite brides that have given me inspiration and made it thru their big day
As the day draws closer and we have soooo much to do still I look to other brides who have inspired my wedding! My year has been a whirl wind of fun and excitement and to think that the most exciting day of all is so close it is almost sad! The preparation was so much fun! Each week someone else has their special day and I think about how great it was to have the opportunity to talk to all of you about our weddings, vent about our frustrations and share our ideas! I knew that the ladies would listen over anyone else! So here is my tribute to the beautiful brides I have followed for months! You all looked beautiful!

Wedding Decoration
Less than a month and I am still working on the details!
Here is an idea I got from Benix and Co. for a great no fuss centre piece! It is a battery operated fountain with LED light in the candle. All we have to do is put in the batteries and 8 oz. of water and off I go! What do you think? These are wind and child proof so there is no worries and I could use less worries that's for sure. Only $12 at benix and on-line they were $30US

40 days out and we are changing the centre pieces!
Well our rocks made into candle holders was a bust! Drilling holes into rocks is not as easy as it sounds! So, we are going with the traditional vase candle flower thing. I did find a great idea from a bride in the chocolate group that I think will be cute and inexpensive.
Now I just have to find the items at low cost because I am out of $ |
