![]() Sorry it took me a while to finally get this posted...but I finally have a completed center piece with the ivory crepe paper flowers we made! Let me know what you ladies think. Too much? Too high? Not enough? I appreciate all your thoughts and comments! Thank you all WBC brides!!!!!! P.S. well almost done...the only other thing I was thinking about doing was to sprinkle fairy dust/fine glitter on the flowers for more sparkle. This does not have it! Darn!!!! I thought I was done! LOL ^_^ @@@@@@@@@@@@UPDATE@@@@@@@@@@@@ SORRY LADIES ONE MORE UPDATE, I eliminated a step from the flower making...if you are using a strong glue then I skipped wrapping the stems at the base of the flower with the thinner floral wire and just went straight to wrapping them with the floral tape and it worked! That step was a pain in the bum! ^_^ IT MADE IT ALOT FASTER, HOPE THIS HELPS! Finally added the glitter. I sprayed the flowers with glue then sprinkled them with the glitter. It was kind of hard to get a good photo where you can see them sparkle. You can definitely tell they sparkle in person. It took 40 flowers to fill this 4inch cubed vase. *Walmart Cube Vase 4 inch $1.97 *Walmart Craft Ribbon black satin (1 1/2in x 12ft) $1.97 *LucysFabrics.com Rhinestone Buckles 25mm(1in) round $1.80 *Save-on-Crafts.com Floral Foam green wet brick (3 x 4 x 9in) 4pk $4.99 *Save-on-Crafts.com Vase Filler diamond 2lb bag $6.59 *Walmart Floral Stem Wire "20 gauge (18in) 30pc-I cut mine in to 120 pieces, 4 1/2in each" $0.88 *Walmart Floral Tape green (60ft x 1/2in rolls) 3pk $1.97 *Floral Supply Center Crepe Paper Folds "ivory (20in x 7.5ft)-I got about 240 petals from one package. Each flower I made had 8 petals, so 240/8 = 30 flowers" $1.15 *Walmart Floral Wire stem wire 26 gauge (270ft) $1.48 *Walmart Spray Glue 3M Super 77 (10 3/4 oz) $7.97 *Walmart Martha Stewart Glitter (4.58 oz) $2.00 |
Thank you all soooooo much ladies for your wonderful comments! I truly appreciate each and every one of you!
On my previous post I have a video there on how to make roses and the website where I purchased the e-book on how to make the crepe paper flowers. If you'd like I can email you the pdf ebook...just let me know and I would more than happy too!
To nlucas55: I really hadn't though about selling them afterwards but that seems like a really good idea. My FH and I were thinking about letting people who are very special to us take one home as a gift...we'll see. I have 18 to make! Yikes!!!! 1 down...17 more to go! LOL
I will defintely let you ladies know if we'll be selling them!
Gorgeous.
could u email me the book: cnawed@gmail.com
thanks in advanced
As far as tips go...the only thing I would have to say is, make sure you make each flower full/open that way you don't have to use so many in a center piece. The more closed you make a flower, the more flowers it will take to make a center piece fuller. Hope this made sense! ^_^
Ladies for your absolutely wonderful comments! I did look at silk flowers myself and they were a bit too much as well. So I started looking at tissue paper flowers but figured they would be to flimsy and then I came across the website with the crepe paper flowers and new this was my option when I saw the great prices on the supplies! Once again thank you ladies for your awsome support! ^_^
PS: Thank you for the encouraging post on my blog. :)
These are FABULOUS! I love them!
