DIY Wedding
To DIY or to not DIY...now that is the QuEsTion!
So...I consider myself to be a pretty crafty person. If I see something I want, I'll usually learn how to make it. So why should my wedding be any exception...right?
I'm definitely a bride on a budget so I would assume that a DIY wedding would be more cost effective. I have a lot of great ideas in my mind and I've gotten a lot of ideas from this site as well so I think I'm going for it. So tell me ladies... Is it cheaper to DYI or is it about the same after you've bought all of the supplies and spend all of the time putting everything together? I know it will definitely be more gratifying if I handle a lot of the details myself instead of giving someone else my hard earned mula to do it for me! BTW, I'll have just over 200 guests. |

Inspiration Board
plus some added "bling"
Choosing weddings colors can be pretty difficult, especially if you're like me and really don't have a "favorite" color. I like them all, but of course I'm not going to have a rainbow wedding!
So how did I narrow down my options? Well it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I chose the blue, or shall I say cornflower blue, by searching for bridesmaid dresses on DB. For some reason it just stood out to me and I fell in love. As for the purple, well this idea came from a complete stranger! I was out shopping down the wedding aisle at a local store and one of the fellow shoppers just started up a conversation. One of the questions she asked was what are my colors going to be. I told her blue and that I really hadn't thought of any accent or secondary colors. She then asked if I like purple and said that those colors plus a black or silver would look fabulous together. I didn't think much about it then when I was there, but a few days later I got online and just started searching for blue and purple weddings and she was right. Thanks lady shopper friend! I also would love a lil (or alot) added "bling bling" so I'm sure I'll find a way to incorporate that as well. |

The Proposal
the proposal...soooo un-romantic!
...but I love him. Sure, I would have loved him to surprise me by getting down on one knee at some expensive restaurant and popping the question, but it didn't quite go down that way! It was more of a -how do i say it- conversation. But at the end of the day all that matters is that he asked, and I said YES!! I'm so friggin excited!
So now the planning begins... I'm still excited, but I have to tell ya, planning a wedding is NO JOKE! There are sooooo many details and so many things to do. HELP! |
