I changed my mind
We are having a yellow/black/grey wedding
I talked with my FH and he said he didnt like the first color selection I made because they were my high school colors. His high school was rivals with mine.
So last night we sat down and Sha Baam we changed our minds and to be honest I am completely satisfied with our new selection. I think I love it more. So here is to yellow, black, grey! Ohh and if I need to I will throw in a hint of lavender... just dont tell Pete! |

Engagement photos
So Peter and I are planning on doing a 1950's theme photo shoot.
I will be wearing a red dress and apron and he will be in 'slacks' and a dress shirt. We will be taking picture of us while we I'm baking and he is waiting for the goods. I think it will be cute if some of the photos are of us blowing some flour in the air or with flour on our faces. We could even drwa a heart in the flour on the counter. We might also do some picture of use licking the spoon from the mixing bowl. I think it will be a super cute idea because both Pete and I enjoy cooking together and we love the 50's theme. We are thinking of doing it in a show home so that the kitchen is way better looking then our own. Do you guys have any suggestions for photos or do you think this is a good/bad idea? |

Inspiration Board
Roses are Red, Violets are Blue
I dont know how it happens but when Red and Blue come together they make the most magical combination, they cross both modern and fun with tradition and whimsical.
My wedding colors are not red and blue, after looking at these photos though I sometimes want to change my mind. Please enjoy and leave a comment if you want. And if you want any ideas on a theme or colors or even an outfit idea let me know and I will do my best ot help out! |

Yarn balls :)
Lately I have seen a few of these pictures floating around. The ball is made of yarn that has been dipped in paper mache glue, wrapped around a ballon and left to dry. Once the yarn has hardened you pop the balloon just leaving the yarn shell.
I think it is really creative and a cheaper version to paper lanterns. Plus it looks breathless and airy. I could see a whole bunch of these in white hanging from a beautiful green tree. Ohh they can also double as a centre piece. They look magical to me. Enjoy! |

Bridesmaids
1 Dress 4 Weddings
I thought it would be fun to post some inspiration boards using one dress for bridesmaids.
First one is a nautical theme. Second is a edgy theme. Third is a romantic theme. The last is what I call Ka Pow, it is more of a sparkly and ritzy look. My personal favorite. Hope this is a fun one to look at! Leave a comment if you would like. |

Bridesmaids hair pieces
I thought I would write about the leading ladies in our life... our bridesmaids.
I know the focus of the wedding is on the bride and groom but we all want are BM to look amazing too. I looked on Etsy.com for some fantastic hair fasteners for BM for a variety of different weddings. Enjoy the collection. My personal favorite is f2, its so beautiful and delicate. |

Whats your vote?
Mini Cakes or Traditional
So keeping with my fun-loving theme I was thinking of having mini cakes instead of one large wedding cake.
I found these pictures which capture the concept of what I am going for but I am looking for a more simple version. I would go with a light blue, orange and yellow so mine cakes would not be so vibrant. I think they are adorable and I think they would add to our 'fair' theme but please let me know what you think. Do you think mini cakes are the new thing or is one large wedding cake still the way to go? Do any of you have different ideas that would work for a fair themed cake? |

Wedding Theme
Well to begin with this is my very first post so I do apologize for any confusing jibber jabber.
I have convinced my FH to have a wedding locally, he was hoping on a destination wedding. It took a lot of bargaining, including handing over any decision making on our next house. The clincher to the argument was having a county fair type theme. I would have a later ceremony (12ish) outdoors, from there the wedding party would go take photos but the guests could stay and play ring toss and other fun but not to crazy games (considering attire). We would also have cotton candy/ mini donut/ sno-cone stands and face painting station for the kids. There may be some other things going on too which have yet been decided. Once photos were finished the wedding party would be available to play games with the guests as well which I feel would allow for more family fun. Following would be dinner and a dance. We have it this way because we dont want people to have to go back to their hotel/house while they are waiting for the dinner. My problem is does this sound to hokey? I am trying to make it fun without being to over the top. Do you guys have any suggestions of how to keep it wedding-ish or should I scrap the whole idea. If it means anything I love the idea as there will be a lot of kids (including my FH son) who I think will enjoy... which means happy parents. |
