Are you having a bridal portrait?
One thing I was thinking about skipping was the bridal portrait. Is anyone one else doing this?? I wasn't sure of the purpose... is it just another reason to get some pampering done?? lol!! Did it take away from the special morning "of" moment? I really didnt want to get dressed up in my wedding dress and pay to have my hair and makeup done before the wedding day, only to have to do it all over again for the actual event. I just wanted to hear your thoughts on this, so there's no regrets...did you love or hate it?

This is my first time cruising Im so excited!!! Can you please tell what I should expect? Has anyone been to these particular ports? Which is the best one? Which was your least favorite? Thank you ladies!!! |

Let me start by saying i'm sorry for beginning your Monday like this. I'm just so hurt by this, and knew that I had to vent to someone and why not my WBC Girls... I havent really been in the happy planning mood since two out of five of my bridesmaids dropped out of the wedding via email! SO HERES THE BACK STORY: Ive been engaged since Aug of 09, My FH and I already knew who we wanted to stand by us on the big day. He asked all his friends and they said yes it all went off without a problem. I had a few friends I was sure I wanted to be bridesmaids
They were great friends of mine during a stressful training camp and I felt we bonded in a way very few do. Although I have plenty of older sisters I didnt asked them. The ladies I did ask all said yes but before they did it was a yes with a billion questions. Like who else did you ask and is in the wedding? Who is your maid of honor? How much is the dress? Which to me these are all valid questions to be answered but not immediately even before you have agreed! (WTF this should have been the first red flag!) So I brush it off as just there excitement. Aug 29th we had our engagement get together with the wedding party. Two of the ladies same ones mentioned before showed up late and a little tipsy. Having words with one of the other bridesmaids they just met. They calmed down eventually
My FH and I were proactive and researched the best prices, we had printed up pictures of the wedding attire we chose, giving the ladies 3 dresses to choose from all under 100.00 dollars right there at the party. I gave them a time line to order the dress in February after the holidays but soon enough to have alterations done. I tried to make it fun saying we could have an ordering party dinner. No one showed up they wanted to go to CIAA Parties (CIAA=The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association conference of historically African-American institutions) they all said they were going to go ahead and order the dress on their own. Fast forward to April I send the ladies a newsletter updating them about the plans that are coming together. Letting them know about the vendors weve met etc. One of the vendors I had talked to said the shipping time doubles in wedding season and it was a great thing we did it early because if we hadnt they probably wouldnt arrive in time. I ended the letter with what time did you all purchase your dress?? They all respond back saying NO one had got it yet!!! Except my maid of honor not only did she already order it but she had already picked it up from fed ex! My heart sank I cried for a few hours. I spent the next two weeks looking for a new site that could grantee a rush delivery before Oct. finding out the latest possible order date July 16th. I told the ladies the info and the price increase explaining to them if they could afford it to please send me there confirmation email to confirm they were still in the wedding. July 16th comes and goes and I have them all except one. I send LG a txt asking about it, no response, I leave LG a voice message, no answer no return call, I say Im not sure if you have change your mind or if its too hard a burden. Two days later I get an email from the other bmaid MP with LGS confirmation attached saying she didnt like the way I handled that situation and how she was disturbed by it and that since LG was no longer in the wedding she would have to back out as well!!!! This was the first I heard that LG quit and in an email by someone else!! This was such BS and I clearly see that they never wanted to be there for me!!! I cant believe they did this!!! Im not sure what I should do next should I confront LG and ask her why she didnt bother telling me any of this? MP is just rude and I fully expect stuff like this from her but I honestly thought LG and I were friends not super close but still! Help please!! Was i wrong to ask for confirmation???

It's my 100 day mark ladies wow it happening so fast!! This snuck up on me soo quickly. I'm just gonna roll with it because I've never been more happier!!! Thank you sooo much to all of you who have been there! All your insight and comments mean more than you'll ever know!!!

I was having lunch with a few friends, and one of them asked to see my ring. I showed it to her and she says "that's cute"... did you want it too look old like that. Wtf!!!!! Then she asked if she can try it on!!!! uh no!!! pleeease! I said i wanted it to look vintage and unique excatly the way it does. did any of you ladies have any rude comments like that??

Sorry Ladies it's been a while since i've posted...been sooo busy only 4months left!!!! Tomorrow i'm volunteering with this organization. Wish upon a wedding! It is the Worlds first nonprofit wedding wish granting organization. Wish Upon a Wedding provides weddings at destinations across the United States for individuals facing life-threatening illness. It is a chance for couples to enjoy a very special day, without any thoughts of existing health issues, while surrounded by their closest family and friends. Wish Upon a Wedding currently has over a dozen chapters to serve Wish Applicants. Tommorrow is the first launch party in north carolina. I feel so blessed to have been able to plan this wedding and have the strength to see it come to fruition. Anyone else giving back...paying it forward and you got the idea from planning your own wedding??
