Wedding Reception
Booking my venue!!
I have finally found my venue. I am going to put my deposit down on FRIDAY!! :>) I could not beleiev that I found a venue for only $350.00 that holds up to 400 guest. I love it but I need some help on the decorations. Any suggestions!
I know it may not look like much now but my vision is great for this venue. It provides all of my needs and all the things we would like to have going on at the reception. Some of the ideas I have come up with are as follows: Reception Pic. #1: - Net Lights on the shrubs. - Two large potted flowers at the entrance doorway. - Traffic Cones to leave room for the limo (so we will be able to drive right up to the door). - Wedding Banner over the sign in the middle of the building along with a strobe light. - Ribbons on the light fixtures at the entrance doors. - Monogram letter "M" to cover the window on both doors. - And arrows at the street to show guest they have arrived. Reception Pic. #2: - White or black table linen for all tables along with my damask print . - Ceiling drapes with flickering lights. - Cirlce tables for my reserved tables - Main food items in a "t" frame in the middle of the floor. - ?????? Reception Pic. #3: - The sweet heart table on the stage as well as the cake table with a strobe light (to balance the stage I need something else on the other side- what I don't know. I thought about my FH's Grooms cake). - Flowers on the floor to cover the purple color on the bottom of the stage - Maybe some string lights to light up the stairs and the edge of the stage. - Either a power point behind us with our monogram on it or some drapery to cover the symbol on the wall. OTHER THAN THIS-- THIS IS ALL I HAVE FOLKS. ** so as you can see I need a lot of help so PLEASE give me some ideas- I beg of you!! :) Thanks in advance! |

Wedding Decoration
Here is what I have so far!
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I love to get new ideas. Hope you like them :<)
My centerpieces are not complete. I am trying to figure out what to do with the vases. Floating candles? Colored water? Pillars? My programs were made the same month he proposed (5 months ago) LOL!!! But since I changed my colors and design I think that I may add some damask print (as well as the invitations- when they are complete). |

Inspiration Board
Damask and Teal Bride
Well as you can see here is my inspiration. Our colors are damask as well as teal. I have been worrying if I will be able to pull this off. I am trying my best to do a lot of DIY items. If they don't turn out the way I want, then I guess I will be looking for other options. I'm also trying to stay within my budget (or even below it) but we will see how it goes.

The Proposal
Caught off guard!
Terrance's birthday, was the day he proposed. I remember coming home from work and getting on the computer. Terrance came into the living room and asked me to stand up. At this momment I thought he was just acting crazy. But he went on to thank me for giving him a wonderful and memorable birthday. He also told me how much of a good girlfriend I was and how he has appreciated everything I have done for him. And if you know me, you know that I was gloating by now. LOL! But I still had no idea of what was coming next. After he told me how much he loved me, he told me that "what would make this day more perfect, would be if you answer this next question". He got down on one knee and proposed to me. I was in total shock and I began to cry. I couldn't speak so at that time, I just shook my head yes. He got up and I hugged him for the longest time. He told me how he asked my father for my hand in marriage and I began to cry even more. I know this may be a ciché, but it meant a lot to me that he took the time to do things the right and traditional way. After I composed myself, he looked at me and said "you still haven't SAID YES". I laughed and apologized and siad yes. :) THIS WAS A BIRTHDAY I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER. And it wasn't even mine :)

How We Met!
Our Story!
Introduction Phase: Terrance and I met in college. When we met we shared a management class together for an entire year. During the first semester we noticed each other by being in different groups for management presentations. I will never forget the day he presented his project to the class and I can remember thinking to myself that he was kinda cute but didn't think to much of it. So, other than the occasional hey how you doing, that was it. The following semester we had another management class together (unplanned) and this time, he noticed me. I can recall a day where we both left class one day and he saw me speaking with another class mate, I guess he thought that this was his chance to speak to me before someone "made a move". I know I will never forget that day. He made a joke and he had the cutest smile I have ever seen. We talked for about a year as friends before we decided that we should date exclusively. When that day came, I knew that this was the man I was to marry. A man who has dreams and goals and is not affraid to say how he feels. I have been so grateful to have met a man who loves me for me and excepts my flaws as I do him. I believe that our love for each other is one of a kind in the way that "we fit" together and our love for each other will never change.
