Wedding Cake
Is anyone doing a cupcake tree?
I'm considering having a cupcake tree for my wedding guests instead of spending a lot of money on a big cake. Me and the FH will have a small 2 tier cake for ourselves. I found a great cake bakery that will do a dollar a cupcake or 1 dozen for 10.50. You can have chocolate or white cake with either buttercream, white alomond or chocolate icing. It seems so much cheaper than a big 4-tier cake but i'm just not sure if it will be tacky or not? hmm...

Inspiration Board
My colors have changed... for the last time!
Well, my colors started as chocolate, latte and ivory. I bought my dress in white so they went to chocolate, latte and champagne. I decided I needed a little color so I went to chocolate, champagne and accents of burnt orange. I've been browsing pictures on the knot and kind of started from scratch on what I wanted. I liked the look of the twigs and branches that are being used in centerpieces but just knew it would be too much with the centerpieces I had decided on before. So now my colors are rechosen for the FINAL TIME! I have decided to go with chocolate brown and apple red. My BM's will wear chocolate dresses and carry red flower arrangements. At the reception I will use white linens, brown table runners and my centerpieces will consist of lots of candlelight, twigs and red flowers. Pictures i've seen look beautiful! I'm really excited :)

Engagement
Engagement Pictures!
So me and the FH are going to have our photos taken next month! :) I am sooo excited! We have to meet with our photographer some time this month to set a date. The photographer wanted to wait until the weather broke to do outdoors but I almost wish we would have done them with snow on the ground since we were engaged outside in the winter during the first snow fall of the winter. I'm just so undecided on what to wear! I would love to wear a cute quarter sleeved flannel shirt with a belt and cute jeans and my cowboy boots (FH is wearing a nice brown flannel shirt, he looks good in flannel ;)) But it's so hard to find a cute one that fits my petite frame right :/ I have a really short torso so some clothes just fit me weird.
What are you ladies wearing or have worn for your engagement pics? Did anyone wear a sundress? I thought about wearing a cute sundress with a cardigan? I dont know where to begin... |

Wedding Cake
Just an idea...
So the FH and I went to a bridal event that was being held at Dorothy Lane Market. They had a bunch of cakes on display and some samples to try ( they had a really yummy marble cake with chocolate mousse filling :) )
We were leaning towards having an offset square cake so we could break away from the more traditional round cake, but when I saw this cake It completely made me have a change of heart. We like the textured look instead of the smooth fondant finish and the design they did on this just looks simple and elegant. I would have a chocolate ribbon added on 2 of the tiers and maybe a latte added on 2 or something like that. We also have the initial cake toppers to go on top. Maybe we could even put a few small sprigs of fresh flowers on it instead of the ribbon? This is the one thing I'm just so undecided on. I never knew my cake would be the hardest thing to choose for my wedding! lol |

Wedding Reception
Centerpieces!
So for our ceremony, we're going to have a local florist decorate the church and make the boquets and boutinneres (idk how to spell it lol!). But im a bit creative and love to be crafty so I thought it would be great if me and my mom attempted to make all of the decorations for the reception hall. I would have loved to use fresh flowers but it would just be too difficult. I ended up finding some really beautiful hydrangeas at Michaels, and in great colors. They had a chocolate, ivory and burnt orange color since i've decided to add some little orange elements into the wedding.
Please dont laugh, these are our first attempt lol. Im using 8x8 in. square vases filled with coffee beans and in these pictures there are 3 hydrangeas but im going to add 1 more to make it a little fuller. There is some curly sticks in sticking out from the top also. The chocolate ribbon will either be latte colored or white or possibly burnt orange depending on what color table runner I do. I love my little votive holders that are filled halfway with coffee beans and a tall votive is pushed down into the beans. I will have twenty 8ft long tables on each side of the room. I am going to put 1 of these arrangements in the middle of each 8 ft table and place tall cylinder floating candles on the ends. I will have the little coffee bean votives on both sides of the flower arrangement but kind of in between it and the floating candles. I might even do a couple tables in the middle with just the coffee bean votives?? |

I am absolutely in love with these shoes! there is just something so classy and beautiful about them. I cant wait to wear them :)
This is also my headband. I cut some layers in my hair and my hair is a little shorter so im going to pull a bit of the sides back and have it teased so there's a little bump and then wear this headband since my veil will be coming off after the ceremony. I'll still have a little bling up there! :) I bought them both at Davids. |

So I went browsing at the flower factory to get some ideas for my centerpieces, while I was there I came across a wood sign that read " All My Love...All My Life " I thought It would look cute in my FH's and I house and so I bought it without another thought. The meaning didn't really hit me until last night. I thought, this is the guy im going to spend the rest of my life with.. he has all my love for the rest of his life, and he feels the same... what a perfect kind of quote for the wedding!! So somehow, in some way i'm going to put this quote somewhere in the reception. im so excited!! i wonder what kind of project i will begin?? :)

Wedding Decoration
I'm feeling the damask!
So I'm seeing ladies on here using alot of damask patterns in their wedding decorating and every one that I see looks absolutely stunning! Whether it's with red or silver or blue or green, everyone is doing it so gorgeous. I think I would like to find a brown damask print and use it as my table runners? I'll still be using coffee beans and chocolate and latte elements in my centerpieces and I think the damask fabric will break up the browns a bit since there will be white in the pattern. Plus it will be a little more exciting than just plain crappy browns lol! What do you ladies think? Does anyone have any ideas as to where else I could use the damask fabric?
