This is a quick drop in because we're literally leaving for our honeymoon in half an hour. So I'm MARRIED!!!!! YAY!!!! Man, that day was hectic! There is a lot of details to tell you, the good, bad and the real UGLY!! I'll still be on vacation after our honeymoon so I'll have the time to update my wbc sisters on the crazy events of that day. But what's most important is that I am now Mrs. Simon and I am married to the most wonderful man in the world!!! Here are a few non-pro pics that I managed to grab from family & friends. Hey Ladies!!!
With less than a month left till my wedding day, I'm beyond swamped with things to do, people to see, things to pay for, I mean this list never ends. Just when I think I'm getting somewhere, something else comes up. My bachelorette party was this past weekend, I will be sure to upload some pics when I get home (most of my blogging is done @ work lol!) For my bachelorette, we went to Flirty Girl Fitness & I got a 2 hr Lapdancing lessons (which I will put to good use lol!) and lemme tell you, it was quite a workout!). Then we went out to dinner and all my friends that came brought me the naughty gifts/gear including a pink penis headband, chocolate penis candies and cake with little chocolate penises all over it. I also got a game called Sensual (or is it Sensuous? Can't remember) that comes with all kinds of sex paraphernalia and with activity cards. FH has been wanting to play that game since I got it LMAO! We'll wait for the honeymoon.....maybe! My BM that threw the party for me rented a hotel suite for me and brought it tons of liquor, snacks and bachelorette games so we had a blast! Then they took me to the club where I partied hard, drank and had a crazy time, I loved it!!!!! BTW there is a sequel to my bachelorette since I didn't get a token "male stripper", we'll be going to the "AMW" male exotic dancer event which comes to Toronto 2 weeks before my wedding, so looking forward to it! October brides......we're almost there!!!!! |

Hey chickies!!!!
I just love checking things off my to do list, even if its a partial check lol!! While FH was busy partying it up with his BM (who's bday happen to be this weekend), I spent my entire extra long weekend printing my cd labels, wine labels, labelling those items and wrapping up the dinner mints (tulle & curling ribbon are now my best friends!!!) & cds. I haven't quite finished burning all the cds (50 more left) but I've done all the required printing for them so those will be done in no time. I can't take all the credit because my mom, grandma, aunt, cousin, little brother and sister all helped (Thank you God). Also, I went to pay down on my new centrepiece (long story short, the DIY centrepieces were costing me as much as my new ones so I let someone else do the work lol). Met with my decorator @ my venue yesterday and we discussed my colours and how I wanted things done and that's pretty much how my extra long weekend went. Oh yeah, did a some last minute back to school shopping (for school supplies) for my son. His school is uniformed so there wasn't much clothes I had to buy :) What's left to be done October brides?! 37 more days!!!!! |

Hey ladies,
I feel so out of the loop because I'm not on my blog as often as I used to be. Time's catching up on me and I have a whole lotta things to do but as soon as I get caught up on some mini projects, I promise I'll be sure to visit some of your pages and comment a whole lot!!! So August 25th was my last bday as a single woman. What did I do? Well FH and I got our marriage license, had lunch and I got another tattoo......pretty intense day! I loved that the marriage license process was short and simple; we just went there with the completed form downloaded from the Government of Ontario website, handed over the $$$ (which is pretty darn pricey come to think of it) and waited no more than 10 mins and VOILA! I sincerely cannot believe that I have 45 days left!!! So much to do, so little time! Where are my Sept/October brides at??!! Our big day is literally around the corner!! |

Hey chicas!
I have been so busy as my big day approaches, I feel like even if I had 8 arms like an octopuss, it still wouldn't be enough LOL!! As an early birthday gift (my b-day is Aug 25), I went to the Rihanna concert earlier this month (which was amazing!). Hubby took care of the kids, held down the household and told me to go enjoy myself (I just love this man!!). Anyhoo, August 14th was my bridal shower and despite all the guests cancelling (see my previous venting post lol), I had an amazing time!!! All my friends, relatives from out of town, extended family.....so many ppl turned up.....except my FMIL but hey, whatever I still had a great time. We played the Sex and the City quiz game, toilet paper wedding dress, what's in your purse and the SATC sexiest shoes (which the guests had to model on our runway). I almost got a week's supply of lingerie (yes, my mother did what I expected) & the majority stuff from our bridal registry (stylish martini glasses, coffeemaker for hubby, wine glasses etc). Then we got the candid advice from my Aunt Pam who says "listen, make sure you look good going out all the time, don't think that "oh we're married so I don't have to impress nobody", when you look good and other guys check you out, your hubby knows his wife still got it!" LOL!!! I guess she must be onto something because her and my uncle have been married for 20 years! I won't bore you with anymore anecdotes, enjoy the pics ladies!!! XOXOXOX Antoinette |

Bridal Shower
My Sex & the City bridal shower tomorrow!!!
Hey girls!
So despite the shitty ass week I've been having (sorry for the cursing ladies), my bridal shower is tomorrow!! Hence my pic, its SATC themed and I'm really looking forward to it despite 10 people cancelling 3 days before the shower (and they knew for more than a month). Yup, they sent me messages on facebook giving me all kinds of excuses from "I'm going to New York for a shopping trip" to "I have a business dinner I have to attend" to a plain old "I'm doing something else". But hey, it's whatever. As long as my kids, mommy, Grandma, MOH and bridesmaids are there, that's all that matters. So, Miss procrastinator (a.k.a me!) hasn't gotten her outfit yet :( I've just been so busy and under so much stress that I couldn't find the time. I'm going to find one today (not that I have a choice lol) and it will be pink and black as per my theme. The food is courtesy of my wonderful mommy, grandma and Aunty: Potato Salad, honey garlic wings, veggie/fruit platter, rice, roti, curry chicken, veggie fried rice, lasagna, cupcakes, fried chicken, macaroni pie & cheesecake just to name a few menu items. YUM!!!! So looking forward to eating all those goodies and being with all my peeps lol! I will be sure to post pics to share with you ladies! I'm almost certain my mom is going to give me the most "sexy" gift which is going to be so disturbing lol but i'll laugh it off! 2 months and counting......OMG! XOXOX Antoinette |

Hey y'all,
I'm sorry about being MIA, i've been so gosh darn busy with getting all these little things done and out of the way, it has consumed my life and I CANNOT wait for this to be over!!!! As per my subtitle, I am going to throttle the following ppl for the following reasons: 1. FH: So, FH tells me about a month ago that his mother has a "few" people she'd like to invite to the wedding. My response is "what is a few?", Fh says only about 10 (wow, that qualifies as a few?!). But given about 8 ppl (so far) cannot make it, I figured hey, ten's not bad. I ask him for the list for his mom's guest so I can get their invite printed asap and sent out. Well, Mr. Smarty Pants hands me the list with not 10 but 25 fricking ppl!!!!!!!! I said "babe, there are 25 ppl on this list, didn't you read it when your mom gave it to you?!" FH- "no, I just figured it was ten so I didn't bother looking!" GRRRRRRR!!! 2. My monster-in-law (sorry I meant Mother-in-Law , geesh I wonder how I could've made that mistake LMAO!) insists that these ppl attend and doesn't understand why I'm pissed because according to her, half of these ppl won't show up (so why invite them?!). She also wanted us to have a live band (say what?!) which neither my FH or I really care to have (nothing against live bands, just didn't want them at my wedding). 3. My future sis-in-law was our reader for the ceremony, reading a passage from the Bible.......until she dropped out because she thought that a reader was a "bridesmaid". I told her that I didn't want a huge bridal party because that wasn't my style and I specifically chose each girl because those are women that have been around me for years that I love and know they have my back no matter what. Her comment: "That's not a true Black wedding because Black ppl have wedding parties with like 20 ppl" Yup, she said that..........mind you, she's all of 18 years old so I just ignored her comments. 4. Banquet Manager - In our contract, it says the venue will provide all linens and silly me assumed that also meant chair covers (well, that's what his assistant told us) only to have him tell us it doesn't and that if I'd like to rent them, it's $2 a piece. I'm having 150 so that works out to be $300!!! And if FH's mom has her way it could be $350 with that additional 25 guests. My MOH has volunteered to read the passage so that's awesome (love that girl!!). But ladies, I feel like i'm digging in sand! Everytime I accomplish something, something else comes up! I've been crying at least once a day for the past month and I'm so fed up! So much for blushing bride! Well, when this is all over, I'll be sure to down a couple of celebatory shots and get a t-shirt that says "I survived wedding planning" LOL!! Don't step on my blue nine west shoes

Something old, umm I dunno Something new, my dress! Something borrowed, don't know that one either Something blue.............my shoes!!! These are my nine west shoes which I got for a great deal!!! (Warehouse ladies, amazing prices!!) They were originally 3 inches and now their about 2 inches tall because I had them cut down a bit by my shoemaker (my groom is vertically challenged....but he calls me his "supermodel" so its all good lol). I figured why wear silver or white shoes?? Why not add a little flair and incorporate the "something blue" at the same time??? I would've loved some Christian Louboutins but alas, my last name ain't Trump lol!! Anyone else having colored shoes for their big day??? |

Well I got some stuff done yesterday (YAY ME!!) including: Chose our wedding cd songs Paid down on our wedding bands Bought the cd labels and blank cds Got my chair sashes (thanks MissKelly :)) I think I'm on a roll ladies. I'll be working on those till they're completed because I've learned not to try to do too much (over multi-tasking + lots of DIY projects = 3 month meltdown LOL) Where my October brides (or any brides for that matter) at??!!!
