Wedding speech - help

Hi Ladies,

So I did a draft wedding speech but I don't think its any good. Does any one have any suggestions? Or know of things I'm meant to include.


Good Evening Everyone,

You have heard enough speeches tonight so I promise I will be quick.

I would just like to say thank you to you all for coming, I know that everyone has had to travel to be here and it means the world to us both.

I firstly have a couple of thank yous to make to Sharon from beautiful weddings the room looks amazing. To our celebrant Trish, our photographer Leah and of course Rikky our Wedding Coordinator.

I would also like to make a special mention to Christian for the beautiful wedding cake she made. And to Chris not only for the reading you made earlier but for being my second mum when I moved to Sydney. I really do appreciate everything that you and Terry did for me.

Finola, thank you for many years ago welcoming me into the family and for all the help you have given me with the wedding and life in general.

My dad what can I say, thank you for walking me down the aisle today and for the support and unconditional love you have given me over the years.

There is someone that wanted to be here today but unfortunately is not, my mum. Of course I am extremely sad that my mum is not here today but I did get to do the one thing every bride to be wants to do with their mum, dress shopping. As some of you are aware mum came to visit me about a week after we got engaged and we set out dress shopping. It is a very beautiful moment when you have on a wedding dress and a veil and your mum gets all emotional and says that’s the one. Mum I know you are here in sprit today and I want to say thank you for all the sacrifices you made for me.

To my bridesmaids, you are all wonderful women and extremely important to me. It’s a wonder you are all still talking to me after the thousands of emails I have probably sent you all over the past 12 months. But I sincerely thank you for all your help and encouragement.


To my husband, what can I say other than I love you forever and I am so happy to be your wife.

I would like to end with making toast to you all for your support over the years and I hope you enjoy the rest of the night.
