on the hunt....

This is a picture of where we're having our reception! Doesn't show how big it actually is... but it gives you an idea :)

So, the dance floor is not included in our package... this is something that is an extra cost.

I was thinking 'not a problem'... until I saw the price! They're out of their minds!!!

For a 16x18 dance floor, the zoo wants to charge me $950! I started to look at other places, and for the same size dance floor, the most expensive I found was $395.

Now, I know it's outdoors, so there may be some additional charges, as well as set up/tear down and delivery... but I'm not sure they will end up adding up to $950...

SO, I need to start this hunt for dance floors!!! Who knows... maybe $950 is a good deal... guess I will find out!

Is there anyone who had to rent a dance floor?!?!

Renting the dance floor is the best way to go! We are renting ours too and we are only going to consider the people who will actually dance. Some people will not really dance so we're not wasting money on all of that. Be kind to your pocket and your budget. We only ended up having to pay $400 for the floor that will host 30 dancers at one time. We'll barely have that many people dancing. Good luck!

Gorgeous venue!!!! 950 seems awful high, but I have never rented a dance floor before. But I would def check out your options before you buy. I agree with flr, consider how many people will be dancing at one time, that should help with cost. Good luck!

Thanks phillysgirl :) It's a little scary having everything planned for outdoors (even having an indoor plan B doesn't calm the nerves LOL). I haven't rented a dance floor either but there's just NO way it should be 950! I got on contacting ppl yesterday- only one got back to me, but still, bigger dance floor than the one the zoo was offering, for 200 cheaper than their price! :) OH, I WILL find the best deal ;) pennypinching-controlfreak-bride right here :)))
Thank you flrjohnson! What size is your dance floor? We have a crazy dancing family, so we were thinking 15x20, but maybe could go smaller. Just curious the size of yours... thanks :)))))
