Flower girl dresses...
Thank goodness for an amazing mom...
Well, being a bride on a budget is never easy... they make everything so expensive for weddings!
I refused to pay 100 dollars for a flower girl dress! So I looked all over ebay and found adorable flower girl dresses!!! I was SO careful not to look at any dresses that weren't ivory, because my dress is ivory, not white. Well. When the dresses came... they were stark white. I stayed calm... and checked my order to see whether it was my mistake or theirs... and it was mine. It was the only dress I had saved to my favorites in WHITE! Ugh, and I thought I had been so careful... So I thought maybe it wouldn't look that bad next to my dress... so I took one in to hold it next to my dress to see the difference... and I just burst out in tears... I felt like my dress looked like I had put in on and then rolled in the dirt! BUT- my awesome mom took the dresses apart, went and got ivory material and then put them back together again... you might not be able to see the difference in the picture... but believe me- it makes such a big difference! They are so perfect now <3 I am so glad I have such an awesome mom! And... even with the extra cost of materials for the fix- they were still both less than 60 dollars in the end :) |

11 days!!!
Down to the wire....
I can't believe in 11 days... our wedding day will be here!!
It doesn't seem like it has been 15 months since the proposal.... I can't believe I haven't BLOGGED in TWO MONTHS! Things have just been so crazy... between trying to land a job and planning a wedding... I feel lucky if I even get a good nights sleep :) Everything "big" is out of the way... but the little stuff seems to never end :) Just trying to stay calm and not stress :) |

Wedding Dress
Alterations!
So... I took my dress in to get my alterations done today!
I have been dying to put my dress on again! I think it loved it more than when I bought it! I haven't tried it on since I got my shoes and necklace, so I was very eager to see how it was all going to come together! I was soooo pleased! The shoes looked awesome with it, and the pearl necklace matched perfectly! <3 Well, when I bought the dress, it seemed like it was going to need a hem and the bust area brought in a bit.... I ended up leaving with only having the dress bustled! My mom was freaking me out! She didn't think she was going to be able to zip up my dress LOL, but it fit just right... however- no room to gain any weight! The dress did need to be hemmed a little... however, it would have been pretty pricey to get it done because the whole bottom piece would have to be removed and then sewn back on... SO, I am going to see if I can't get a petticoat to go under it. I'm not a big fan of this idea... I don't want my dress any poofier than it is, but hopefully it wont ass too much "poof". :) My dress will be ready by WEDNESDAY! I'm super excited, maybe I will take some pics! <3 Tomorrow we're off to check out tuxedos!!! <3 Thanks everyone for keeping me sane the other day! Your support and kind words mean a lot! <3 |

3 Months!
... and still so much to do...
WOW! Today is exactly 3 months until the wedding!!!
It seems like just yesterday that Jesse proposed to me. I can't believe it was over a year ago already.... where does the time go?!?! Tomorrow is our SIX YEAR anniversary... our last "dating" anniversary :) It's bitter sweet to be closing that chapter in our lives, but I cannot wait to marry my best friend and open up a new chapter <3 My dad called me today, and I'm pretty sure that I've never heard the phrase, "you know it's only three months away" so many times in a 30 minute conversation :) I love my dad... but he was kind of freaking me out LOL. I really do have so much to do though! 1. I still haven't found a dance floor! The last guy who quoted me, kept me on the phone for an hour, trying to hard sell me... told me it would only be $750. I asked him to send me an invoice, so I could send it to my dad for him to look over... he said he would send it the next day... but took him 8 days to finally get it to me. Then the invoice he sent, listed the dance floor at $795. That's a pretty big price difference!! So... I'm still looking. 2. I still need to figure out what everyone will be wearing... that will get taken care of next week... 3. I have no clue what I want for centerpieces... 4. I still don't have a cake! :) 5. I need to get my dress altered... I have the place, I just need to call... 6. I still need to find somewhere to rent linens.. I thought maybe I could make them cheaper than to rent them... but looking at the cost of material... it's actually more expensive to make them yourself! So... I need to find a reasonable priced place :) 7. I need to order my flower girl dresses.... :) That story might deserve it's own blog.... I'm just going to stop there... ahhhhh, procrastination :) WELL, it's not even that I've been procrastinating, really.... I just graduated college... so some of my planning waited until after I graduated, and since graduation, I've been searching for a job... *sigh*, it's just been a crazy time! I try to look at all the things I have accomplished... and feel good about that, and not stress too much... but, I also have to face the fact that... there's only 3 months left... and I need to kick it up a notch :) |

Flower Girl Baskets DONE!
Well, I got one basket done tonight!
It wasn't exactly what I had originally envisioned. I had planned on tying bows on each side, and then having just three roses on one side of each basket... but I couldn't tie bows with the ribbon I had... so I just decided to do roses on each side of the basket :) I'm really proud of how they came out! They're going to look so cute with red petals in them! Nothing too flashy, but cute :) Can't wait to go get more roses tomorrow so I can finish the other basket! Both of these baskets ended up costing me not even half of ONE pre-made basket! I love DIY. <3 |

Champagne Glasses
I was really bummed when the zoo told us we couldn't have glass at our reception...
I'm a really sentimental person, and the news that we couldn't have our own champagne glasses made me kind of sad :( So, when my MOH and I found these plastic gems, it got me super excited! We found these plastic champagne glasses at Party City for $10. They're clear black, so they fit perfectly into our theme... and there's just enough of them to personalize one for FH and myself, our bridal party, and all of our parents :) I want to decorate and bling them up... I've been looking up ideas, but haven't quite decided on anything definitive yet... BUT, when I get them done... I will definitely post the finished product :) |

Pillows and Baskets!!
WOW- I am finally out of the triple digits!
94 days until my wedding! :) Anywho- SUPER excited for this DIY project! Flower girl baskets are ridiculously priced. I think the cheapest one I saw was $35... for ONE! I almost had a heart attack! Being on a tight budget... spending $70 on flower girl baskets just seemed a little much. Yesterday I went to Micheal's and bought two brown, square wicker baskets for $4.99 each. Then, my MOH and I planned to spray paint them white, and wrap some ribbon around the handle. Well... then we ended up at Hobby Lobby... and I got the two baskets above, already white... and lined with plastic inside, for only $3 a piece because they were 50% off! Have I mentioned I LOVE Hobby Lobby?? :) Then we got these cute black flowers white rhinestones in the middle, which we're going to group in threes at the bottom of the handle on one side of each basket! And to top it off, my wonderful MOH bought me this cute black ribbon with rhinestones in the middle to wrap the handles with! Needless to say, I returned my earlier basket purchase :) I am so excited for this project! :) Simple, but cute :) I got the pillow on sale at Hobby Lobby as well (also 50% off...) so it only cost about $12, and we're going to add the black ribbon as well as an accent so they match the baskets :) I had originally planned on making my own pillow... but after weighing the cost of material, stuffing, and ribbon... with the pillow being 50% off, it was only a few dollars cheaper to make it... so I decided to save myself the hassle (and everyone else the pain of listening to my "cheery" self while trying to construct this pillow LOL), I just decided to buy it... but, I still get to customize it :) |

Wedding Cake
Cake Topper!
I had so much fun shopping with my MOH yesterday :)
It felt really good to get some "little" things out of the way! I had put a lot of thought into the cake topper... there's something about having "people" on my cake that weirds me out :) I had seen some cute ones that I had contemplated though... because they involved football.... Both my FH and I are passionate about football, and are always joking about the other one "coming to the dark side" (which, of course, will never happen :)). So the cake topper had football helmets of your team on each side, then there was the option of the bride dragging the groom to her side, or the groom dragging the bride to his side. They made me laugh, because it's TOTALLY us :) But I really wanted to have something nice on top our cake... I really liked a cake topper I saw with two hearts (I LOVE hearts :)) Well, I saw this one the other day at Hobby Lobby (50% off) and I bought it :) I really like it! I'm saving the receipt, just in case... but for now, this is the topper! |
