Bridal Show
My Bakery, a hot date, and business.
Well it's just 5 short days until I get to go checkout my very first bridal show!
This will be the first of many for me, recently I was contacted by The Knot- Texas coordinator who wanted to know if I was willing to setup a vendor with my bakery Pink Tarte :) we specialize in cake, pies, tarts, cupcakes, cupcake truffles, gourmet (vegan friendly), thank you baskets etc. and yes we ship! My best friend also has a business called click it to canvas that takes your digital pictures and applies it to a canvas that looks as if it's a painting-- very cool!! She is interested in becoming a vendor too, so she will be my hot date for the day. My very pregnant hot date! Major steps for my little bakery. I'm going there mostly for business and partially for pleasure. Who am I kidding I'm going for mostly pleasure *does happy dance* I'll be blogging pictures of everything that happens there and show you lovely ladies some new things! For now enjoy some pics of our businesses Both can be found on facebook Click it to Canvas Pink Tarte |

Wedding Invitation
We've decided- Yay!!
It's finalized.
We've agreed to do a photo booth wedding invitation. I still might want to add an insert to the middle of something (unique), I've been dabbling in the idea of the whole travel ticket theme that I've been seeing lately. Would it be too overboard to send those old pull out cameras you know the ones that you snap the picture and pull it out and it gives you a mini picture. Probably so!! Far cry from my original message in the bottle theme i originally wanted to do. I may do e-invites as well, my friend says who checks there mail. I do!! I check my mail!!!! Call me old school but I love getting letters and packages! *sighz* Have any of you sent e-invites to your wedding? Or does everyone just send something out? ![]() |

Ask a Question
Color Scheme Help!
So the other day my fiance walked in as I was watching TV (unrelated confession: lately my TV has been locked on bridal shows) and asked if he could help with anything with the wedding
I KNOW RIGHT!!!!! YES he offered and NO it wasn't a sneaky ploy so he can get the big TV to play Xbox-- he genuinely wanted to help! So after I shook myself out of shock and picked myself off the floor and checked for the apocalypse we started looking at color schemes. I think he got a little in over his head as color choices started dwindling down. None the less, I'm pretty sure poor fiance won't be offering his helpful services willingly again. I did mention I was dramatic right? I hate everything I slightly dislike and the adjectives get more colorful from there. :D I know I talk too much so here are my questions↓ I would love some advice from people with a tad more experience or who can relate. Our wedding is in August which is apparently a Summer/Fall type season in Canada. We've narrowed it down to 3 color schemes that we think is unique. We're young (not too young) and we're fun and I'm artsy and quirky and he's just goofy and fun so I'd love a scheme that's going to reflect our youthful nature but still have that autumn feel, is still elegant and innovative. If that makes any sense. As we pull out the palettes, however, I'm concerned that we're getting too in depth with the colors. I normally see people stick to a two color scheme- but these are 3 and four colors at a time. If I get more in specifics with the colors and add hues and shades like "champagne" , and "cerulean"is it harder to match that exact shade? Should I just stick to the basic two color scheme and go from there? Or is it better that I be specific after all I am planning my whole wedding and I have enough time to really search for colors? Do I limit myself to a box when I pick a palette this specific? I'd love some advice also your thoughts on the three color schemes that I've picked! Any response would be lovely. Pic#1 {Teal, Chocolate, Copper, Latte + Ivory} Pic#2 {Cerulean, Latte, Antique Gold, Silver + White} Pic#3 {Shades of Orange, Gold, Gray + Lavender} Thank You, ![]() |

The Date
I'm pretty sure I have issues.
Hi lovelies!
Thanks for all the messages and positive feedback. So we've leaked that we're engaged to a few friends and a few family members we've decided to officially announce it when he gets back from basic training and has the time to travel to the U.S and meet everyone. Which is July, my mom kind of has an idea but we won't say anything until everything has been set into place. So now I'm trying to prevent myself from entering this bridezilla stage. After much thought and a google search through Ontario wedding venues (I have to Google things because I live all the way in Texas and we are having our wedding in Canada). My dream wedding unfortunately isn't outside and isn't in a barn so I've decided I'm going to have to put my big girl face on and plan my whole wedding by myself. So as this blog continues for the next 19 months this should be entertaining. The date. It is official 08.17.13- It's been changed probably 10 times, It started out a year earlier at the end of February because we wanted a winter wedding. Then changed because we needed to save more. Then because it was too close to important birthdays so now we have the date that's set in stone. My best friends are going to make me stick to it! I'm getting married in 19 months. It's so surreal. Now if I could just stick to a color. |

About Us
The Secret.
I've been secretly engaged for a month now and I just have to tell someone so I've decided to blog.
Why is it a secret you're wondering? Well no I'm not too young (25 to be exact), and no it's not some tragic tale of Romeo and Juliet-- we're not star crossed lovers. Simply because everything about us is spontaneous and untraditional. One of the things that I love the most about him is his ability to keep me interested- he's an extremist he feels all of his emotions to the fullest he's never just happy he's ecstatic and when he's down it's catastrophic. LOL- I watched him when we were friends and thought there has to be a pill that will balance all of those emotions and found myself falling in love with him by the day. We met through a mutual friend (we'll call him Philip) and it was mostly a long distance thing, I was in a relationship and so was he. His was way more committed than mine and I was trying to push my boyfriend of 4 years to finally propose to me. Leaving subtle hints and joking- We didn't talk much at first, I was intrigued by him but brushed it off because I was on my own personal mission. He and I are the same age (25 just in case you skipped over parts) but he found himself only dating older women (hm- mid 40's or 80's). Nevertheless his relationship as well as mine ended abruptly and very painfully. He waited a few monthes before he started dating or even talking about the situation, had a few rebounds a few misadventures, and I, well I was in a depression and felt like I had no one to talk to I mean who could possibly understand my struggle of planning your life around a guy and being disappointed time and time again (LOL now that I think of it -EVERYONE!) -- (Did I mention I'm terribly tragic myself?) LOL - I finally started getting out more and talking to friends and we ran into each other again through Philip and discussed our big breakups. From there our friendship was inseparable, we talked about any and everything and found we had a lot in common. I watched him date girls and gave him advice, called him out when he was wrong so on and so forth. As the weeks passed by something in me changed I found myself telling him every girl he talked to "sucked" and I realized I just wanted it to be me! I kept my place as a friend and tried to give the best advice I could without looking too jealous and trying to be as genuine as I could. We sat down one night and had a phone call that lasted for probably about 5 hours something I hadn't done since high school and at the end of the conversation he blurted out how much he really liked me and wanted to try it out. Given the circumstances I decided okay lets date and if you feel the same way in 3 months we can be in a relationship. He waited the 3 months he dated me nothing about him changed and if anything we grew closer. Fast Forward through the boring parts. We've been together long enough to know that we are meant for each other. I love everything about him the way he stands, his shitty attitude when he wants my attention and can't get it, and especially his smile. I think he's gorgeous and he truly is one of my best friends and someone that never judges me. He asked me to marry him a month and a half ago and we've decided to keep it to ourselves until we both have the time to talk to everyone and announce. I can't wait to put the picture of the actual ring on my finger and shout it from the world. Until then I'll simply Blog!! :) I'll get into the actual engagement a little later. And if you got this far in reading thanks for listening I just had to tell someone. -Mimi |
