We're engaged!
You probably won't read all of this, but if you do, enjoy it!
Unless you got this link from Facebook, you don't know us, so let me give you a little much needed back story!
We met in 2009, at my mother's house. He's a contractor by trade, so he was doing some (really good) tile-work in her bathroom, as well as some other odd-jobs.
At the time, I was still getting over a crash-and-burn relationship with my ex, and the last thing I was looking for was a brand new romance.
His situation was similar, he had just finalized his divorce a few months prior to us meeting. He wasn't exactly read to rush into something serious. But even though I think believing in fate is a load of bull sh*t, we really weren't prepared for what was going to happen next.
One day, I came home from work, and Rick was there, fixing our dishwasher. I felt a few butterflies, but it wasn't love at first site. I'm usually picky (i have unusual tastes at times, but still picky) when it comes to men, and since he was dirty and sweaty, he didnt exactly sweep me off my feet.
Even though I wasn't twitterpated, I couldn't get him off of my mind. I'd go to work and I'd think I saw him shopping, I thought I drove by him a couple times, etc. I was going crazy. I thought,"I have to call this guy."
(Yes I made the first move)
So, long story short, we went on a date, the rest is history Blah blah blah.
Well, not exactly. we broke up for about 6 months in 2011, due to a whole lot of stress and issues we both had to deal with seperately.
We recently began to see each other again, and fell back in love.
He's everything I've ever needed and more. He's sweet, caring, selfless, a damn good kisser! and many more. I'm the luckiest woman alive.
A brief synopses of the proposal:
We went out to dinner, and after we went for a walk in a park.
We walked, and were talking about the future (I had a feeling it was coming) we walked around the park and ended at at a gazeebo with rose petals everywhere, lit candles, and a guy with an acoustic guitar ( a pretty fly coincidence). He got on one knee, teared up and proposed.
<-- Theres the rock.
