Wedding Invitation
Updated...

This is the invitation design I cam up with that I think I am going to use. The white paper will (hopefully) be a pearlescent white - kind of shimmery like the pink.

I am getting more paper in so that I can test it in my printer and look at other options before ordering a large amount.

Has anyone printed using the metallic paper? The website says that it might be hard to print on with home printers so I was just wondering.

Also, any suggestions for closing the invitation and/or adding bling?

I love those invites all you need to add is a nice monogram on the front or a bling accent buckles with ribbon.

How did you do that image on the response cards?

I have printed on metallic shimmer but I also have a laser printer I use. I love shimmer paper so another option if it doesn't work well on YOUR printer...is take the files and paper to a local printer like staples, office max, or kinkos...and just pay them to make the copies....you supply the file and paper so I couldn't imagine cost wise it wouldn't  be too bad. Just a thought...good luck!

I have been searching around for reasonable pocket invitations. All the ones I have found are so expensive.

Where did you get your pocket invites?

Thanks girls for the great ideas!  Here are the answers to the questions:
1.  I am assuming you mean how I got the pictures alighned and everything?  First I started off with my templates for each card stacked "on top" of one another in publisher.  I had my image and made four copies of it (one on top of another exactly where I wanted it to fall on my template).  Then I cropped each one individually to the desired height (still on top of the templates).  Then I grouped each pocket template with the correct sized cropped picture.  Does this help?  If you need more info, let me know.
2.  I am going to get them from paperandmore.com - they are about the same prices as cards and pockets but the pockets are larger (at least on my samples) and I have found that they are very quick with sending everything. They also have TONS of colors and a few different styles.

Those are adorable! It'll be a while before I do mine, so I can't really help with your questions, but I totally love the look!

WOW these look absolutely amazing!!  I don't know anything about printing on metallic paper cause our home printer is broken, so I uploaded my invitation designs (created by a fellow bride named Nearlycapone08) onto VistaPrint and then got them printed out from there...but they don't offer metallic paper!!  Anyways, I can tell you about printing things from Office Max though cause I printed all of our fan programs from there...and it would get kinda price if you have colored ink!!  I just went with black ink because I'm alternating between blue and white paper for each panel of the fan programs, and so it was only $.08 a copy for me cause I provided my own cardstock too.  But at first I was thinking of doing colored ink, but I immediately turned that idea down when I found out it would be $.49 a copy and I needed 240 copies (2 pages each for 120 programs)!!!  Anyways, so if it doesn't work in your printer, then it can get pretty expensive having things printed somewhere else if you have colored ink....so just some things to think about!!  They look amazing though...good luck making them and keep us posted on how they all turn out!! ;-)

They look great! You did an amazing job!!!

What font did you use? I seem to be stuck in font hell and can't decide which one to use. Thanks!

Hi,
I used Edwardian Script ITC on this invitation... I am not convinced this is what I will be using yet though.  I like it but I want to play around some more.  Try going to dafont.com - it is a site where you can download different fonts.  You have to figure out how to do it - it took me a while because I'm computer illiterate, but it was worth it.  I kinda like one called Chopin Script (under calligraphy).

My advice would be to order a few different samples, kinds of papers, etc... and just play around with it.  Find a design you like online or a stamp you like (thats what I did for my save the dates) and just have fun with it.  The worst that could happen is you don't like it!  I like to get lots of opinions too!  Good luck - if you need any help, let me know!
