Here is the inspiration for my centerpieces. I knew I didn't want floral centerpieces (to cut down on costs) and I also knew I didn't want a display wedding cake (again to cut down costs). For my cake, I was thinking about just doing sheet cakes, but depending on the price, I think cupcakes would be so fun and very cute! For my centerpieces my mom had purchased some cute decorative birdhouses from Hobby Lobby. I was going to surround the birdhouse with small nests and candles, but was very uninspired by that idea. I found this picture and absolutely love the idea!!!!! I could cutely display the cupcakes at each table and still incorporate my bird houses. (Bonus: guests don't have to get up to get their cake.)
My mom opposes the idea. She thinks the stand will be too tall and will interrupt the flow of conversation amongst guests at the table. I told her #1 it really doesn't matter, because they're so cute and #2 I could try to find stands in staggering heights and place them side by side rather than on top of each other. Any ideas??
