AM I A FOOL FOR SPENDING CLOSE TO 30,000 FOR THIS WEDDING MY INITIAL BUDGET WAS 20,000 BUT I DONT SEE THAT BEING POSSIBLE RIGHT NOW. DO YOU THINK ITS TIME TO INLIST A WEDDING PLANNER OR WHAT??? I REALLY DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. I FINALLY PICKED THE LOCATION (TBA), AND THE CATER IS BEING FINALIZED, THE GREATTHING ABOUT THE CATERING COMPANY IS THAT THEY ACTUALLY DO EVERYTHING THE CAKE THE TABLE SETTINGS, THE FLOWERS EVERYTHING SO NOW THAT LEAVES ME WITH MY WEDDING DRESSES YES I HAVE A CEREMONY DRESS AND RECEPTION DRESS, MAKE-UP,HAIR, AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN, MUSICIANS AND SINGERS, FAVORS, POTOGRAPHY AND VIDEOGRAPHY, OH AND THE FACT THAT THE WOMEN THAT ARE ON THE BROOM*(BRIDE GROOM) SIDE WILL BE HAVING THEIR OUTFITS MADE

You are not a fool....Mine is is already at the 50K mark....and that is just for the hall and food!!  all send and done i think i will be at the 75k Mark...OMG OMG  i wanted to elope!!!   But my parents offered to pay for the wedding so whatever.. hehe,,,,,

oh so lucky your parents are paying for the wedding we are actually coming out of pocket for ours i might have to sell a kidney or a liver. lol

They are just paying so i can hurry up and have kids  they are desperate to have grand kids LOL!!!  I dont even want kids haha

You're definitely not a fool. If there's anything not 100% necessary in your budget that you're willing to part with you could try and trim the budget there. One of the bigger expenses is how many people you invite: you could save a lot of money by inviting fewer guests (which leads to fewer tables, fewer centerpieces, less food and drink, fewer favours, etc).

ours is getting the same way...

I originally thought I shouldn't go over budget because I dont want to be paying off credit cards when I get back from my honey moon.

But now I feel (with in reason) I don't want to look back and say "geeze I wish we had done this..."

Im only getting married once and you really can't redo it (renewing vows is not the same thing)

so dont put yourself in debt but allow yourself to splurge in reason for you, your groom, your guest and your memories of your day!

I just want to cry every time i think of the budget.... we are trying to stay at 40k
i hope we dont go any higher
