Wedding Reception
Disaster at the last minute
hi ladies, its really been long since i was on WBC, time has moved really fast for me, i can hardly believe at some point i had more than 100 days to the wedding. well i have exactly 20 days before my bridal shower, my outfit is being made by the tailor, want to look like a real African princess.
i got my wedding dress & guess what its a little bit too tight i need a plan which will help me lose weight quickly especially around the hip and butt. any suggestions i am really in a fix. on the hand more stress is coming my way. the place where we had booked for venue is being renovated & we were just told they will be refunding us meaning we are in desperate need of a venue for the wedding & looking at our dates it won't be easy because everybody will be getting married around the same time during the 4 days break. wow don't know what to do i am so frustrated and feel like nothing is going right, to worsen things my man & I are fighting everyday due to the pressure we are experiencing, i can't even remember the last time we kissed, hard to believe right? guess its life. |

More Frustrations
my wedding
my week didn't start so well, i am so frustrated & feel like giving up on everything.
My man & I are both Christians of the seventh day adventist church though we are not staunch SDAs;we are the more flexible type or modernized. we want to have a church wedding because we believe for any marriage to work out it needs to start with God . we have started counseling sessions with a pastor from our church & we were happy with him as he seemed to be the flexible type till last night when my man called me all frustrated & told me that the pastor demands we have bridesmaids who are baptized seventh day adventists, WOW!!!!!!!!!1 i don't even know how to express my shock coz most of my friends ain't even seventh day & we are having our wedding in a town where we both don't live in so where are we supposed to find the people he wants, then i get informed that even the wedding planner whom we call the matron here has to be that as well and what puzzles me the most is this includes the reception when the pastor doesn't even have the right to control the wedding reception, with the church service its perfectly understood but the reception is independent. i am sorry if there 's anyone who is adventist but to hell with the hypocrisy in the church, what 's wrong with having people who ain't SDAs if we call ourselves Christians & is it the pastor 's wedding or its our wedding. at this point my man & i are planning to have the wedding outside the church coz it won't make any sense for us to spend a lot of money on something we won't enjoy. i am so confused, i have a terrible headache since last night, nothing seems top be making sense. i need guidance, whatever will help i am messed up!!! |

Wedding cake & Decor
a good day deserves a smile
Well, who knew that i would be grinning from ear to ear today, My man & i got busy finalizing wedding issues, we met with our planner & we managed to find someone to do our cake, it will be a 6 tier though she will make it 7 as she makes an extra one for any number of tiers ordered. she also does decor so we decided to have her do everything after all this only comes once in one's lifetime so we deserve the best; she is really good and quite affordable. we loved the samples she showed us of the decors she has done before, she is really creative i like her & can't wait to work with her, we are thinking of having something like what is on the picture (one of the two). i totally love the one with purple more, what do u think ladies?

hey ladies, guess my week has started on a good note, my man & i made it a point to find us rings for the wedding & guess what God has a way of turning things around after the stress i went through He opened the door for us, we got our rings right in the place where we were not looking, i love my ring and i can't wait to wear it after saying I do on that day.

Wedding Frustrations
My Fhubby & i have been struggling to find the rings we want as wedding bands, i haven't come across anything i really love, i am so frustrated coz i only asked for 12 days leave from work & nothing seems to be working out the way i had planned. i have also been trying to find shoes for my dress but in vain, i feel so stressed out don't know where to start from.

After the Big Day...
i have been wondering about something for sometime now. here i am enjoying having to interact with beautiful brides from all over the world, sharing ideas & wedding pressures, but what happens after the wedding, everyone whose gotten married seems to go quite after the wedding.
don't we need to share the after life? i thought bonds should never be broken, we still need each other even after, there may be other issues other than the wedding which we would feel we want to share within ourselves like how that honeymoon went or how marriage life is treating us. its just a thought nothing else!!!!!!!!!!! OH YES I DO!!!!!!!
Hey Ladies,
My man & I had a busy weekend, we started our premarital counselling, we met with our officiating pastor for the same. i must admit i was nervous, its never easy to be in the presence of elders especially when they are giving u advise on what to expect as u are getting into something, its kinda uncomfortable when u have to talk about sex & other personal issues. well he told us he doesn't do all the talking on the big day we will need to write our own vows which i really thought was cool, though i feel its a lot of work but atleast we will get to tell the world what we really feel for each other & the pastor insisted that not only do we get more involved we also take the vows seriously because we know what we would be committing ourselves to. i am kinda excited & nervous as well; i am not a good public speaker, i hope i won't forget my vows on that day guess i gotta keep it short & simple. wish me luck ladies!!!! |

woke up feeling so low today, but when i sat down to think of why i was sad and whether it was worth it; i figured why stress myself when God has given me this beautiful day to enjoy.
life is too short to live all grumpy. no one is worth stressing about, don't mind the thorns in your life there are there so they strengthen you & prepare you for better things to come. hope you all have a blessed day coz i am. Happy planning!!! |
