How it unfolded...
my big day!
In the grand tradition of WBC here's a run down of how our day went!
We spent the night before the Wedding with our attendants at the same hotel my folks and our OOT guests were staying at. We woke up early and began getting ready. I hear the boys took a dip in the hot tub and then C left to drop off the decorations at the reception site and run a few more errands! While this was going on I helped my mom and bridesmaids do their hair and then Kailey (a good friend) came and did my hair. Then my BM Steph did my make up and my mom and MOH helped me into my dress. Getting everyone out of the hotel without C seeing me was difficult and required a lot of waiting, but eventually the boys were out and I left with my parents and MOH and met the other bridesmaids at the church! The ceremony was beautiful, and we all cried. C had the most beautiful vows. My sister sang to us and cried the whole way through, making everyone else cry! It was so special. The whole thing was magical. We forgot the lighter for the unity candle, but that seemed to be the only hiccup! After the ceremony all the guests left and the wedding party waited half an hour for our limo! Because it was so late, we almost missed out on our photo venue, but the group behind us were late too, so it worked out! We got some amazing shots in the garden where C proposed! My folks thoughtfully brought snacks and water, and we actually had a lot of fun! Once we got to the reception site it was a little hectic. We had to quickly help finish the decorating, but some guests and my family helped out a lot, and due to the cocktail/dance floor and dining room being seperated, most guests had no idea! The decorations looked great, and the room was simply elegant! Not overdone at all! The reception was a blast! Dinner was delicious, the speeches were so sweet, and dancing was a riot! The staff were fantastic, and the guests all said that they had never laughed and cried so much in the same day, and that it was the best wedding they'd ever been to! C and I are just happy that everyone had fun! We arrived at our honeymoon suit very late, took a shower, and had a fantastic night! We woke up, got room service, and headed back to C's mom's for gift opening and goodbyes. We went on a little mini-moon to the states. It was nice. We did some shopping, had some delicious food and are now looking forward to something tropical this winter! I won't post vendor reviews because everyone (other then 5-star limos) was amazing! Our wedding day was a fantastic prelude to what I know will be a very wonderful life! We had a remarkable day and are looking forward to our future as husband and wife! P.S. The pictures are becoming a nightmare to upload, so I'll keep trying as the day goes on! |

I now pronounce you...
husband and wife!
Well its been a couple of weeks as a wife, and I have to say I'm very happy. The ceremony was so beautiful with a ton of happy tears. C started crying when my first bridesmaid and little sister entered crying and bawled when I came down the aisle. As soon as I saw him I lost it. I was so happy (not to mention C NEVER cries so I was shocked and knew he was just as thrilled as I was)! No major snafus other than forgetting a lighter and asking the guests for one! The limo was late, but we still managed to get all of our photos and arrive at the reception with a little time to help my parents finish decorating. It was hectic getting everything up, but because of the room layouts, no one really saw us setting up because they were on the dancefloor having cocktails! My red serge cake turned out amazing and C was really impressed with the gesture and turn out! The reception was a crazy fun party! We danced the night away! I've posted a couple of teasers from our photographer but I'll post more pro-pics when we get them in a couple of weeks. I just wanted to say hi and see how everyone is doing!

Ask a Question
what now?
First off... Happy Canada Day to all you Canadian Brides! I'm very proud to be Canadian (I am marrying a Mountie after all ;)! I hope you all have a wonderful day! Happy 142nd birthday to our wonderful country!
Secondly, I have just over a week, and I really feel like everything is now ready to go. I've even finished all my social and shower thank you cards! What should I do now? I am finished work for the summer, and I'd really like to keep busy. Any suggestions. Here's what's finished and ready to go! The totes are even packed per destination- "ceremony" and "reception" and then "hotel" -the rings -veil and shoes -wedding night lingerie and garter -random decor (I DO letters, flower petals, tulle, candles) -centerpieces (dining, cocktail tables, menus/ table #'s) -ceremony decorations (aisle runner, pew markers, unity candle etc.) -flowers (bouts, girls clutch arrangements, bouquet, toss bouquet etc.) -card box, seating chart, bathroom baskets, picture chart -table favors, guestbook singage frames, wish tree note cards -bridal party gifts & parent gifts -bachelorette favors What more can I do? I'll be phoning to confirm numbers and reservations tomorrow, and C is confirming our mini-moon plans on friday! I'm a little worried about not being more worried! lol |

Ask a Question
FMIL, is it okay to be annoyed?
I went into the city this weekend for a couple of bridal showers! C's mom planned one in her backyard garden on Saturday and a friend from the church planned one on Thursday night at our old church! We got a lot of great stuff! We were even given a BBQ!
My only issue with the showers was that C's mom made me decorate and clean up before and after! Not just help, but do it. All of it. She was inside getting dressed while C and I moved furniture and my mom (who just got in from OOT) decorated. Thank goodness for my wonderful fiance, family and bridesmaid! They helped me out so much. After the shower my bridesmaid and I managed to get everything done including moving back all of the patio furniture and buffet tables. I just don't know what to think of this. Is this normal? If not I don't know what else to do for C's mom. I don't mind helping out, especially because C and I are the ones who benefit, but am I right to at least be a little annoyed that she asked me to do it? She didn't even say thank you... :( I just needed to ask so that I can get it out and move on. What do you think of this situation? |

Bachelorette Party
FAVORS
I'm so excited for a fun night out with my ladies! They are planning the whole night, and the only thing I know is that we're going to have a great time! I did however offer to do the favors because I wanted in on the planning action too! I made up a gift bag and here's what each girl will get!
- a tiara - a lei - a bottle of bubbles - a candy ring pop - a pack of gum - a lip gloss - a "twisted" liquor shot - a flavored condom - a "girlfriend of the bachelorette" name tag (I think we'll find our porn star names and use them instead!) and - a "dare" checklist to be done in teams (nothing too scandleous) |

Ask a Question
What now? Should I be busier?
Anyone else finished most of their DIY projects and planning? I'm less than a month until the wedding and I feel like I should be more stressed or busy? My showers and (hopefully final) dress fitting is this weekend and then all I really have left to do is write thank you cards and confirm all reservations and bookings! I'm actually a little worried... what should I be doing now?

Wedding Social
we had a blast!
Our wedding social was last weekend, and we had a great time! I stressed out so much about it, and it ended up going off without a hitch! C's mom, although she drives me nuts, worked so hard and added several wonderful touches! Our local wedding party and family pitched in so much, and our friends from past and present showed up by the HUNDREDS! We had 29 prizes in total, with an ipod touch, patio set, BBQ, camping set and a hot air balloon ride as the grand prizes! People loved it and our DJ (shout out to AJ Sanchez) was incredible. He catered to every age group and everyone commented on how great he was. Thanks to everyone who gave tips and suggestions for making this event successful! It was wonderful!

Ask a Question
hot glue hatred anyone?
Just a little tired from losing the last couple of weekends to DIY... Anyone else feeling tired of this? I worked on photo collages, wish tree tags, place cards, and signage this weekend and I'm spent... What have you been working on, and how are you doing?
