If there has been one element of wedding planning that I have been dreading, it would be putting together the table plan. However I got over my dread and began to tackle it last weekend, and we got a long way with it.
Then this weekend I had to go and show some vendors the reception venue, and we started playing around with the table and chair setup, I then realise at this point that we can only fit less chairs than I had anticipated around the tables - nooooooooo! So it's back to the drawing board with the table plan that took us hours and hours to do last weekend.
I am not looking forward to it, but I should have known it wouldn't be that straightforward, I hear table plans never are! :-( At least I've worked this out before the wedding day I guess..

I hope since you've done this the second time will be easier!
Good luck!
@lynnie11276 - My Mother has been a God-send with the whole wedding planning! But the table plan had her wondering what to do -lol. We'll work it out though.
@hashbrown - That seems like a good idea going for 8, you'll have spares to play with then. I'm now looking at putting seats where I hadn't originally wanted seats, to make sure that everyone fit in comfortably.
@sweetlatina - Thanks for the advice, I am going to try and take my time and not stress this time.
@savagehart - Don't be scared - lol. I'm sure yours will be more straightforward than mine! Thanks
Get a science board from your office supply store. Cut out X amount of large circles (this represents the # of tables). Then cut out X amount of little circles to place around the big circle (chairs) Then get little sticky arrows, you can write the name of the guest on the stick and seat them at their table. As your seating plan changes, so can your arrows. You can move them around the circles or to different circles.
It's working for me and might be helpful for you too, goodluck!
Thanks for the advice, and good luck with your plan :-)
