Marriage Certificate
Things I didn't know
I ordered my marriage certificate today :) I will soon be able to change my name on all my documents yay.
I didn't know too much about this process as it was my husbands job to get the licence. He got the marriage license, we signed it at the church and then it was sent off to be registered. We were given a little certificate which I thought was to be used to change my name etc. On the back of this certificate it says "this is not legal proof of marriage". hu? Well when do I get my real certificate. Well I had to apply for it today and also pay again to get it lol Who knew?? So just beware...you still need to apply for your certificate after you are married. Keep this in mind as the sooner you do it the sooner you can change everything you need to. |

Market Place
Selling a brand new wedding dress
So I had two wedding dresses. I bought one. They wanted another one so I bought it. They I decided I wanted to wear the first one...and ended up wearing the second one lol. So I am now selling the first one. It is still in the garmen bag with all the tags still on. It was only worn once to try it on for 5 min. It is stunning and I wish I could justify keeping it but I will never have anywhere to wear it as I don't plan on getting married again and I do not regulary attend balls lol.
It is Mia Solano Color: Ivory Size 8 Corset back Hmmmm what else. The beading is stunning and the pictures do not do it justice. I paid $940 for it and am willing to sell it for $600 plus shipping. I will accept paypal |

Ask a Question
$500 Wedding reception??
So our wedding came in about $10,000 over budget. Not a big deal, we were expecting to be about $5000 over anyway. We agreed we would have a reception in Calgary when we got back as a lot of people could not travel...especially his side. We got a gift the other day for $500. I said we should use that for the Calgary reception and make our budget $500. Sooo here I go. On a mission to do a $500 2nd reception :) The guest list will be fairley big for a BBQ as not a lot of people could travel. I say at the very least $100. We will have to make the guest list this week.
Think I can do it?? How over do you think I will end up being???lol Some ideas: - I will hold it at my FIL's house, He has a huge back yard - It will be a BBQ. We will buy the meat (and veggie meat) family and/or close friends to help make a side dishes. - We make wine and have about 100 bottles so we will supply the wine and get a few cases of beer. - Potted plants are 50% off right now....and will soon be $75. I can search for some not dead looking ones as centerpieces. - Tables are only $7 to rent and chairs are $1 sooo just get a couple of those for people to sit. - Paper and plastic all the way for cups and plates - Don't need much in the line of decorating. The patio is beautiful and full of flowers and the background is a ranch with the mountains in the distance. He also has great lighting out there some twinkle lights (already own) and I should be good to go. - I was thinking bochie ball and horseshoes as some activities Which we already have. - We have a projector already to project our wedding pictures all night...on the side of the house most likely. |

First Dance
Our Songs
The first dance song was hard for me. Dona nd I did not have a song. I heard this one on the radio and it was perfect. If you have not heard it download it. It is romantic :) I didn't want a country song but this song was too perfect. The dance was amazing. Don busted out some great moves and It was beautiful :) My daddy and I danced to "What a wonderful world" :) the typical father daughter dances just didn't work for me.
"Then" - Brad Paisley I remember, trying not to stare the night that I first met you You had me mezmorized And three weeks later, in the front porch light taking forty-five minutes to kiss goodnight I hadn't told you yet but I thought I loved you then Chorus And now you're my whole life now you're my whole world I just can't believe the way I feel about you, girl Like a river meets the sea, stronger than it's ever been. We've come so far since that day And I thought I loved you then And i remember, taking you back to right where I first met you, You were so surprised There were people around, but I didn't care Got down on one knee right there once again, I thought I loved you then Chorus And now you're my whole life now you're my whole world I just can't believe the way I feel about you, girl Like a river meets the sea, stronger than it's ever been. We've come so far since that day And I thought I loved you then I could just see you, with a baby on the way And I could just see you, when your hair is turning gray What I can't see is how I'm ever gonna love you more But I've said that before And now you're my whole life now you're my whole world I just can't believe the way I feel about you, girl We'll look back someday, at this moment that we're in And I'll look at you and say And I thought I loved you then And I thought I loved you then |

I'm Married!!!
We did it :)
Well I have not posted at all in a while as this site got around to friends and family and I did not want the details to get out. I have however still been checking out all your blogs :)
Anyway on June 20th I had my wedding day, It was honestly the best day of my life :) I will now post my details in a past tense way since it doesn't matter who sees it! Some little tips I learned wedding day: Make sure you sneak in lots of time with you new hubby. People will be pulling you guys in different directions. Make sure you reconnect throughout the night. The one thing that people told me that if I didn't keep it on my mind It would have been very easy to not do it to just take the time to stop and enjoy what is going on. When you are getting married take a moment to look at everyone's faces who came to share the day and see the looks on their faces. the big smiled...the tears...and the full on criers lol. Enjoy every moment because it helps stop time and makes the day last longer. It will be so easy to get lost in everything. Something WILL go wrong on your wedding day. Hopefully it will be fixed before you even know but if not....noone else notices at all. and the people who know are right there to fix it. everyone wants to help :) The thing that went wrong at mine was the venue people were supposed to move the tables for the dance while people went upstairs to the bar for a drink. Well the girl in charge forgot to get me to sign a labor aggreement and was not there and the guys would not move the tables. The grooms men and waiters/caterer stepped in and moved them themselves :) You will not have time to touch up your make-up. If you do you will not know where your make-up is lol. Make sure it is on there good before you start. People told me I would not have time and I was like oh yes I will, I'll make sure...No I did not. Not even lip gloss. If you want lip gloss stick it in your dress somewhere. Do not over estimate the amount of time you have to get ready. You will most likely be late haha. I was by about 15 Min. Hair took way longer than I thought and then my dress took forever to lace up. Don't forget the small, everyday stuff. I did not brush my teeth on my wedding day lol. I forgot. Deodorant is another thing i put on very early but did not reapply before the wedding....reapply lol. At the reception if you NEED to go somewhere else in the room...you need to pick up your dress and run. Otherwise you will be stopped 10 times....or never make it. Something I didn't really realize is You are the star and the reason people are even there so everyone wants to talk to you and take their picture with you. Be prepaired for that. Watch your veil. When people hug you they trap your veil. If your head is up a bit your get stuck like that. Lean in with your head down to create a little slack so your veil doesn't pull your hair lol. Tell your fh to go under your veil for the kiss just to be safe....and it will look cuter :) You will not remember the song you walk down the aisle to. You will not hear any of the words to your first dance song but you will remember your vows perfectly :) The honeymoon stage is not a myth lol. Don and I are even bigger love nerds! It's amazing. You will LOVE being a wife. It is a very sureal feeling. Yay for weddings, Stay tuned for all the details and Pictures :) Plus I have a reception for Calgary to plan! |

Jewlery
Got your heart set on some pricey jewlery??
Are you hoping to wear some expensive jewlery for your big day but can't afford the hefty price tag. I came to the conclusion while watching the Golden Globes.....Why not rent??? Stars do it all the time for big events. Its is really affordable. You can rent pieces that retail for anywhere between $300 to $20,000 and pay $20 to $200 a week. I checked out a few sites:
