~Our Renewals~ I STILL DO- DO I STILL Updated: I changed the outside card to ivory and fu...
So, if you're like me, you probably have friends that are also getting married at this point in their lives. Well, I found this great inspiration idea for a gift - either bridal or wedding.
It's a wine basket (or you could give a wine rack) with different bottles of wine to celebrate moments in their first year of marriage.
I love this idea and will be doing it for a friend getting married this year!
A few suggested poems are below that can be attached to the bottles or be used to create labels. I think for the one for my friend, instead of wine for the baby, I'll do sparkling cider or something like that and come up with a new poem and maybe also swap one of the others for first new years eve together and put a bottle of champagne instead of wine, just to change it up a bit.
The night you have dreamed of is finally here,
The future surrounds you with hope and yet fear.
Youve been to the chapel and married your soulmate,
So sip this wine and toast this date.
The night is meant for you each to share,
Mary and John a perfect pair.
First Dinner party
Youll open your home for guests to eat,
A place for old friends to catch up and new ones to meet.
When the night is over two hosts share this wine,
Dont sit down yet pull up your sleeves its clean up time.
When fights occur and tempers are steaming hot,
Pour a glass, take a sip and be thankful for what youve got.
For in a marriage it would certainly be a bore,
If everyone agreed and said nothing more.
First Christmas Eve
A wise man once said wine is better than beer,
Now is the season for friends and family to draw near.
Pop the cork for a toast when the night is through,
Kiss goodnight, close your eyes and Santa will be good to you.
On your first anniversary youll wonder where the time goes,
No longer are you newlyweds, soon youll be pros.
The days have found you in good health and spirit,
Keep saying I love you one always needs to hear it.
Now raise your glass to this date as the first, not the last,
And as you build your future dont ever forget the past.
The news that a baby will soon share your life,
Will make you a mother not only a wife.
Youll see the child through good times and bad,
Mary the loving mother and John the dearest dad.
Now John must drink this one alone, Mary with an empty glass.
Sit back and relax nine months quickly pass!
