Wedding Planners and Organizers
So my sister is my MoH and her wedding is Dec 2011.
For her gift, I'd like to get her a wedding organizer. She really wants the following one, but I was wondering who else had used some nice organizers and if they had any to recommend. Found my shoes!
I saw these shoes a few days ago but they were almost 40 dollars w/o shipping and I'm a budget bride. Just finally got a few moments to research them at a cheaper price and found them on amazon, with shipping for 28.95. Woot Woot!
I do NOT do heels. My next option would have been to wear my gray and black tennies that i already put orange laces in =] |

DIY Garters
Since I'm in Canada with my fiance for most of the time, my mother has been doing SO much of the planning and DIY for the wedding. And I am BEYOND thankful. A couple months ago, I purchase all of the items for my garters, and my mother finally sewed them this weekend. She missed the message where I told her to use the orange or yellow feathers i had mailed in instead of the brown ones i originally bought.
Aside from that, I think they turned out pretty cute! There's actually supposed to be a second ring on the main garter but I'll just have to deal with that when I get into town this weekend! It cost about 25 in materials and at least I got what I wanted. I know lots of people charge around 20 for a custom garter but they're never just what I want =] |

Card Box Finished! (pretty much)
So, I finally finished my DIY Card box. PHEW! Only thing missing is these 2 heart picture frames that go on the front of the square box. Still need to take pictures to use for it! lol.

I get most of my stuff from China Sellers so it's super cheap. Here's what I've paid for everything (all prices include shipping)- Crystals- $10 for 9k pieces. 5k in orange, and 4k in clear. Heart Bags- (50) 4"x5"h Orange Bags with Gold Hearts- 7.98 Star Bags- (30) 4"x5"h Orange Bags with Gold Stars- 2.98 Mulberry Paper- (20) 9x12"h Sheets of Orange Paper- 7.99 Feathers- (30) of each in Gold, Orange, Hot Orange, White - 6.90 Gold Bead Strands- (24) Strands of Gold Bead, 2ft per strand- 6.30 Dress- Flower Girl Dress in Ivory w/Orange Bow- 22.75 There's tons more too but I can only see 60 days of history lol. Poor Canada
Poor Canada. There's one VERY important thing they are missing up here. A Hobby Lobby. For anyone that wants DIY things at a wedding, I feel sorry if you live in Canada. I think the number one thing that I miss when staying up here is Hobby Lobby.

Wedding Shower
Sigh...
I'm just taking to here to rant, and I feel like a selfish Bridezilla to do so, but I just can't help it. I think we had about 40 invites go out for the Shower, and only 13 showed up. It's not that I'm mad that I didn't get presents or whatever, but I just felt so alone. Not a single one of my friends showed up. 6 people from the church showed up, and 7 family members/family friends showed up.
Most of all, I was disappointed that my step sister didn't show up. My step sister was actually my best friend in high school. My mom ended up marrying my best friend's dad. I was just beyond hurt that she didn't even show up. She wrote me a message on facebook apologizing and I think that just made me more upset. The fact that I wasn't worth a phone call. On top of everything, border control decided not to let my fiance over so I was all alone for it all. We've had nothing but trouble with border control. They want this huge paper trail to prove that he isn't going to stay in the US and I swear they are just trying to torture me now. They didn't even let him over for CHRISTMAS. That was the last time we tried until this past weekend. It's going to be a complete gamble whether or not they let him over for the actual Wedding and it's completely stressing me out. All I can do is cross my fingers and hope for the best. Okay, I'm done ranting now! On another note, the bridesmaid's dress we ordered from china, came in the WRONG color and is above my sister crotch!! They are taking it back and we just HAPPENED to come across this GORGEOUS black dress that my sister was also able to wear for homecoming. For THREE TIMES the price of the first dress, she better get a lot of wear out of it! |
