Bar service through the venue/caterer was EXPENSIVE and didn't agree with our extreme budgeting. LOL. But a cash bar was NEVER an option for our wedding (just our opinion. No offense). So we will be bringing in our own alcohol which is saving us a ton of money!
Fellow BYOB brides, here's a tool I found helpful. I have been using these for years for parties and events I have thrown in the past. They have been ON THE MARK with how much alcohol you should purchase for guests. I use 2 different calculators to compare them against each other and they are usually both around the same amount.
-Plug in the duration of your reception (or the duration that the bar will be open. We are closing our's 1 and 1/2 hour to 2 hours early for our guests safety).
-Enter how many of your guests are light, average, and heavy drinkers
-Include what you will be serving (soda, beer, wine, and liquor)
-Get the amount of alcohol you should purchase!!!

Hope this helps you like it's helping me!!
We're going to do a cocktail hour with signature drinks and beer,a champagne (preferably sparkling wine) toast and the shots for the dollar dances. There is a bar in the resort if people would like to drink more.
