Finally!! Bridesmaids Gifts Are Done!!!
Yay! I have finally finished the bridesmaid tote bags with gifts ... they were a very daunting project, as I put a lot of time into them! They look great though, and I hope the girls love them!
The tote bags - for the BMs/MOH, I ordered them from JessicasWedding.com and had them monogram them with their first inital (only $15!!) and for the JrBMs/FGs, I actually found theirs at Walgreens for $5 each! Scooted over to Hobby Lobby, bought some iron on letters, and they are done! The different patterns are adorable for them I think. Flip flops ~ Rhinestones and I do not get along I learned on this project. I decided to go with paper flowers instead and glued rhinestones to the middles ... I really like how they turned out :) These are the poems I used for the flip flops: For the MOH/BM's: Dance around in your stilettos and never miss a beat, But when they ache just take a break and wear these on your feet! For the JR BM's/FG's: You'll walk and smile the whole day through, Your feet might hurt, mine probably will too. So when the ceremony's over, enjoy this special treat Kick off those fancy shoes and show off your flip flop feet! The necklaces and earrings I thought I would never finish! I really like the way they turned out though - the pic doesn't do them justice. The tanks turned out pretty good too - I used 3 different colors to add some fun - and bought iron on transfers from ebay and ironed them on. They say not to use ribbed tanks, but I didn't have any problems, so I would use them again! |

B-Day
It's my Birthday? Oh Yeah! ...
This is not wedding related, but I wanted to share ~ my aunt called me a couple of days ago and asked what I wanted for my birthday (it's on Sunday) ... and I paused for a moment, because I completely forgot it was my birthday!!! I just started laughing, but at the same time, felt like an idiot because I really am eating, sleeping, and dreaming wedding things ... normally I make a huge deal about it and I actually like to think I have a "birthday week" to party ... I think maybe too I don't want to do much because I feel that people will be giving us gifts for the wedding and have been helping us out, so I feel guilty celebrating something else related to us ... who knows. With the wedding only a week away, I feel that taking a day away to do birthday things would be a distraction for me ... isn't that horrible?! I do know that it's 2 days away though and I think this is the first time in my life I don't care if we do anything ... weird.

Ask a Question
Thank You Parasols?
Hey there ... how many of you are doing a Thank You Parasol, and are you including parasols anywhere else in your wedding? I love the idea, just am not sure it will look right considering we aren't using them anywhere else ...
The more opinions sooner the better, as this may be a last minute today project!! Also, I have seen a bride suggest instead of painting it, to photoshop and add thank you there instead ... has anyone done that? If so, how did it turn out? |

Wedding Day Survival Kit is Complete!
I went and found a perfect size tote bag today and put everything in it :) I know it's not our wedding colors but it was too cute to pass up and I know I'll use it in the future ... I bought a lot of travel sized items, and some more than one, but I think I have everything covered! After I put everything in, I made a sign for the front pocket and typed everything that was in it in alphabetical order so hopefully whoever needs something will find it. I hope I didn't miss anything, and I hope it comes in handy on our day (only if we need it, of course!)

Decorating Sand Ceremony Jar?
Hey - of those of you that are doing the Unity Sand Ceremony, are any of you putting anything on the "container" that is going to hold your sand? We don't want to etch anything on it, and I have tried rub on transfers without any luck ... are any of you putting any sort of different design on yours to make it stand out? Or are you leaving it plain? Please let me know!
The second picture is ours - I put the tote bag behind it so you could see it better. The middle jar is where we are going to put the sand, and then we are going to have a candle on top of it and light it when we want to after we are married (we are big candle people). Please let me know what you are doing! Thanks! |

Music
Our Final Music Selections Are Done!!!
Here is our final list - I am really excited, and think it is going to be beautiful :)
Grandparents/Mothers Prelude Music: "Forrest Gump Suite" by Alan Silvestri (beautiful .... don't let the name fool you!!) Then, music fades out, 2 junior bridesmaids walk down ringing bells Music comes back in for bridesmaids/groomsmen and flower girls: "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by IZ My processional: "Canon in D Major" by Pachelbel Then, we aren't going to have any music during the ceremony, but for our recessional, we are going to start with: "Suddenly I See" by KT Tunstall - chorus only, loop twice, then "Lucky" by Jason Mraz for everyone else to leave to, continue playing until all wedding party members have walked back :) Intro to Reception: Each Bridesmaid/Groomsman pair chose a song to be introduced to (they all know each other, and they definitely didn't hold anything back for us giving them free selection!!) and it will play for about 30 seconds when they walk from the entrance to the dance floor BM/GM 1 - Party Like a Rockstar BM/GM 2 - Buttons by the Pussycat Dolls BM/GM 3 - Late in the Evening by Simon and Garfunkel MOH and BM - I'm Too Sexy (pretty funny ...) Jr Best Man (Grooms Son) - Fire Burning by Sean Paul Jr Bridesmaids/Flower Girls - This is Me by Demi Lovato and our introduction song: "Pour Some Sugar on Me" ... SO EXCITED!!! It fits us perfectly - when we met, I was bartending and actually kicked him out the first time I met him because he kept throwing sugar packets at me, and kept telling me I needed to be sweeter to him ... that night, it really pissed me off ... now, I know that the minute he saw me he knew I was for him ... kinda sweet to look back at that and think about it now :) 9 more days...9 MORE DAYS!!! |

Wedding Day Survival Kit
Wedding Day Survival Kit
I have decided, instead of giving each of my bridesmaids their own individual "survival" kits, to do one big one instead for all of us (I would have had to do 6 plus one for me - it was going to be pricey!!). Since we will all be together that day all day anyways, I figured this would be better because then I can get more things for the cost of everything, so there is more for whatever emergency we may need it for. This is what I am going to include:
Brush, Mirror, Nail Files, Hair Spray, Visine, Tums, Aspirin, Pepto-Bismol, Band-Aids, Deodorant (a few travel ones), Moist towelettes, Always Wipes to Go, Tampons, Q Tips, Cotton Swabs, Bobby Pins, Shout Wipes, Kleenex, Wash towel/Hand Towel, Duct tape (for quick repairs), 2 sided tape, Straws, Chalk, Static Cling Spray, Downy Wrinkle Reducer Spray, Corsage pins, Lint Brush, Sewing Kit, lotion, safety pins Snacks/bottled water, Umbrellas, Notebook and pens I am going to go look for a cute tote bag tomorrow to put it all in :) A major plus to this too (and maybe I'm being selfish), is that we are buying a lot of travel size things that we can bring on the honeymoon ... so that will save us some money there too. Yay! |

Ask a Question
Makeup Trial ... what do you think?
Okay, so I had my makeup and hair trials today ... for makeup, I had MAC do it ... HIGHLY recommend them!!! The first pic is right after I got my makeup done, and the second pic is 9 hours later with it when I decided to start the long job of undoing my hair ... so still good on the makeup, but by then the lipstick had come off and I wiped off the bottom eyeliner to see what I liked better ... overall I am definitely happy with it. The day of (OMG only 12 days away!!) I am definitely going to touch up the lipstick, and probably not wipe off the bottom eyeliner ... that is where you come in - should I go for the more dramatic effect the day of? Or the more natural? Let me know your thoughts ...
My appointment the wedding day is at 12:30, and the wedding doesn't start till 6 ... so let's hope for the best. Plus,we are having an outside wedding ... so hopefully it won't melt off that day!!! And I had a tube top on ... though you can't really tell in the pics lol ... |
