Bridesmaids
Love my girls <3
I have the best wedding party ever! 3 of my very closest friends and my best friend in the whole world, my sister are standing up in my wedding. Although I am the last to get married, they have all been really supportive and helpful with everything. I love a drama free wedding party, it makes things so much fun. We are at the 129 mark, and one of my bridesmaids just called to tell me we were able to book the whole weekend for my bachelorette party. I think the reality is finally setting in. I was kind of feeling lost in the whole wedding planning sceme of things, but the shower is coming fast and the wedding will be here before you know it.
I am so excited for the gifts I have gotten my girls, I got each of them about 5 things and spent between 50-60 on them. What is the average for bridesmaid gifts and what are some of the things you have chosen for them...I would love to share but they read my posts and dont want to give away the surprises. |

Wedding Hair Style
Urgh why is it so hard to decide
So I have a bit of a dilema...I have a headpiece that just looks beautiful with my dress. I love the way it looks but is meant to be worn on the top of my head. It is not a tiara, but was made for the top of the head. The hair style I am leaning towards (see pics) is a an up do that is worn low on the back of the neck. I love how it has a little volume and looks full and not pinned tight to the head. The problem is, I am not sure how the headpiece will look with this hair style. My trial hair appt is the week before the wedding, so I am thinking of her tying it up and down and then deciding, but is that too close to the wedding. Its really sad to say, but in the 5-6 wedding I have stood up in, I have never liked my hair...of all the things on my wedding day, I think my hair is the most important.
What are you girls doing and how did you decide? |

Invitations and Favors
Had a very busy weekend with my breastie! (I call her that because we both have big boobs and its a take on bestie...long story) I had found invitations at 50% off at Hobby Lobby! Love that place! I got 150 invitations for $30 and found a printer this weekend to print the invitation, the RSVP card and the Reception cards for $100! It is the best deal I have found so far. To dress them up a bit, I am going to add a ribbon in my blue color and call it a day! It is so great to almost have the invitation finished.
I also have been searching for damask paper in brown and light blue, and leave it to my breastie, but we found it at Crafts 2000. As soon as the paper comes in, im thinking of having my girls over to help assemble. I have made hair appointments for the day of, but still need to find a make up lady. Maybe I will start that search this weekend. The last big appointment we have is a meeting with our church, but I didnt get to call today because I found out the warehouse at my work caught fire over the weekend, so we had a lot of work to do at the office today. But there is always tomorrow. When the invitations and favors are done, I will post some pictures...129 DAYS! |

Getting the check list completed
Been away for a while
So it has been a while since my last post, just wanted to check in and fill you girls in on the progress. With the holidays behind us and only 5 months till the wedding, there is a lot to get done. Registered on line with Sears and Bed Bath and Beyond. I am finding it difficult to get my fiance to get anything on the registry. I think we should add whatever we want since we live together and its about time for some new sheets, dishes, towels and all the other things we could use around the house. He thinks people shouldnt spend that kind of money on us, and we dont need it because we already have it! UGH...so me and my sister (also maid of honor) are going to plan a Saturday and scan up the registry...boy wont he be surprised when we get some wonderful gifts at our shower.
Our cake is being made by a close friend on one of my bridesmaids parents. She does it out of her house, and we went over there on Saturday for a taste testing and to pick out the design. The invitations are coming along, I just need to get to the printer and get them printed up, but came in way under budget when it is all said and done. Lets see other than programs and typing up my favors and seating chart, I think I have it all under control. Any tips or pointers from some brides also around the 5 month mark, would be happy for input...happy planning to you all. |

Crepe paper pomanders
So I am attempting to make crepe paper pomanders. They are not as easy as I thought, but are so much cheaper than any you could buy. I have one made and 11 to go. I am using them on my pews down the isle at my wedding. I am very happy with the way they came out, if only I could get motivated to finish! Please tell me what you think. Once they are all made, I am thinking of adding a few crystal sprigs for some glitz!

Save the Date
I just got an email this morning, that all the proofs from our engagement session are ready. I will be sending out our save the dates the first week in December. I cannot belive that our date will be in writting! It is just so excited getting things marked off the list. I may add magnets to the back of our save the dates, but I have not decided yet. I found the template at Vistaprint.com very reasonably priced. The template allows up to 6 pictures, but I think we are just going to pick one. Once I have it ready to go I will post....7 months!

Engagement Photos!
We took our engagement photos on a 70 degree day in October. In Michigan it is hit or miss. The couple I got in a sneak peak look amazing! I am so excited to see the rest of them. As one of our parents Christmas gifts we are giving them one in a frame. I will also be doing our save the dates with a few of them using a template I found on Vistaprint.com. It is very reasonable priced. So to the ladies out there doing save the dates, how soon before the wedding is it appropriate to send them out, and what is too early?

Honeymoon
Passports being processed
My FH and I had a day off together, (that does not happen often this time a year with it being hunting season) and we applied for our passports. It was so much easier than I thought it would be, but way more expensive than I had planned. It was like adding another $250.00 to the cost of the honeymoon! We should have them in 4-6 weeks, but were very lucky that our post office did the picture right along with filing the application. It is one more thing we can check off the list. If we decide to for go the big wedding and elope...we can!
