Ahhh, the fun perks of having oily skin. When I stress my back breaks out. It's not fun and it sucks...

Wedding Cake
Cake Finale
So I found this picture while looking a celebrity weddings. I think this cake is from the wedding of Eygpt, radio VJ for WBLS in NYC. I posted a picture a while back but after finding out the draping I wanted was going to cost a grip I decided on this photo.
The layers are in fondant, however I'm doing smooth buttercream icing to save money since my cake is included within my reception costs. I purchased the cake topper ande cake brooches shown on the ribbon from Dazzle Me Elegant. I originally was going to purchase from Toppers with Glitz but really frowned upon the price; could not see myself spending $130+ for a topper. The ribbon on the first and third tiers I purchased from Michaels and saved 50%. The rhinestone banding and edible rhinestones I purchased from Diamond Confetti Party. I will have the cake sitting on a sliver cake stand similar to picture number 2. I love the fondant design in the picture but once again was out of budget of where I want to apply monies. Tell me what you think. |

Waredrobe Change
Velour Sweatsuits and Air Jordan's
So the entire wedding party will be changing outfits during the reception. At first I wanted to change my dress to a shorter dress so I can party, but after seeing the Khloe's wedding I got the idea of changing into velour sweatsuits.
My girls will be wearing ballet style flats with them and have their roles engraved on the back of the jackets. I purchased the velour sweatsuits from Victoria Secrets, they had a 2 for $60 sale going on. I purchased the bridal party rhinestone transfers from Etsy (my favorite place) at the following shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/RhinestoneShoppe The guys however will be changing into Retro Air Jordan's. Majority of my FH guys are former athelete's so he thought it would be appropriate for them to wear. So we will all be comfortable and able to FULLY enjoy a night of dancing. Now we just have to find a song that we can all come out to as a way to wow our guests. We plan on doing the waredrobe change after the formalities which will be done pretty quickly. |

Honeymoon
Honeymoon Changed....We are crusining now!
So after the most tramatizing trip to Jamaica this summer for my future sister in laws wedding, I had to rethink our honeymoon plans. Back in March I was able to land a sweet deal with my best friends father. He traded out his time share for us to the Grand Cayman.
After coming back from Jamaica in August, I decided to research our resort in the Grand Cayman a little further. Well to my surprise the resort was 60 mins away from Georgetown which is the main tourist area. Reviews suggested that we rent a car, however since GC is a British colony they drive on the opposite side of the road...OH HELL NO... I'm not trying to die! On top of all that the resort charges a electricity tax or some type of usage fee. Needless to say I cancelled ASAP. Since my back was really up against the wall and I did not have much time to research other islands and what they had to offer. We decided to take a 7 day cruise. We will be cruising on the Ruby - Princess Cruises (their newest ship). Ports we will be visiting are Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, St. Marteen and St. Thomas. |

Rehearsal Dinner Booked
So after months of back in forth with numerous venues, my FH and I decided on P.F. Changs for our rehearsal dinner. Most venues you want you to spend a minimum of $1500 not included tax and gratuity and I could not see myself paying all that money just for a hour and a half dinner just to say thank you to our parent, grandparents and wedding party; especially since we are dropping money the very next day to feed everyone.
P.F. Changs is right around the corner from the venue and right up the street from the hotel the girls will be staying at. So everything worked out. Check out the menu for only $26.00/person. Menu 2 (Served family style) Starters - Changs Chicken in Soothing Lettuce Wraps - Quickly cooked spiced chicken served with cool lettuce cups - Dim Sum Sampler - Vegetable Spring Roll, Egg Roll, pork, shrimp & vegetable dumplings, & Crab wontons - Changs Spare Ribs Wok-Seared served with our Changs barbeque sauce Entrées Chang's Spicy Chicken Lightly dusted & stir-fried in a sweet Sichuan sauce, our version of General Tsos Mongolian Beef Quickly cooked steak with scallions and garlic Kung Pao Shrimp and Scallops A quick-fired traditional dish with peanuts, chili peppers and scallions Vegetable Lo Mein Egg noodles stir-fried with Broccoli, Snow peas, leeks, bean sprouts, red & green peppers, and shitake mushrooms Spicy Green Beans Stir-fried with Sichuan preserves, fiery chili sauce, and garlic Shrimp Fried Rice Mixed with egg, dark sauce, and sliced scallions All served with steamed white and brown rice Beverages - Organic French Roast - Soda and Iced Teas Dessert Banana Spring Rolls Six warm, crispy bites with coconut-pineapple ice cream, caramel & Vanilla sauces Great Wall of Chocolate Six layers of rich chocolate cake served with raspberry sauce and fresh berries |
