What is your best advice for dress shopping?

Keep an open mind and try on everything! This is your time so soak up the experience.

Bring: heels & your phone/camera.

Do: Think about how you will possibly style your hair on the big day. Take a hair elastic with you so you can pull it back if needed.

Also don't be afraid to speak up with your ideas. I specifically wanted a black ribbon belt around my dress, so everywhere I went to try on dresses I asked if they had any belts just so I could better envision my look.

I agree with cbabb try on everything!! I still ended up buying the dress i invisioned, but when else will you have a chance to try on all different kinds of beautiful dresses?

bring with you heels (I didnt have the ones i'm wearing yet for the big day, but they will help your posture. making you look different in the dress)

bring a camera.....some places will not let ou take pictures (keep that in mind)

Make sure you haev a strapless bra and underwear, that you dont mind your mom, sister, and the consultant seeing you in.

and yes bring a hair tie just incase!!

Also dont settle for something you dont like, but your mom and sister do.......trust me there is a dress out there that will make all three of you happy!! Trust me if i would have gotten the one my mom loved, i never would have found the dress of my dreams!!

And dont have anyone come with you that you wouldnt be okay with picking out a dress from the racks and you falling in live with it.......Trust me my FMIL picked out a dress that i loved.....one it was too much $ and two i realized i didnt want to give her the ability to say she picked out my dress. from then on I only brought my mom and one of my BMs (but i didnt let her pick any dresses) with me. it was very important to me that only my mom or i pick out the dress.....and it ended up being me.

Bring someone who will give you their honest opinion and still support whatever decision you make. theres nuthing like having a negative person with you while u make these drastic decisions.

try on every shape of gown you even dream about to know what looks good on you and your comfortable in..

clean undies, flat shoes, wedding jewelery if u want but most of all have fun!!! if u dont find it on the first day is ok!!! mweah!!

Dont let other people influence your decisions!

Take heels so you can get a better idea of the picture

Wear your hair in a similiar style you would like for wedding.  

Bring no more than about 3 or 4 close people whos opinion you have to have. Like your mom, sister, etc. Too many opinions will cloud your vision.

Dont go in with one dress style in mind....I did that....thought I only wanted mermaid...somewhere down the line...I wanted ballgown and now I have two dresses! LOL!

Dont go looking for it and expect to find it just go in with an open mind try  on dresses and enjoy the moment  have some idea of what you want ex. strapless,poofy no poof, sweet heart neck line or not long or short train.Bring heels dont bring everyone with you the more ppl the more opinions the more confused u will feel if you want to have a that moment take yr girl on one trip and then when you serious about findin one take the person who will more likely remeber its your day and be there to help not down every dress you like.Remeber they are there to help you not make you feel fustrated.Oh please remeber your budget I notice alot of brides go in with a price in mind but start looking at things they cant afford or not in the budget and guess what? thats the dress they want lol! Take your camera take some pics you may like something person but not in pics also gives you  the option of looking at them later and narow it to one or two dress you really like.I know you've prolly heard this before but its true or atleast it was in my case When you find Thee Dress you just know you feel amazing in it and fall in love with it you just have the moment in the mirror, keep your eyes open, you just never know where and when you find Thee Dress and when you do find it dont cheat on it by looking at others  you will just end up confused and with 2 dresses lol! save yourself the stress and stick to da one and never look again once you have it
