My fiancé, Mr. C., absolutely loves cookies! Any kind anywhere, it doesn’t matter. So I came up with the idea for a cookie buffet surprise, which would be totally just for him. He knows about the candy bar, (all chocolate) His groom’s cake is going to be a giant cookie, of course. But Along the same lines of the candy bar, we’ll have a variety of cookies set up in cookie jars. I’m even thinking of getting him some cookie shaped cuff links (etsy.com has everything) and I got a steal on cookie scented tea-light candles from Bath and Body Works, so the entire reception will smell like cookies. Might be a bit overboard, but they were on sale and the votives, which was what I was really after, were free! I didn’t come up with the cookie theme until after I bought the candles. I only picked the sugar cookie scent because the candles were white – lol.
So a while back I submitted a “share a deal” post on fortune cookies with an online deal thru eversave.com.
There were 2 options:
a) 150 custom message fortune cookies for $20 or
b) 2 extra large fortune cookies for $10
although I hadn’t come up with it yet I went with option “a” . Now I’m even more excited because it ties in really well with the “Our Sweet Day” theme and the cookie buffet wouldn’t be complete without fortune cookies! So I bought the online deal and waited about a month to place my order with the at: www.kcfortunecookiefactory.com
I was very pleased with the website. It offered you suggestions on how to customize your fortunes and you can even upload a really tiny image for free. What I had a hard time with was the online ordering process because you can create several different fortunes with a different front and back. I wanted a “Thank You Note” on the back of all of them and 8 different fortunes. Luckily the customer service is awesome. Once I got my order 90% correct I submitted it and ended up paying $14 extra in shipping. But for less than $40 I got 150 custom fortune cookies! No other website comes close.
AND after I placed my order I received an email asking if I wanted to delay my order to ensure freshness for the wedding. They even went through and corrected my online fortune blunders for me. I misspelled a word and one of the fortunes wasn’t allowing for the entire saying to show up. They fixed everything before it printed and I got them in the mail at the end of last week!
I was tempted and had to open just one to make sure it was correct. I didn’t opt to have the cookies separated into groups because that would have been an extra charge. My only complaint, if I have to say something, is that the fortune was stuck inside the cookie and wouldn’t come out unless I broke the cookie open. The cookie was pretty tasty too!
All in all I’d have to say that I am very happy with my decision to order the cookies and add them to our sweet day or “Day of Sweets”
