After a long and exhausting search I think I found all the different sites that carry quality silk and real touch flowers.
I'm a budget bride there was no way I was going give into the stereotype that flowers couldn't be beautiful and inexpensive. Heck, even the retail artificial bouquets cost atleast $75. That's plain crazy! The materials to make them don't cost half what people are charging. Don't get me wrong, I understand that time is money and you are paying for someone's time and experience to make floral arrangements. But really, how hard can it be to craft a semi-circle of flowers and tie them together with ribbon.
Ok, enough of my rants for the day. I really did find several very helpful sites that blow Hobby Lobby, Walmart, Michael's and AC Moore out of the water when it comes to prices, selection and in some cases quality. After receiving a quote from an etsy.com vendor where they emailed me a photo of the flowers they would use that came from one of these sites, I figured I'd give up a Saturday afternoon and save myself atleast $200. The trick is calculate how much of each flower you will need before you place your orders because some of these sites offer the same items, but in different quantities and you don't want to waste money on shipping (so buy everything at once
Also, sign up and become a member/registered with the site a few days before you order and you may get a new member promo. I always google for a free shipping or % off promo code before placing any online order. And be sure to pay attention to how big each bloom is because photos can be deceiving. I keep a ruler next to my computer so I can see how big or small something will actually be when it arrives.
Anywho, here's the sites I found, hope they are helpful to everyone. If you found some others, pleas post them so we can all save a few $$$.
http://www.silksareforever.com - offers quality silk flowers in bulk orders only. Also have bulk orders of bouquets and garland.
http://www.silkflowersfactory.com - offers average silk flowers, and a super low price. Great for craft ideas, pomanders, garland, arches, etc. Order vases, mirrors, beads, etc too. Some edges are rough on petal ends. I don't like their peonies at all.
http://www.save-on-crafts.com - real touch and preserved rose heads. More expensive, but you can't tell that they are not real. Also, have silk and paper flowers too.
http://www.flowers-by-design.com - real touch roses at no minimum to buy. Silk flowers at average quality.
http://www.afloral.com - quality silk flowers with no minium to buy. Reviews are available on some items which might help you decide. Site also has a customer gallery, sells floral supplies and has instructional videos.
http://www.koyalwholesale.com - A variety of bulk discount silk flowers. Also has nice pre-made bouquets at excellent prices. Most are in bulk orders, but you can't beat $80 for 12 bridesmaids bouquets. Put 2 or 3 together to make a bridal bouquet. They also have a ton of other wedding supplies, so take a look around the site.
******************UPDATE**************
When I was in a bind because my carnations from silkflowersfactory were only an inch instead of 2. I improvised with hydrangea and carnations from the Dollar Tree.
It takes ALOT of digging thru the bad BAD BAD flowers to find a few bushes that are really nice!
Used them all at the bottom of the Giant pomanders. And no one can even tell they aren't real AND they look better than the ones from Michaels.
